Marcus cares about the consumer.
Marcus cares about the car.

He doesn't come into every thread and shove his products down your talk hole.
He doesn't promote something just because it benefits him, he gives advice like a friend and fellow car enthusiast.

That's my take, at least.

So sounds like heeltoe is the opposite of Xlr8. Will remember for future purchases.

I dont like to get into who is better than the other as they both provide the community with excellent products and services I personally prefer to deal with Heeltoe. Marcus has hooked me up with nice prices multiple times and I'm sure will continue the excellent work

I think I'm going to get a new set of headlights made. prior to storing the car for winter my headlights were leaking pretty severely. I was in touch with Bruce and he was more than willing to help me rectify the issue. Just wanted to put it out there that he is also a excellent vendor for our community.

Going to get rid of the blue ring and strip, everything else will stay the same but what colour you think I should get? gunmetal?

Funny, I started the colored ring thing in the headlights a long time ago and quickly thought it looked juvenile. Now I hate it.

Try new dessicant packs...Thanh suggested it and it's worked so far with all the heavy rain and cooler weather.

Do it.

I dont think desiccant packs will help with this particular issue. If i wash my car with a pressure washer there is visible water inside lol

Yea I understand that once you start deviating from OEM and opening shit up and what not issues will arise but I can't be playing around with this issue, I need to get it rectified lol

Oh, I know it...I've opened and closed mine 10 times...2 different sets...I just NOW have it where it's not a problem, but there are still imperfections.
I swear sometimes I'm tempted to just buy a new oem set and leave well enough alone.

Specifically in reference to heads/tails...they seal them right from factory, and I despise the issues and missions that come with touching that. I'm probaby FOS, but you get the point.

I had a bad run in with the other guys advertising a part that didnt actually fit as they advertised. Then they would not offer a refund based on selling a part that couldn be used as they advertised it.

To me that sounds like flat out false advertisement (making a sale based on a lie) but meh who am I to throw out terms like that. Though I do think that it is ILLEGAL.

Just use a LOT of butyl, get it as deep into the lens joint as possible. Iunno, a lot of the time the issue is that when they're resealed, you push the lens in and butyl over that, and over time the lens will get pushed out and create a crack in the seal.

That's what happened to one of mine. The other is holding up strong. The fix was really simple - Just add extra butyl over what was already in there, make sure it seals over the old butyl. Absolutely 0 issues since then, and I wash the car fairly regularly.

^^^That's actually terrible advice.
I've done various methods including trying to seal from on top, use clips, don't use clips, run extra butyl, run clear silicone. Extra butyl will make it VERY hard to get both parts of the light to line up and press into place all the way, which in turn will allow for them to split when the sun makes the butyl hot enough...in additoin to being piled on so much that it might keep the bumper from seating all the way down on it.

The BEST shot you have at not leaking is clean out the old butyl from the channel...line it with a conservative amount, press together from rear of light toward front until you hear all the air bubbles pop, then clamp down and let cool...if you want to, run a thin layer of clear butyl over top of the seam then to ensure no water intrusion. Change out your dessicant packs (thanks Thanh)

My thoughts and reason why I'm not sure I'll ever do it again is that once it's opened, it's been opened. Even if it's just OCD or whatever, you'll never know if your paint is okay that you sprayed in there, if it fogged, if you affected the anti-fog coating inside...if you got every fin and tab lined up when you pressed back together. I'm also not convinced that the 200 degrees in the oven for a total of 40 minutes doesn't compromise the plastic lens and possibly speeds up the break down of the UV coating...

They're all just hypothesis...but just to love amber, or add zkw-r for a little more sharpness might not be worth it to me.

so I was talking in jays thread.. dont wana "derail" his thread...

The wheels are actually advan RSII 18x9 +45, with what looks to be a 235/40 or 235/35 tire on them. Good deal I'm gonna jump on them but will I have to run a 20mm spacer in the front to clear the BBK? And then a 20mm in the rear

Considering aspec wheels are 18x8.5 +45 and clear it no problem...

You're probably fine...actually, for a guy wanting to run some good rubber on there, that's a great offset.

And
RS over RZ any day...I don't like a split 5 vs 10 evenly spaced spokes.

Also, 9" is where it's at...8 ain't bad but this set is MUCH better than I originally thought.

and honestly, maybe if you derail my thread more it'll actually get back on track from the deviation it took on page 2 that it never recovered from!
