Humm, FPro for the 07-09 TL-S ECU, this could get interesting especially after spending a couple hours this morning looking at the 04-06 TL ,03-07 AV6, and 08 TL-S wiring diagrams, cam and crank sensors and triggers, humm very interesting indeed

You guys are doing some amazing things... and jumping through some serious hoops to make this happen... for 6 committed buyers. I guess we now see Hondata's historical apprehension in working with this platform.

I sincerely hope the community responds to this opportunity a little better once these kits are built, tested, tried, and true. I know I might even get in line myself.

Keep at it fellas, I'm excited to see some mad scientist behind the wheel on this one.

actually paul, the 04 up TL 6spds come with hollow counter and mainshafts, while the 03 CL-s 6spd come with solid. why? i have no idea. maybe to save on material cost or some type weight reduction. if thats the case, i wonder if different, cheaper gear materials were also used in the revision.

all i can say is SIRSIG and Nick have had their j32a2 CL-s swaps in their 6th gens going on over 4 years now. heres a pic of our cars back in early 07, (before my j32a3 swap). we were regulars at the track that year

siggy at one point was pushing 370hp/320tq and nick was NA, but both of them beat the living hell out of their cars and till this day, have no tranny issues whatsoever. they have easlily over 100k miles on each one too. thats why i went the CL route this time and just an FYI, if you do decide to swap this trans into an earlier model, the pin where the cables go has to be located on the opposite side. or else 1st will be 2nd and 3rd will be 4th and and reverse will be up right, instead of down right and so on,,....

I'll be pulling apart a 05TL tranny on Monday to replace the 3rd gear syncros so I will be able to compare both, the CL-S may have better gear material but both have hollow countershafts, there is a tube where fluid is pumped thru to oil the bearings on the far side of the tranny.

The tube is part number 10 in the link below....

That's very good info! I wonder if we could be that lucky where the only mod required would be the earlier gen shafts. That is of course if they're interchangable.. But in that case I guess an entire trans replacement would be in order.

I'm cracking apart an auto next week when I get back in town. Pictures to follow.

HMMM such great info... i like how Hondata is now helping out along with J and R and NVA, IHC, and the rest of you. I was actually almost pulling the plug to get rid of my 08TL-S for a Jag XF-R but I am committed to this now and i am a DEF customer for the TYPE S 6spd Kit. Thanks to all making this happen!!!!!

This is great news about a possible flashpro. Unfortunately, I got rid of my civic before ever trying it, but I did help Hondata prototype the high boost flash for the ct supercharger and they definitely do not fuck around. Doug is all about making big power.

Not to jack, but with a flashpro we will be seeing even n/a bolt-on TLS's pushing 300whp. 8-10psi boosted upper 400's with great driveability will be a reality too. I've been keeping up with this thread for a bit and I didn't want to rain on anyones parade by saying what the FIC really is (huge piece of shit) and I'm glad to see that people won't be struggling to make power with a worthless tuning solution.

However i spoke with Dough and we had a long talk which led to him letting me know hes WILLING TO HELP JANDR WITH THE ECU PART OF THIS TURBO KIT yes you read right, weve been calling nd calling and finally hope ,i have info in the next paragraph so grab a seat....

Hes advice me that for the 2007 and up Acura tl typeS Acura switched ecu program or something of the sort with this been done he can make flash pro a plug play kit for these years ,yes just like the civics which is an awsome product........

Now for years 2004-2006 unfortunately the flash pro would not be compatible, however he could reprogram the ecu to accomodate larger injector ,timing ,which would in return reduce the amount of control we rely on aem to control ,which in return would require aem for fine tune or high horsepower application..

This is the guy who did ussi ecu, so he explained the complications of the ecus which he can fix but havent due to the demand ,which hes pretty much agreed to help us out we adviced him about our failure and setback which has put us in overdrive to get these delayed kits out and our budget will be larger by february which i hope will allow us to get this up for our cars, which is going to be a big break ,especially for the 2007 up Acura Tl ..................

Q.Did u wake up in a drem and start typin or this for real?
A.This is real and im sure we are going to work on this til we get it done with the help and interest from the forum ....we made it this far im sure were going to make this happen....

Q. So is this another delay for kit ?
A.No this would be done after we fix our shop car and get kits out..

Q.So what if i purchase kit and reflash comes out?
A.For the people who are currently waiting we would accomodate them to any future improvements.

Q.When is this schedule to start been in starting stage ?
A.I would have to say up to DOUGH but im contacting him again in a few weeks to get started on info and possibly testing im saying March for now for beginning stage...

Q.Why was the project dropped in the first place?
A.According to sources tuning became a nightmare with iat temps as high as 170 during driving with high compression kit was incomplete needed an intercooler and a few motor failures led to a hault..

Couldnt have gotten this far without your help so once again
and lets not forget if NVA-AV6 didnt have the skills for the aem fic to work we would all be stuck and i think i speak for all so NVA-AV6.........
so if hondata comes up with a reflash for the 04-06 ecu, then the aem fic is no longer needed? Im guessing we would have to send them the ecu correct?

I was looking through my avital remote start manual and noticed something pretty cool. Theres a mode called "short-run turbo mode" which will allow the car to run for 1,3,5 or 10 minutes after your reach your destination and remove the key. A built in turbo timer. I had this remote start for 3 years and just noticed this lol

As promised here are the pics of a 05 TL 6spd, it was pulled apart to replace a bad 3rd gear syncro, the last couple pics are of the syncro parts. I will also be pulling apart a 03 CL-S 6spd latter this week or next week for cleaning and powder coating and will post pics of it for comparison.

To me at least there does not appear to be any hardeneing of the gears or shafts, I think this would be a good first step si to first send the shafts and gears out for a good A2 (Air Grade 2) hardeneing then to cryo treating. Als three of the brearing are std ball, it would probaby be nice to find roller bearing replacements.

More like Thursday, it takes a good amount of time to check the gear alighnment and re-shim if necessary after replacing a gear set, then of course there is the fun of re-assembly , then of course it needs to get back in the car.....

LOL, be very careful of the counter shaft bearing, if you do not spread the retaining ring and try to bolt the case together you will be replaceing the other half of the case when you send the other bearing thru the 1/16-1/8" thick casting. Make sure you have the tools to set your diff lash or you will be screwed. be sure to mark what spring bolt came out of what hole, they are 3 different legnths (these are the 12mm head bolts that have the springs and balls that lock the shift arm positions, there are 6 of them. Getting the large shift arm to line up during re-assembly is fun, NOT. And I can not stress enough to check the shiming of the main shaft and diff, if you don't have the tools don't do it.

Well, here are the pics of a 03 CL-S 6spd....

Sorry, but the only differences I can see between this and the 04-06 TL-S 6spd are the additional crank sensor in pic 1 and the shift linkage attachement point on the large select lever in the last pic , if you look you will see another hole in the arm, this is where the attachment pin would go for a 3rd gen TL or 7th gen AV6. Both tranny shafts are just as hollow as the 3rd gen TL and the gears, ect do not seem to be of any better materials or hardening.
