Lol. Thanks guys.
I'll get around to taking some full shots once I wash it. But until then these close ups will have to do.
The front and rears look different shades of red for some reason but they're the same.

Here's a link to the Brembo covers. I like them because they're single pot so they're much more realistic than the other covers that are out there. I still don't see why Acura just didn't go ahead and put Brembos on the rears like Infiniti etc did.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RED-Brembo-Look-Brake-Caliper-Covers-Small-REAR-2PCS-/220795435062?hash=item33686ef836&vxp=mtr
I ordered them a couple of years back from the same seller and shipping was lighting fast. This time it took FOREVER (I thought they were lost in transit til they showed up one day) so I guess it's hit or miss.
Also, I noticed today when I went out that I had some very very minor overspray on the fenders and part of the hood from when I did the brakes, even though I thought (
) masked everything off well. I couldn't even see it outside, only once I pulled in the garage and looked at certain angle did I notice.
I tried a little alcohol on a MF towel on a section and it came off. Is there a better/easier way to get it off? I don't own a buffer or anything so anything would have to be done by hand.
And finally, I put out a feeler locally about trading my Type S tails for a 07-08 Base tails and got quite a few guys willing to trade. I've always liked how the red and white tails looked on WDP and think it would look sharp on my car but would like to know what some others thought.

Stay with the Type S tails! Taillights were something I've literally never even considered modding. I think the type s lights just look perfect on our cars.
Also, do you have a good method of keeping the brembo cover on? I have them in a box in my garage still, never did anything with them yet.

I'm torn with the lights. I like how the Type S tails look but ran across this pic specifically on google that made me start thinking. And the fact I could do a straight trade would make it even better. But the last thing I want to do is to do a mod just for the hell of it and be stuck with a set of base tails down the road. I just don't know.

As for the covers, it's going to sound really ghetto, but I've used double sided tape the past two times. The very first time I put them on I used JB Weld and, like Steven's, they fell off. I then decided to try double sided tape and put it on where the cover touches the brake assembly and never had any issues. I went thru car washes, heavy rain, cold weather, etc and they've stayed on.

The base tails look nice, but I'm guessing you'll be able to trade your type S tails for base all day long. You'll have a much harder time going back to type s tho if you change your mind.
And damn, double sided tape. That certainly sounds easy. Any particular brand that is working so well for you?

Has anyone had experience with depo tails? Amazon has the base pair for only 105 with free shipping which isn't terrible. Just don't know how quality would be and don't want to have any leaks and stuff in them.
And yep, just normal double sided tape. I use 3m extra strength (?) I think. Just whatever the strongest I can find at advance auto on that particular day.
I have an extra cover laying around and can do a mock up of where I put the tape on if you want KJ. We need to get your rear brakes fancied up ASAP. Lol

I hear ya, brother. I've got ONE MORE SET of covers for the rears. I'm actually thinking of using heavy duty wire ties on these. If they fall off, I'm done......

yeah I think its the way these brembo's go on!
I have the Acura RDX caliper covers and i put some JB weld and they have been on for a while....the brembo's do not "contact" a large enough area...

My modded 07-08 Base tails are DEPO. Even after cutting, painting, and reassembling them 4 years ago, I've had no issues. I'm trying to find a set too, so let me know when you do. I ordered a set from an eBay vendor and they sent me a set made by Eagle Eyes, a company that doesn't have very good reviews. I immediately returned them for a refund and gave up afterwards.
DEPO tail lights are excellent.
If you're looking into getting 07/08 base ones from DEPO, I hear the clear part is actually VERY marginally darker, which some like.
The 07/08 base tail lights are my favourite, on WDP.

Those pictures look excellent
I think those tails flow so much better with white than the Type S tails do. The white matches the white body of the car and the red ties in with my red Brembos. If I got the Depo tails, I'd likely never switch my stock tails back in and they'd just lay around in the garage. That's part of the reason why I'd like to trade; I could send them to a new home where they'd be appreciated.
If I do go the route of base tails, Depo or OEM, I would probably end up lightly tinting just the clear diffuser to darken it up a little bit.
And then of course Tyler makes the decision even harder by telling me that his are Depo and he hasn't had any problems with his.
SB and Anil, go the double sided tape route. You shouldn't have any issues. But then ya'll see much harsher winters than we do in the south with snow and what not so I'm not sure how it would hold up. But then double sided tape is what they use to reinforce the Aspec kit....

Ross, be leery of $105 for depo. Once they caught on that that brand sold better...they started labeling them Depo. Be sure they are ACTUALLY Depo and not Eagle Eyes or TYC. Those are made cheaply and cannot be modded since you can't get the bezel out.
Is there any way to tell if they're actually Depo before buying them? I woukdnt want to end up getting them and then have then end up being inferior. Because then I could've just gone the trade route. lol
Edit: that is if I do this at all.
For some reason I'm mesmerized every time I see that pic Anil.

awww shieeeetttt man....yeah that was more of a spontaneous thing while I was playing around with the camera hahaha....I wish I still hadnt delete the raw file so I could edit it a little
but that RWD conversion looks legit

Dammit. USR has the tails for like $120ish.
This is tempting.
I've seen some pics where people have just tinted the clear diffuser, would that require me opening the tails up or could I just tint the diffuser itself while the tails are off and not have to open them up? If that makes sense.

You can spray the brake lens without opening the tail lights up
I was surprised when someone brought tail lights done by Bruce with Niteshaded brake lens and the tail lights were not open

Thanks for the info GP. I've seen the 07-08's with tinted diffusers on an NBP and it looked good but haven't seen it on a lighter color like WDP or ASM/SSM so I wonder how it'd look.
And yea SB, I know. lol. And while it's not terrible, I'm cheap and it's more than I really want to spend.
The more I think about it, the more I like the though of trading my tails for a nice set of OEMs.... Just have to finally decide if that's what I want to do or not.
