Agreed.

They still exist, but don't think people use them that much anymore.

Yea, and they're more than I want to spend on top of the suspension. Plus, I think I'd have to get a different strut bar so that'd be more cost to figure in...
I'm going to go with the Koni's I think. Especially after finding out that they're actually fully adjustable dampening wise. Gonna wait a couple of days and see if some solid ones pop up in the BM but if not I'll just get them new.

Yea, EDFC's were not cheap, but it's a cool setup.

Yep. Nothing too exciting, but a normal maintenance/upgrade item and figured I'd do them both at the same time. Hopefully they'll all be here soon.

Screw teasing. I ordered Stoptech slotted rotors and pads from XLR8 also.
I've been unhappy with my brakemotives for a long time.

You'll love them! Minus the brake pads, they dust worse than a fking racecar. Originally Posted by rossv1

Excellent stopping power though. I ordered SS lines and 5.1 Motul when I did my brakes 2 years back. The pads are finally starting to squeal and I can't wait to replace them.

The pads won't be any worse than the OEM Brembo pads, I'd clean the wheels and they'd be completely covered in dust the next day.
I'm debating doing the brakes myself, but I've never done a brake job before so I don't know.....
Between the new brakes and suspension, I'm going to fall in love with the car all over again.
Edit:
We're you able to tell a difference with the Stainless brake lines? I debated getting them but decided against it...

So I'm getting everything put on Tuesday. Guy said he'd do the brakes for an extra $50 while he does the shocks. $200 total which isn't bad at all.
Now the question is what perch should I set my springs at and how should I do the dampening? Once I leave this guy's place I'm more than likely never going to touch them again. I know the dampening is personal preference, but I'd like it to be stiff without being bone-jarring. Although I've thought about leaving them on the softer side to minimize some rattles when I come across rough roads....
I'm thinking about either doing the perches all the way down on both f&r just for the extra lowering or making it so there's a slight rake. But then again I don't know if it's going to even be noticeable.
Input more than welcome

I think the pedal felt a lot better and while I was driving in a very spirited manner in NC, they never once felt like they were fading. Overall, very happy.

Ross, do get the SS brake lines...they are def worth the upgrade...pedal feel is a lottt better when you get on it...
I have been running the powerslot slotted rotors (similar to the stoptechs) for over 7 years and 100K miles...they are still in great shape...I paired them with Hawk HPS brake pads, and I wont go into how much they dust...the wheels get dirty on the way home from a wand wash
but they stop on a dime
I put 45K on the first set of front pads, replaced with the exact same HPS pads and I have 55K on them and they have recently started squealing...I was actually happy they were squealing so I can finally change them hahaha
I had ~80K on the rear HPS pads but a seized piston destroyed them in about 5 miles LOL...I replaced them with RB ET500 back in 2011 and they have been pretty good...the fronts will be replaced with ET500 (ordered that set back in 2011 but the HAWK fronts were still going strong)

"Very spirited manner".... AKA fast as FAWK
I'm so excited to get everything put on. I went with Stoptech Street Performance pads so I've basically got XLR8's suggested brake setup (minus SS brake lines). From the sounds of it though I may need to invest in a set soon though...
Would setting the shocks up on the softer side help with rattles on the interior, thats the only reason I'd put them on soft. If it wouldn't help significantly I'm putting them on the lowest perch and full stiff becuz racecar.

Can't really say although I've recently thought about making my coils a little softer for the same reason. Not only that but the ATLP exhaust is sooooo bassy, everything has some kind of rattle.
Yeah, I was on the Blue Ridge Parkway, going about as fast as I felt comfortable doing on mountain roads in a 3500lb car.
Even through constant braking, they never felt like they wanted to fade.
My wheels were so hot after that. Like burn your finger hot.

I would suggest to take that off personal preference...if you have the Tein's, you cant adjust preload on them, so it makes your life super easy...
set them to the height that you like, and adjust the dampening till its to your liking...when I was all out gutted, I loved a firm ride...I had the coils preloaded pretty tight and dampening set to 80% of the max in the rear and 75% upfront...LOVED IT...
but since the kid sits in the car now, the preload is at factory spec and the dampening is at 50% all around...so its pretty much how you like to drive your car

Was there a big difference between the 75% stiffness and 50%? I like my ride to be stiff but don't want it to bounce around everywhere.
And I know SB, I'm glad I was able to find this guy a while back, he does great quality work and his prices are unbeatable.

in my case yes, because I also decreased the preload...Originally Posted by rossv1

also, you will bounce around on a very comfy setup, not on these...as mentioned, start from the mid point and take it from there...

Got rained out.
I had a feeling something was going to happen and we'd have to cancel so I called last Friday and made an appointment with a shop for tomorrow at 12 so everything is getting installed for sure tomorrow. Unless my car or the shop blows up, which with my luck so far one of the two is going to.

Well, today was supposed to be fun but it wasn't.
They first tried doing my brakes, but it turns out that the shop that installed my rotors/pads the last time screwed up a caliper bolt so they weren't able to get it out...
Then comes the Koni install. Should be smooth sailing, right? Wrong. For whatever reason they had issues getting everything installed. Now the front of my car is about the same height as before, maybe a tad lower, but the back is sky high even though they springs are on the lowest perch I think. They said even commented about the back sitting so high.
I was doing some searching and saw where this OP had the same issue with a high gap and it turned out that the shop installed the perch cup upside down. I can try to grab a pic or 2 of mine and see if they did the same and that's what's causing my problems. I was thinking that the gap could be just from the shocks being new and they need to settle, but the fronts are low and the rears have a 3 1/2 finger gap.
Sorry if the post is hard to read, just kind of rambling.

I'm not sure if the shocks will settle because they're new, or if they're just installed with the perch cup upside down which is making the rears so high. I honestly think it might be the perch cup since the fronts are sitting normally like they were beforehand.
Rear Perch Cup

Rear Gap (About 3 fingers or so)

Front Gap (About 1 finger or so)
