I too will reserve judgment until the actual reveal of the concept, but it was exciting to see some different photos. There has been a spyshot drought around here.

As a previous TL owner, I am also anxiously awaiting the next TL. If it isn't FUBAR I may remain in the Acura family... I'm quite sure it will be larger and with SH-AWD. If it isn't compelling enough, I've already stated my desire to buy a CTS-V...

It's going to be really interesting to compare this with my RL when it's released....

Looking at this pic, it seems as though the bottom of the trunk opening is actually wider and taller than it looks. Seems like the camo has been stretched in from the sides and up from the bottom to make it appear smaller.

I saw a G8 in toronto last summer, it was before it came out, but it was completely bare.

I kinda like how the TL looks in the pics, but am still holding final judgment. I'm glad that the TL is bigger (although it doesnt really need to be) and may have SH-AWD but if the TL goes over 3850-3900 lbs I will cry.

If this is true, then it confirms SH-AWD. My RL has a HUGE rear diff. Has to be huge to fit all those planetary gears for SH-AWD. I am also hoping (as I have written many times in the past here) that Honda should do something about the weight of SH-AWD.

If they can keep the weight of the 4G TL to not much more than the 3G TL, and give it extra power, it will be unstoppable as a "sport" sedan. SH-AWD>>>>>>RWD IMHO as you get many (not all) of the bennies of RWD along with AWD traction for rain or snow--the best of both worlds. I am an SH-AWD believer after 18 months in the RL. As an RL owner, I can tell you that SH-AWD is no joke in dry weather....I can drive that car VERY aggressively in the curves, especially with the A-Spec suspension aboard. (And you guys think RL guys don't mod.... )

At the Cleveland auto show they had the new TSX and the new RL. I hate the front end, it's ugly. I talked to the Acura guy and he said the TL would get the new front end but NO AWD. He said only the RL would have the AWD. Hopefully he's wrong on both accounts, b/c the new Acura front end is horrible.

The new TSX has not gone on public display anywhere yet. You must have been looking at the current gen. It will be in NY this week for it's debut. The TL will almost certainly have SHAWD as standard. We haven't heard it officially from Acura but the odds of it being true are approaching 100%. The "Acura guy" you talked to is contradicting everything we've seen and read.

I agree about teh RL grill but seeing it on the new TL is almost a guaranteed certainty. Sorry

The 4th gen will have SHAWD this will all be confirmed on friday :o ) Woohoo! I can't wait... although I'm still contemplating the 08 RL (09 is too fugly for my taste lol)

Where did you hear/read about that? I've heard many people saying the TL would debut in NY but I've never read anything from Acura on that? Did I miss something? All I read is that the TSX will be at NY this week

Well thats where the 3g TL debuted and maybe even the 2g, and it makes sense that they would debut the TL there, along with the TSX.

If that pic is at all close to a real thing, I'm happy. First Honda I've seen in a while that doesn't hurt to look at. I can see similarity to the TSX so maybe it is real. The grill is not great, but doable.

I love how sedans are starting to look like coupes. The RL has that coupe look too.

Well Acura's concepts seemed to look very similar to the real thing, judging by the 3g concept.

IMHO, I dont think the 2010 RL looks that good. Looks better than the current RL (what car doesnt) but kinda bland for me and still has that gay grille which unfortulately will def be on all Acuras eventually, including the TL. TLs have always been one of the best looking cars on the market, but this one looks kind of bleh.

And we have been drooling over that pic in RL for the last couple of hours.

Honda has a long history of disapointing us with concepts not remotely like the production products. Exhibit A: The 1G CL. B: the 2G Pilot. C: V8-powered 2G RL. None of the concepts turned out anywhere near reality. They'd better not let us enthusiasts down this time.

Not sure how many of you guys make it out of the TL forums, but there's a huge thread in Car Talk about how Acura is planning on stepping up to Tier 1 luxury. Now while most of us have been lamenting that the redesigned RL, new TSX, and most likely TL will not be up to this level, some of us did realize it's probably not going to happen over night. To that end, we could expect the changes to occur with the next generation of cars, not the one that is coming out now. The NSX (aka Vaporcar) and RL are coming in 2010. It would make sense to start the overhaul/shift to Tier 1 with the flagship (RL) and the halo (NSX). That said, the RL concept looks good...and I still think the overall lines of the TL look good; it will boil down to the details, which are under heavy camouflage.
