my god... I was already thinking of selling my TL to get something else... I am praying this gets done! I could never justify the cost of the S/C but this...This would make me want to keep my TL for a very very long time.

I for one, cannot wait...

also, has anyone seen this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNwAT...eature=related

There isn't much information on this...

The pulley is fine to do with the turbo.

So just to make sure.... This "kit" gonna involve all piping, turbo, bolts, intercooler and everything or some of it gonna need to be performed from a shop? Also is there anything else that will HAVE to be needed in order for this turbo to work?

maybe good numbers yes... but if you say diet as in taking seats out and other things.... I dont get that a bit . I would rather have luxury than a sedan race car... If i was planning to gut i would buy a EVO. I will keep the car luxurious and fast at the same time

Sleeper !!!

In my many years, I have driven sport cars and sleepers. For me, sleepers are a hell a lot more fun to drive. A person drives a Mustang, Camero, EVO, Corvette... not many people want to race you during your daily commutes. If you do race and beat the other guy... so what. The loser got whipped by your fast sports car. No shame in that.

On the other hand. When a (what appears to be) 4-door family car beats a Corvette (me last week), Porche (me today), and dead-tie with the high HP BMW (me 2 weeks ago)..... Now that makes me laugh my ass off the entire day and sometimes the entire week. Damn fun !!! Each time, these sports car will ride my ass for a brief minute after the race is over to see what the hell had just beat them. LMAO !!!!

now i totally understand where you are coming from and I am very excited about the turbo that could be available for us. I have funds here waiting on when the kit or whatever will be coming out to make my Type S the same. But.... i would just rather have luxury than to say i beat a Porsche or Corvette cause in the end you are still back in your luxury car that you bought from the beginning and really wanted. But hell yes the excitement of knowing a 4 door sedan whipping ass on sports cars is awesome and i cant wait to be doing the same. I guess i would be just as excited knowing my fully loaded sedan kept up with a Porsche. Cause i know if i had a Porsche and a 4 door sedan kept up with me i still would wanna know WTF he had whether he beat me or not. 40K running with 80K

You won't beat any Vette after the C4. You won't beat any non boxster/cayman Porsche. What high HP BMW were you dead even with? lol...

But that's the great thing. If they beat you, that's expected. I mean, it's a Vette vs. a TL. But, if you beat them, do you know how embarrassed they might be?

Would you like being a Corvette owner & hearing people ask, "Did you really lose to a luxury TL?"

I mean a Porsche is putting over 310 HP....for like a low end one.....I dont think his car would beat that with the lighter weight....its not even a Type-s. How about when you pull up in your Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and blow away all the sports cars.....AND while towing a BOAT!...then people will be turning heads!!!

Have you guys been following his thread.. his car is under 2.8k lbs and that's with him in it..

Think of it this way.. a C6 is fast in any form.. but how fast is it if it's towing a boat.. now think of the TL, Inacc just dropped the tow hook on the car..

okay just to grasp this turbo power...we can expect to smoke 335i/corvettes/cobra's/GTO's..etc from a roll??? so basically there is very little chance for any other car to beat the turbo TL unless it has major engine work done to it....damn this shit is FAST!!

lol as much as i like the tl....it will in no way be able to rip a vet...id love to see it but the power needed cannot be sustained by stock internals and the car is too heavy. id like to see the TL accomplish 200mph+ i dont even care how fast it can go in a 1/4 mile. 200mph is good enough for me and to see the needle pop on the speedo would be hilarious.....just to see that happen is satisfying enough.

^ maybe i got something wrong but "i hate cars" mentioned something about the turbo TL having a power-to-weight ratio of a corvette...doesn't that mean it hangs with the corvette? im sure it's all about the gear ratios too

As a rule, I do not race top end (100+). I enjoy 1/4-mile racing. The TL Diet has it's advantages in quarter-mile racing, not top end. Once you start getting into triple digit speeds, wind resistance becomes the primary obstacle and not inertia. If I can't entice someone into a race when we are below approx 35 MPH, I call it off (no race). I do stuff like 0-60, 30-90, or 35-100.

Corvette - Obliviously, it was not a Z06. My best guess is it was a 2004 Base Auto.

BMW - It was very new. I checked Bmwusa.com, and it looked similar to a 650. I remember it having a low roof, long, and big... and very attractive looking car.

Porsche - I know very little about the various models. I just know it was a Porsche, not new, not too old, and white color.

Me - In addition to the Diet, I am not stock.

Yeah, as light as your car has become in combination with the torque made from those mods, I wouldn't doubt for a second it's a very quick car.

650i, is at 360hp and TL is at 260 (SAE at crank)....his TL is at 2.8K lbs and 650i is at 3.8K lbs....

^ the specs I posted are for the 650i not M6.. the M6 / 6 series in general is a sexy car.. definitely not worth the money in terms of hp per $$.

My concern is of whether or not we're talking about smoking stock Corvettes/Cobras or modified ones. If we're talking about smoking stock Domestics with 9 psi, then I don't see a point in talking about smoking anything seeing as most Cobra/Corvette owners (here, anyways) have modded their cars in 1 way or another if they like to race.

If you are running around with 400+ HP and TQ at the wheels its who get on the gas first that is winning the race. Most Corvette or Mustang guys are not going to race you until it is too late(155MPH). I have come up on so many hot cars and they don't down shift enough or at all and think they can pull away. I ran a 650i BMW 3-4 times and even with the padles he couldn't get it right.

Take a ride on a boosted TL and you will see the car is a monster in the upper RPM range. Once the engine goes into vtec at 4k its a wild ride, you better have your vette reved up. The whine helps

I'm really interested in hearing feedback about torque steer on this baby.. I know it's been discussed but I remember taking turns from a stop in my buddies twin turbo 300ZX.. if you didn't monitor the turbo surge while you were on the throttle it could potentially whip you into a 360. I wonder how it'll act with fwd?
