I know their are alot of 'I've heards' in this thread. But in speaking to someone (that had recently spoken to an Acura rep that had seen the new TL...or so he said), they're expecting the new TL onsale around November '08. He was also told that there will be two versions, a FWD (debuting in November) with 300hp and the SH-AWD version (that will get a HP bump from the FWD version) available about a month later.....

Im down for a TL meet going to the auto show. BTW....i dont think they will be debuting the car there. We would have heard something official by now or seen some teaser shots to peak interest. Just like they did with the TSX.

I think that Acura is going for a car that will compete with the 5-series, and I think it competes with the M, in terms of handling, luxury, and technology, but falls short on power. Just my

The TSX is late April, the RL is soon after that in May. These are officially announced so there's no guessing. The TL is guestimated to be after Labor Day based on general statements and rumors from Acura. Seems to be a good guess.

The TL most likely will debut at the NY show. The MDX was debuted there and it went on sale in the same frame targeted for the TL. If it isn't presented there, then acura may still be working out a bit of stuff on the concept car or production car.

Man, I wish they would tell us something - anything concrete. I'm starting to get caught up in rumors about other cars, just because there is nothing on this car! If they dont debut at NY where could they possibly debut!!

I'm doubtful, but it makes since that Acura would show the 4th gen TL at the New York show since many times manufacturers will save something for New York seeing as it's the last major show of the season. I just hopeful that it'll look at least as good as the 3rd gen TL (but hopefully better).
I'm a huge Honda fan, but looking at the '08 Accord and '09 RL, I'm a bit concerned.

They might as well release pics and info, because if they show something and they receive negative feedback on the styling and specs, they're not going to change anything. It's too late to go back to the drawing board and make significant changes. It has to go into production soon in order to meet the release date, so the design is probably a done deal by now. Hell, you don't see Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Infinity and Audi being so tight lipped and top secret with their vehicles. And then you wonder why Acura doesn't have the prestige and respect like their competitors have

I guess it's just a matter of corporate style. That's how they operate. Not sure we can draw a connection between Acura's recent slide in sales to this. In the end, it probably doesn't matter one way or the other if pictures are leaked a few weeks early or not. It only matters to the few who seem to be interested. The vast majority of car buyers are not waiting with baited breath for info about the next Acura TL or Audi A4, etc. They really don't give a shit. Acura needs to base their actions on the majority of people, not us. If leaking a picture in March helped sell TL's in October, I'm sure they would leak like a sieve.

a friend of mine works at Honda here in Canada and he told me that he's got a glimps of the new 2009 TL apparantly its a AWD + 313HP

And I think your friend is just speculating on the TL; AWD is highly doubtful. Honda/Acura are traditionally tightlipped until the unveiling. I don't know what to make of this TSX article on that note. And judging by the RL and these TSX shots, I'm not sure I ever want to see the new TL.
