Oh Sickest TL's '06 Royal Blue Pearl
#961
Dude, that's why that electronic brown something or other torque wrench freaked me the fuck out. Set it, then it beeps, then it doesn't beep...like, you motherfucker i know i'm hitting this thing with more than 80!!!
Anyway, with my teal work lugs...I stripped 4 of them, 2 on each front wheel...I did them by hand, but originally put on with a long 1/2" socket breaker bar...felt like I was putting no force and it ripped them right on. Went to remove, just spin and spin and spin. Never had that issue again after having to get them drilled off...but it was enough to make me VERY leery. I do run those orange NRG but again, I chase and then add this teflon dry lube on every single stud before putting them on and still have oh shit moments.
Jon...that's why I've been so hellbent on the mu lugs...7 sided, nice and small, steel...pop of teal. Actually, I also have this gold set that's a knockoff of them from China...decent quality but the gold looks more like rose gold so it doesn't match. more companies should knock off this style of lug!

I never take my wheels off without a torque wrench now and since my wheels have lug caps i just went with some ugly steel lugs from the tire shop.

Confusing Name Guy
I'm going to have to figure out what lugs to run with the RS-Ds because the lugs sit so deep in the wheels, so I was thinking something that extends a little further out from the lug-hole, but I'm nervous about scratching up the wheels because there really is very little space between the lugs and the wall of the wheel.

cluster came in last week. just sitting in my office. took it apart but once you get the plastic covers off, only way to get that paper/plastic piece off is to remove the needles? I'm not fucking with those. are they not calibrated or anything? anyways i can pull it back far enough to somehow slide a piece of electrical tape over the airbag bulb

The needles come right off. Pull straight out.
They're mounted with "clicks" so if it sits too high (like 200 RPM instead of 0 RPM and 10 KM/H instead of 0 KM/H), rotate the needle counter clockwise and it will click to the next position which will be 0KM/H and 0 RPM.
The clicks are in HUGE intervals.
Meaning one setting is 10KM/H, the next is 0 KM/H, then the next is like -10 KM/HR.
You get the idea, it's not like they're in tiny intervals where you have to guess if it's 1 or 2 KM/H or 50 RPMs off.

oh ok! Yea I wasn't aware if there was a calibration factor on those so I said screw that
The air bag light is on the top right though so can just slide a piece of tape under

Agreed $120 is a lot of money, but it's nothing I would sweat over if something went wrong.
I can't see anything going wrong though. Note or mark where the needle was by taking a picture or whiteout dot. Then make sure its clicked into the same position.
I can see how it's more risky for you Jeremy, though.
You're tinkering with your only gauge cluster while Oh Sickest TL and I are tinkering with 07/08 gauge clusters that are "extras"
It should be really easy to tape off the airbag light on the cluster, might as well play it safe Oh Sickest TL!

Must have a good amount of figures, tables, and references!
Referencing (properly) is so important, my friend found out the really hard way.

You won't see the pearl from more than 2 feet, just buy the white of your dreams!
great thing is you'll be able to sand the face of the ACURA off and then clear away!
Or use a touch up pen and make the ACURA the blue of your car!

A Lexus pearl white would be cool, that will definitely be noticeable in the sun

i had some rasp with hfpcs so i replaced the xlr8 resonator with a larger one. i think you'll for sure have some very noticeable rasp. to me, rasp makes the car sound cheap (civic-like), but some people like it. we're all different! just my my car already has a stronger smell with hfpcs, i can't imageine pcds haha.
