My bad, it was srika () - https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/lexus-lf-event-autobahn-cc-il-today-lots-pics-813179/

And, I understand (but can't confirm), that he gave his right acorn, not his left.

"Doing more for less." That was the case for Honda/Acura dated many years back.

Since recent years, it is no longer the case for the Honda V6 engine family. The Honda V6's have constantly been lagging behind in horsepower figures when compared with the industry's best same displacement, naturally-aspirated V6 engines.

However, Honda has been and is still the leader in I4 engine family in the hp/liter department against the world's bests.

It's just the aging J-series V6 family that Honda has no more technological breakthrough in order to crank out more hp/liter, while staying naturally-aspirated and hybrid-less.

What a minute. The 'r' in Bruce changes to a 'w', but the L changes to an R in Lee?

Shouldn't it be "Bwuce Wee".

I agree you have to start somewhere and Honda's lip service has gotten old of late, but to me something in $100K-200K price range would have provided better market impact than $375K. More on the road and wider media coverage.

The problem with the LFA is that it's never gotten much attention outside of the hardcore auto press so it's not doing it's intended role of promoting Toyota and Lexus.

Even the NSX was never proven by marketing survey's to be of much impact to sales influence to other Acura models.

Agree, Honda used to be the leader in small V6 gasoline motors but the competition has caught up and in some cases passed them.

One thing to remember is Honda's J-series is a SOHC vs. the majority of the competition using DOHC so it makes variable valve timing more difficult.

Have to agree. I think a majority of people would be hard pressed to identify the LF-A as a Lexus/Toyota product much less be aware of the technology it has.

Acura NSX concep headed to Detroit?

The rumor mill is back in action as a new report is indicating Honda will unveil a Super Sports concept at the North American International Auto Show in January.

According to AutoCar, the vehicle will follow in the footsteps of the Small Sports EV concept and preview the styling direction for an NSX successor.

Powertrain details remain elusive, but speculation suggests the concept will be a hybrid or an electric vehicle. There's aword of an all-wheel drive system, but nothing is official as of yet.

Autocar

Honda has revealed that it is working on a new concept that hints at a range-topping sports coupe.

The Super Sports concept will follow the Small Sports EV Concept that will be unveiled at this week’s Tokyo motor show. The Super Sports design will be shown at the Detroit show in January and will form a halo model that suggests a spiritual successor to the NSX.

The existence of two concepts reiterates recent comments from Honda chiefs that the company is working on a range of sports models. President of Honda Motor Europe, Manabu Nishimae, described how the company “knows that there are customers who want Honda sports cars, and we are developing and intending to deliver products for them”.

There are no official details regards the Super Sports’ engine transmission, but expect a high-performance hybrid or electric powertrain in keeping with the company's current push towards further electrification of its range. An all-wheel drive system is also possible.

The Small Sports EV Concept that will be seen at Tokyo is expected to reach showrooms by 2013.

Does electric mean what it does for the Fit EV? Lease only and 1,100 leased over the next 3 years? If it does then who cares.

Lets hope they're smarter than that.

New rumor straight from my asshole:

Asshole

Honda has revealed that it is most certainly not working on a range-topping sports coupe.

The Super Sports concept, which will never exist, could have been unveiled at this week’s Tokyo motor show. Instead Honda is preparing several poorly thought out EV concepts which will neither excite nor entice any visitors to the show.
President of Honda Motor Europe, Manabu Nishimae, described how the company “knows that there are customers who want Honda sports cars, and, well, fuck those guys”.

There are no official details regarding anything exciting coming out of Honda in the near or distant future, although some rumors suggest that Honda may be prepping a Prius V-fighter which will be using a gasoline/hybrid drivetrain to deliver efficient gas mileage with a Honda inspired flair for boredom. If the rumors are true, look forward to this new "NSX" to hit shores sometime in 2015 with seating capacity for 7.

Except that their recent F1 experience was nothing to be cheered at.

Honda withdrew it's last "Honda Racing F1" team effort from F1 in 2008 after years of disappointing results.

I know that Jeff on TOV says the concept from the movie is pretty much what we're getting as the production model, but here's hoping it's a little bit more special looking than that, especially in the front, which to me looks like a CR-Z molded into mid-engine sports car.

I think they have to stick to the Acura penta-grille, which is fine, but I would like to see them cleverly integrate that into the design. they don't need to spell it out for us that this is an Acura, look at its corporate grille.
