Rossv1's Progress Thread
Thanks fellas.
The first one is at our auditorium on campus, the second is a little spot downtown but I got run off or else I'd have taken more than one pic.

No new updates, but hopefully I'll have some in the upcoming months. My stock shocks are starting to go bad so I'll have to get them replaced sooner than later, which leaves me at do I just get a set of Koni Yellows or do I upgrade to a full coilover? I'm happy with the ride height I'm at now and highly doubt I'd go any lower if I got coils.
I was having some weird grinding noise from the front passenger brake when slowing at low speeds so I decided to rebed the brakes a couple of days ago. Grinding is totally gone but now I have to push the pedal a lot further to come to a stop whereas before it was a light tap and I was completely stopped. Hopefully they go back to how they were before, just without the grinding.
If the weather gets better I may try to grab some new pics this weekend.

That's what I'm thinking. Although if a set pops up on the BM for a good price I wouldn't be against coils.
Was too late to edit my other post but I'm debating repainting the Brembos. Been thinking about either doing a brighter blue or maybe yellow. Always open to suggestions though.

Well 5 weeks later the brakes are fine and the grinding hasn't come back (Knock on wood). No new mods though, want to repaint the brakes just need to find the motivation to do something to it.
Washed it yesterday and tried out Griots Spray on Wax. I think it really helps the car pop.

I hear ya. My neighbors landscaper (his son-in-law) gets my car all the time when he gets the blower out and sends all the cut grass all over the friggin place...including on my car.
I know what time/day he comes now and I try to remember to move the cars out of the way. I think he gets the idea now tho
Well it's time for new tires. Trying to decide if I should stay with the stock sizes or go with a 255/40/17 this time instead. Only thing I'm concerned about with the 255 is the extra wheel gap that will be there because of the smaller sidewall. But if it's not really noticeable then.......

Not sure another $1000 was in the budget!
255 won't have a smaller sidewall if you go with 40, right?
I don't know...sometimes, a bigger tire will make a wheel look smaller...but then again, will fill in the gap more and give you better cornering and probably a softer ride. I'd stick with stock size.
^I agree! Love the beefy tire look. Check out Steve's setup on type-s wheels, I believe on a-spec suspension. Doesn't look bad at all, and if your on s-tech springs, it should look Great.
I am thinking of goin to the 255/40/17 setup as well. I am currently running 245/40/17 now, and koni/H&R sports, and I do realize this is "slightly" under OEM overall diameter. (I believe 255/40 is even closer to the OEM overall diameter.

When I got the car it had crappy Michelin 225-45-17 tires on it. The bridgestone re760 in 255-40-17 grip and handle much better even in the rain. The wider tires along with the aspec suspension and progress rear sway bar make the car much more enjoyable to drive. I like the look of the wider tires compared to the factory size.

I thought you were talking about MY beefiness......
Have you had any issues with the sidewalls cracking or splitting since the sidewall is kind of buldged instead of standing straight up? If that even makes sense. Or maybe that's not even an issue. lol
Skimmed through the 255/40 tire thread again and the more I think about it the saying screw it and going with the wider tire. It'll all depend on what the tire shops have in stock though.

Why lower the sidewall though? I didn't realize that's what you were doing to go wider. I think a 255/45 would probably look great too and NOT shrink the diameter.

Only reason is because Innacurate did a huge thread about 255/40 size tires. It's way too long to actually read through, but there's got to be a reason why he didn't suggest 255/45. Or at least that's my reasoning.
