Half way completed currently...

Props to the guy with the blue Acura LED Layout... Man that's crazy...

Here's my setup, it includes:

2 JL Audio 10W7's
1 JL Audio HD 600 for my Hi's
1 JL Audio HD 750 for my Lows

I'm thinking of adding another HD750 to double my wattage for the subs. Have an individual amp for each. The sound right now is VERY clean inside the vehicle.

Here's a pic.

I'm still not done with this system yet. Going to stick a leather panel inside and some red LED's in there as well. I'll post the finished product tomorrow or the next day.

i would highly recommend not doing that. the 10w7s best wattage is 375. max i did/would do is 500. 750 to each sub is complete over kill and you will blow the sub. also at 750 you will void your warranty.

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=5

or you could sell your 750 and get the 1000watt amp

Nah, you be surprized the beating certain subs can take. Im sure the w7 can take a good 700-800 watts of "clean" power

w7's are no joke. They can handle 1000W's very easily. Besides the audio center I buy my products from has my back on these things

You said you highly reccomend I don't do it. I don't listen to extremely loud overwhelming bass all the time. But it's really nice when the guy with his 10w0's rolls next to you bumping it and you turn yours up and shake his car apart. = P

Also at 750W I'm at the border line of having my warranty void. The sub also says in the description that thermal handling is 750W.

And like you said with a clean amp it probably won't void me at all.

I've never been a fan of ported bass.

I've always stuck with the fact that ported bass is poor mans bass = X

That's why ported boxes cost more than sealed boxes right? You can obtain a much better response curve with a properly designed ported box rather than a sealed box

ported is louder then sealed. sealed has better quality than ported.

ported is more expensive because they have to "make" chambers to allow air to flow it in.
sealed is cheaper because it requires no extra cutting. only cutting needed is to fit the sub in

They cost more because they're generally bigger than sealed boxes... -.- they also take slightly longer to make for JL subs when they are made right considering that have a snail type shape on the inside.

Also they create a ripple type bass rather than a wave.

Porting is the cheaper way to upgrade your shit. Basically. Building a box is not expensive my friend.

It just comes down to preference for hip hop I'd say ported for rock and double bass drumming I would say sealed.

It isn't poor mans bass if you know what you're doing I agree. An ideal system is a HD750 with a JL8W7 in a ported box. That rips harder than my system currently.

I get my equipment CHEAP.

I got my HD750 for 450$ and the HD600 for 400$

people need to realize that more subs doesn't always equal a louder setup

I will add a pic soon. I had a Diamond 12" sub in a ported 2 cubic foot box and a Hiffonics 1200 watt mono amp and a 1.5 farad cap added to my OEM system and it cranks tight low bass. I am adding 4 more tweeters soon.

Well anyway there are 3 amps hidden behind the side panels for now. Totally stealth. Another amp will go in there soon once i get around to it.

Under your pic, in the "Image Link Code" section of Photobucket, copy the link under "IMG Code" and paste that into your post.

Looks like a lot of hard work. Do you have a sub?

Also, that Dynamat would have been better used on the inside of the quarter panels than the strut towers. They already have dampening material on them.

These are old pics. There is dynamat covering all of the panels in the car now. Right now there are two 8s in the rear deck where the original sub was. Im working on putting 4 9s (4 dynaudio mw180s) in there right now. This is a hobby for me. Ive been installing for 13 years now but the industry just tanked a couple of years ago. So now i just do it for friends and typically for free or really cheap. Here are some pics of the current setup and the new subs going in.Name: 100_0683.jpg

I guess if you have the money to waste do it. Dynamat is overpriced and somewhat worthless.. I prefer to use velcro to minimize rattling of the wiring harness's and etc.

Why would you say something such as this? I stand behind the quality of their product 100%. However, I do agree that it's somewhat overpriced.
