Sooooooo Anil, what if I went with a 245/45 instead of the 245/40? What there be any bad side effects? I was thinking maybe going this route because I could get a little wider tire without getting the increase in tire gap.

Google the tire size you're interested in and on what width wheel...there'll be plenty of pictures to give you an idea of what it'll look like!

Decided to do a little side splitter like what Anil and Eric did to there TLs. I decided to black instead of CF and now I kind of wish I did the latter. Oh well. I like it because it adds a little bit to the sideskirts since I don't have the Aspec sides. I'll have to take some better potato pics.

Looks nice.
What if that CF piece was white CF

245/45, you'll slow down and might look ugly with bigger sidewall than stock, like a camry, fat sidewall

Remember, that's not beefy
If sidewall was small, and width was bigger like 255,265.. than that's beefy

Damn. This tire stuff is confusing as hell to me. Haha. I'm probably better off just getting stock size and throwing some 15/20mm spacers.

You should do it Steven. It's a nice and subtle mod to do. Doesn't hurt that it's cheap also. I think I only spent $8 and about an hour of my time.

Got it!!

Stock is 105.3 sidewall
245/40 is 98
255/40 is 102!!!

Much closer to stock gap and you will have 255 tires which everyone like here and happy with. Plus you will not have to use spacers. That's will be your excuse as well. I wouldn't recommend spacers also.

Now what do you think?

no sideeffects....the 245/40 tire is a little smaller (since smaller sidewall)....

since you are on springs, I would leave it at 235/45/17 (from 8-9" wide rim)

Thanks much for the credits buddy....It all goes to Eric...he found it and Matt, introduced me to it

Looking Good Ross!

On the 245/40 tire size......that's what I've been running for awhile now. Speedo is off by ~1mph or slightly more....I am contemplating the 255/40 next (just for a little more width) and know a lot of members like that size. In post 21 out of the link below you can see a visual of what the size looks like (My car is the WDP with no a-spec kit '04, 4th pic down on post #21).

How many finger gap did you have before the 245/40's and after? That's really the only thing holding me back.

Thanks Tyler. At first I was like but then I was like

How's this for some shit, I was coming home from a buddy's house tonight when I get the flashing D light, VSA light, and CEL on again. The code said it was for solenoid D this time. I restarted the car and the only light that came on the second time was the CEL. Drove it over to Acura (drove like there was nothing wrong) and dropped it off so now I'll have to get another solenoid replaced.

Is it common for these to go out or am I a freak case where I've had 2 go out within 1000 miles?

Edit: The code is P0767 incase anyone is interested.

^That sucks! Sorry to hear!

On the tire size, I never tested the finger gap (was stock at the time). I lowered it on Koni SP3's and H&R sports not long after. I wanna say its at 1 finger up front, and 1 1/2 finger in the back now.

255/40 becomes very heavy when you look at putting it on a 8" rim....

yes it has more traction than 245 but you dont need 255 unless you are putting down some serious power (325-330+ whp)....I would stick with 245....

and on another solenoid going out

well whether you get a single or double or triple clutch...make sure your blinker fluid it topped off, or the solenoids will keep going failing one after the other like a domino affect...

Will do Anil. I was also thinking about putting some soap and water in the gas tank... New tranny, clean gas tank, clean engine.
What's better than that?

On a serious note, I guess the new tranny will come with fresh 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches?

I dont think so...i think they are just gonna "rebuild" it? no?

ask for the invoice and see if they replaced the switches and solenoids

Negative ghost rider. They guy at the dealer said it was a brand spankin new tranny to the tune of $4800 (all covered under warranty.) I'll have to make sure the solenoids and stuff are new too; want to make this one last. Lol

Lol. I wonder if anyone would catch it.

I'm starting to get bored of waiting. They ordered the tranny () Friday so I'm hoping I'll have my car back by Thursday.

Thanks man. I kind of have to agree with you on the wheel size. The 19's looked bigger than I thought they would. If I get another set of wheels I'm going 18's for sure.
