i took off the factory clear plastic door light cover off and drilled a couple holes in the bottom portion (same diameter holes as blue led bulb.

I will post some pics, but it looks sick as fuck!!! like puddle lights that move as the doors are opened....

makes me feel like im stepping out of the car onto the red carpet...

FUCK ME! I wanted some new license plater LED. So I got these multi socket LEDs from VLED and come to find out they use the adapter plugs with the wire like this...

Can we use these anywhere else on our vehicles?

This what I should have got.

I put those leds in my domes without any issues. They work great even in the rear domes (socket is vertical in the rear)

Ok changed some LEDs yesterday and ran into some problems.

The door lights were installed fine. I used the WLED-xHP6 Wedge Base Bulb from superbright for both my map and dome lights. The rear lights worked fine. But when I installed them on the front map lights, the fuse kept blowing. And yes everything was off and the fuse was even taken out when I installed all the lights. Any solution to this? or should I go with a different LED?

Can anyone tell me which of these would be the brightest for the center console? I only see specs for one and I'm not sure it will fit.

Get the 6.99 ones..i got similar ones from superbrightleds. due to the way the bulbs are placed in the center console and glove compartment the 3.99 ones from vleds won't provide enough output

06 Switchbacks

For the V-Leds switchbacks for an 06 TL, when you're signaling, does the turn signal alternate between white and amber, or does the white completely turn off with only the amber blinking? I know they have this option for the switchbacks for the type s (version 2) but I wasn't sure if it was the same for the 7443 bulbs for the 06.

ok so i recieved my order from V-LED's yesterday, i purchased these:
V-LEDS HID WHITE 8 M-SMT 4W HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158 921 912 for my license plate and these:
2 HID WHITE SMT 5 LED LIGHT BULBS 194 168 158 2821 for my reverse lights.
the license plate bulbs are crazy bright, just what i was looking for, as for the reverse lights, not so happy with them. the light output isnt near what i thought it was going to be or near the amount of light needed to back up in dark conditions. maybe ill try and switch the bulbs and 'see' how that works.

P.s. **i may have a pair of reverse lights (2 HID WHITE SMT 5 LED LIGHT BULBS 194 168 158 2821) for sale in the near future**

So I just got my interior dome and door LEDs from superbrightleds.com and was changing them out. For some reason the rear passenger dome light does not come on though. I tried all four LEDs in there and none of them worked, but they work fine in other three dome lights. I also put back in the original factory lightbulb and that worked just fine, so I'm at a loss when it comes to troubleshooting this any further.

I thought I remembered hearing this problem in one of the other threads on changing out LEDs, but there are so many freakin posts I couldn't remember where I found it. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Need HELP, Rodando Red

So I just got my 04 TL, and it's Rodando Red with tan leather, does anyone have suggestions on colors for LED's? I have always loved the pure super white LED's, but if anyone has other suggestions for my color, please let me know. ALSO, I have no idea how many LED lights I need, nor where to order them for, so if anyone could, just please give me the basic run down on what to order (part number from websites) and to where the belong (dome, tail-light, etc.)

I know this thread explains it all, but it's taking me forever to filter through everything to comprehend it, so I figure I would type this up.

Your help will be greatly appreciated for this Acura Noob. =/

I was reading through the posts and I'm beginning to get a headache. I want to change the amber and the red output of the sidemarkers to white. Is this possible? My searching led me to the 1157 LED. is that right or am I barking up the wrong tree.

Thank you in advance

Edit... I see that 1157 is for the turn signal... I guess I'll just live with what I have.

For lights that are always on like the license plate you might want to check out these bulbs.

They have a metal heat sink that will help them last longer.

must be nice to be able to get free shipping in the US for vled and superbrightleds....

i have to pay 40 bucks on top of the initial price. since i'm in canada.

btw, if you order from superbright LED from Canada, make sure you get UPS EXPRESS. it will save you the 20 dollars UPS charges you for brokerage fees for UPS ground.

I have been searching for hours and researching and can't come up with a final decision on what to get, so I figured I would just ask it.
What would be good LEDs to get from superbright that would simply replace the stock lights.
I'm looking to get white LEDs but I don't want them too bright, probably just as bright as the stock.
Would the 4x wedge bulbs be too bright?

Thanks!! Much appreciated, I am definitely excited to do this project!

would this work?
WLED-x4 LED bulb
90 degrees

4 for domes
2 for doors
2 for vanity

or for the front domes would it be better to get these bc of the wide angle:
WLED-x5 LED Wide Angle LED bulb

Again, I don't am looking to just replace the color, not the brightness of the stock lights.

Thanks!

i think this thread needs to be broken down into 2 categories..

ballers and replacements..

those with money can pay 16-30 bucks for their multiple smd led boards.. and those that want the best bang for buck..

for those with superbrightled questions.

here is the LED you need for the dome, vanity, map lights

i got them in white.

what it looks like in my car.

Those with the rear dome light issue, pull the pins out of the leds a little and make sure they are nice and snug. turn the bulb around if you need to. verify that the bulb is pushed all the way into the socket. i had this problem and this fixed it for me.

for the trunk, i'd go with the vled boards, or go with this one

i think i'll be ordering one of these soon because i bought the t3 directional one for the trunk and i only light up half of my trunk

for the doors, i'd suggest getting WLED-xHP5 because it depends on what you want.. a spot light or something to fill the lense and omit a glow. i got the directional one for the door lights and they are bright and spotlight fine in the dark, but it doesn't fill the lense properly. i found out it's the same as the dome/map lights so you're good to go for that.

reverse light, same thing with teh doors, do you want a bright spot light or something to fill the lense.. they are the same connection type as the other lights, so if you want to fill in the lense, then a 360 bulb will do, but if you want a spot, i used these

they are plenty bright, but they have a hot spot and does not fill the lense completely.

the license i used the 921-x9 and it came out pretty good, the bulb mount itself is angled. so you will shine your bumper and the ground a long with your plate. it lights up most of the top of the plate. it's pretty good though but it's hard to judge though.

if i were to change anything here's what i'd get

wled-xhp5
2x dome, 2xvanity, 2xmap, 2xdoors, 2xreverse lights

wled-xhp6 d
1xtrunk

921-x9
2x license plate

Quick edit: i found the thread to be more about vled led boards then the superbrightled mini wedge 194. i hope my post helped someone because there was no definitive answer for the superbrightled alternative to the VLED leds. also, vled shipping to canada was ridiculously expensive. The thread is hard to look through when you're trying to find an answer. and no one ever response to questions.

In the license plate, these bulbs tend to flicker after a relativly short period of time. Look for something with a single LED and a heat sheild, like the SuperNova Kennedy suggests; they seem to last longer.

As long as you are only replacing stock bulbs in normally accessible locations (i.e.: map/dome lights, vanity lights, etc. If you are looking to replace the bulbs in your dash or steering wheel, you do need resistors.

Hey CdTrix, your post regarding the LEDs was helpful for me. I've a request. Can you take pictures of your car with the LEDs on at night (completely dark would be nice) and post the pictures here? I want to see what the superbrightled mini 194 looks like and how bright they are at night time.
