pulled the trigger on the RL swap lol. Ill just sell off my current stuff when I do the swap.
Any ideas on caliper colour for my car? Id love to hear some opinions. NOT RED though, I'm def getting rid of that! N1 suggested burnt copper. It looks really nice, I like the black with white Acura lettering too, very clean and simple

On blue, I'd like silver or yellow.
I actually did silver first...black letters...
then teal with black
then teal with white
then copper with white
then tiffany with white
then teal with white
I'm a fool...
Aside from peole thinking it wsa a girl car. I heavily considered hot pink.
If you can decide on a color and stick with it forever, I'd get it powdercoated...theu're already off the car and you'll have to bleed regardless...that's a big reason why I advocate painting...

thanks guys. I do like the silver with black letters but I'm worried it will just kinda blend in with the waffles. And silver looks kinda stock to me ?
This should be fun trying to figure this out lol

haha it's tough with so many options!
i actually think the burnt copper or even white would look really sharp with your car color and the waffles. white will give it the nice contrast to stand out, and when i had white it didn't get super dirty...just gotta clean it off like you would your wheels when you wash your car.
i agree silver would blend in too much with the waffles

I think silver with black lettering would look cool - It also depends on what your wheel choice is going to be - I'm probably going to redo mine once I get the Advans on or get my rear kit on just to give it that extra bit of flare.

Yeah, not gold at all!
i actually contemplated a hammered copper look, might have been nice, but I missed my project mu lugs and the satin lagoon is just too perfect a match. I also like staying with bluish hues because of the blue pearl in the paint. The orange did look nice, but was never my fav.

^ fuuuuck I love that.. id almost have to change somethings around to pull that off though. Amber DRLS. If I were to do white calipers behind the waffles what lugs would you go with.
Realistically ill be rocking the waffles for another year FOR SURE so wheels wont be in the convo for a bit unless I come across deal

Well I guess go tell that to Brembo guys.
RL swap will be nice. Are you leaving them stock color?
Brembo calipers are made from oxidised cast aluminium offered in different colour finishes (black, gold, aluminium and titanium)

You ain't readin John!
They are already painted KBP but he's trying to pick what color to go with.
Well...that might be true about what colors the OEM brembo colors are, but the one you posted isn't that color (if it's the 350Z brembo gold color I'm thinkin).

Aftermarket wheels will change your life haha.
j seeing your pics make me want to redo my right calipers. I put on the sticker too soon and it didn't bond well and the clear coat wasn't thick enough so the sticker is coming off in places. Such a pain masking everything though. One quick question: did you do all your coats for satin lagoon and clear coat the same day? I'm changing my rotors and pads this weekend so I'm wondering if I could do a new paint job that same day?

Dave...glad you asked...
that was the biggest fkng problem I had with the rustoleum tiffany blue...after 1 entire DAY it was still soft so applying the decal sucked. In addition...they stated add clear/additional coats before 1 hour, or after 48 hours...but who the fk has time for car to be on stands for 2 days...so i went for it with some old engine enamel clear. SHit wrinkled up immediately...then yellowed when dry. I was PISSED.
Now, with the satin lagoon...since it doesn't have clear in it, it dries FAST (even the VHT burnt copper dried fast enough). I did 2 light coats of base color...then one heavy in this case satin...and in 40 minutes it was dry enough to apply the decal and touch etc...
best advice when laying the decal too...put your guide fingers on an inconspicuous area and don't cut the clear vinyl backing too short so you have reach...then lay it...I lay on my side to look directly at the decal (and to see the imprint of old location) with a flashlight right on it...this ensures I'm consistent with how I lay it.
Anyway, once it's down...4 clear coats...10 minutes apart...(Florida weather)...I freaked because it got kinda milky from going a bit heavy but after the 10 minutes it cleared up (part of the curing process).
I also found it MUCH easier mentally to prep one...then lay a coat and move onto prepping the next one...so you're constantly busy and keeping track of drying times (I kept a notepad with each corner written and when the hour would be up to get decal back on and clear put on)...but you never get overwhelmed with JUST prep work (since that takes so long)...and you don't waste drying time since you're always working on the next one.
If you only need to fix one...that's an hour job...get on it, motherphucker!

Hardware IS Brembo Gold. Calipers match. Why would they paint the hardware Brembo Gold if the calipers arent already?
Everyone always tryin to prove my ass wrong. Im sure its just the lighting or editing.

my only problem is that i really can't have my car up on stands for 2 days because i do all my car work in a parking spot in the back of an apartment complex HAHA
the first time i did it, i did it in my specific parking spot and got blue all over the ground...BUT luckily they repaved a week later so there's no trace haha. this time i'll move to a guest spot
sorry for thread jack OP

I meant I wasnt reading
LOL @ painting the parking spot! I do my work in my garage but Im not the one who typically gets the garage so the room mate is stuck in the driveway when my car is stuck on stands. Typically though I do any real work at my buddy Marc's house as he is a mechanic for Mercedes so he has a ton of tools I dont want to make him bring to my house as its awesome he's lending them to me in the first place.
I have once had to leave my car there on stands when my axle kept popping out while installing my springs. His gf was not thrilled.
