Acura should know they have made a wrong turn when Cnet thinks your dash looks too busy and they still have reservations about the TouchPad and interface on your Infotainment.

You need to go sit in the car and make up your own mind. I personally think the dash layout and details in the A-spec are a work of art. Way much better than the photos.

In all fairness you only test drove the Aspec before buying, so saying this without sitting in other models is not really a proper comparison. On my end, sitting in front of anything but Virtual Cockpit is a major downgrade for luxury. Congrats on the car though, I would have picked that blue as well but in Elite/Advance if it was available.

I will if my deposited one ever gets here. I'm not interested in A-Spec. Dealer doesn't currently have any with SH-AWD yet.

I think the post you are replying to was about Touch-Pad Infotainment. I used it in a RDX loaner and was not impressed. I'm a software developer so I know a bit about tech in cars.
- the true-touch part of the interface stumbles when going to Apple CarPlay
- High-end sound-system but the CD-player is missing (and I don't think .WAV or .FLAC are supported). At least Audi-Q5e puts it in the glove-box.
- Even with Wireless Charging, there is no Wireless Car-Play
- Even with Wireless Charging, there is no (advertised) cellular-signal-booster technology

This list is not complete, just some quick thoughts.

I regularly attend the LA auto show and typically go view cars on dealers lots. I’ve sat in a lot of different vehicles. I know what I find attractive and what I don’t.

Having had the RDX for now close to two years, I can attest to the shortcomings of the True Touch pad when it’s being used in conjunction with Apple CarPlay. Try scrolling to the artist or song that you want and it becomes apparent they didn’t think this through. When using it with the other functions, it’s acceptable.

In Acura's defense, is this Honda's software or Apple's? It seems kind of weird that once you bring up Apple car play, suddenly it's no longer true touch, but more like a laptop cursor. I dunno ... either way, I rarely use the deng thing and usually shut the screen off once I set what I need to preserve the LCD screen from burnout.

my 15 TLX i immediately removed the Turanza tires and put on DWS06, huge improvement and was like $850

I had a feeling I didn't see button previous pictures. I think the old Aspec did have it, wondering if 2G advance has it. If not, it's a pretty interesting omission.

Maybe they're saving it for the Type-S.

Yes, the 1G A-spec, especially in Elite trim, actually had a lot going for it. If only Acura would still offer that combination....

The 16 way seat on the Advance RDX has a thigh extension though it doesn’t extend as far as the 2018-2020 TLX A-spec seat. My understanding is that the TLX-2 Advance seats are the same as those in the RDX so odds are the seat has a thigh extension.

I didn’t realize the TLX has a front lift system. Cool.

Those wheels are 100000x better than the garbage wheels it came with.

Although...kind of weird they'd upgrade the wheels on a $45K car...and then stick a set of budget tires on it...

The round circular ones from the 1G are excellent, even if they're kind of fake. As it is, the A-Spec just doesn't have enough visually to differentiate it from the other models. The side skirts and front lip should be standard on the A-Spec, and not an accessory you can add to any TLX. I can't help but think they're holding it back a bit to make sure the Type-S has enough visual gravitas from the regular models to justify the price increase.

Agreed. Maybe they could have given the A-spec dual round pipes (or just finishers) and make the quad pipes just for the Type S like they’re going to do. That’s what I would have done anyway.

The Type S should also have the skirt kit something besides the exhaust and rims to stand out. You should be able to tell from any angle and not rely on rims or exhaust to know.

Looks incredible! If anyone is as OCD as I am, I would get those glossy black parts of the A-spec kit covered in a clear bra.

I don't think that's part of the A-Spec kit; it's the extra accessories you can add for any TLX.

That side skirt kit makes a world of difference on this car. Same goes for the C8 Corvette. Before I got my R8 V10, I swapped out the normal side skirts on my R8 V8 for the V10 style ones just cause they looked so damn good.

Is it just me, or does the wheel/tire combo look smaller than stock? Not a particular fan of the wheel choice, but way better than stock ... then again, literally any wheel would be a better choice.

EDIT - Looking at stock wheel photos, nope, look to be the same size. Guess the smaller sidewall just makes it look smaller.

According to the brochure, only the Advance model has the 16 way power seats with the power thigh extension.

They’re ADV Track Spec wheels, 3-pc with hidden hardware. I loved the way they looked, but they’re not lightweight in spite of the name.
