Read through most if not all the LED threads and couldn't find an answer so i'll ask....

From what i've read the 07-08 TLs use 1157 front turn signal bulbs instead of the 7443.

My dilemma:

There are two types of 1157 switchbacks for the 07-08 front turn signal bulbs.

1.) V-LEDS TYPE 1 DUAL COLOR WHITE/AMBER 60 M-SMT BULBS 1157 2057

2.) V-LEDS TYPE 2 DUAL COLOR WHITE/AMBER 60 M-SMT BULBS 1157 2057

Does anyone happen to know which of these if any will work with the 08 TL-S?

V-leds clearly says type 1 and 2 are different but doesn't say in what way or how they are different. Thanks!

if its anything like the TL, look at it closely, u should see little tabs that keep it in place. IIRC for the TL, you remove it from the top or side and then pull..the bottom acts kind of like hinges. sorry i couldnt be of more assistance.

when i bought mine there wasn't a type 1 or a type 2..there was just one kind and that was the one i bought. you may want to call them up and see if they can tell you what the difference is. They looks the same to me, except in the specifications it says the Type 2 is a 6000K color while the Type 1 does not state what it is

Ok just got clarification from Jake York at V-leds.

"Either one will work, they just operate differently.

Type 1 alternates white and amber when the turn signal is applied
Type 2 only the amber flashes when the turn signal is applied.

Hopefully that helps!

Thank you,

Jake York

Put some blue LED lights in... looks better in person, obv...

Easy to do, but the passenger side front wouldn't come out! Had to use pliers and ended up breaking the acura bulb. Oh well.

vanity covers are tricky. It's really hard to straight up describe it =X

you just gott play it around theres one thing that clicks and u pull it off after that

driver side you approach it from the right and passenger from left

just be careful not to use too much strength cause later on when u put it back it might

get lil loose

sorry for being so vague its been so long since ive done the thing haha =/

just tape ur screw driver, and when i did it i used 2 tools one flat metal to open up the gap and a paper clip (open it and make it longer) to get in there and snatch the thing out

thanks, the image below helped.
It still was a bitch, I think it was a bad design. There's no way you can remove that thing without scratching, the plastics..

i just installed 921-x9 leds from superbrightleds.com for my interior, reverse, and license plate lights. they all looked incrediable, but i am aware that many members on here have problems with leds for their license plate. Does anyone have issues with these 921-x9 bulbs for their license plate?

So, I called up the company that you ordered these from and asked if I could place an order for these bulbs over the phone. They told me that I couldn't but if I emailed them, they would make it available online for purchase. A few days after emailing, they sent me this link

http://www.e-bacs.com/usashop/produc...oducts_id=1139

So, I just placed my order, and it is a bit pricier than the ones at superbrightleds.com but according to your pictures, they seem to be alot better.

If anyone wants to order and doesn't live in Socal, you can order using the link above! The shipping is very expensive however, but I'm willing to pay it as I don't think I'll ever have to replace it like I used to with the ones from either superbrightleds.com or autoillumination.com

Enjoy!

thats the place where i bought them from locally. that bulb will fit the 4 domes, the door, the license plate and even the reverse lights (although its not bright to be reverse lights). if you can force it in a bit, it will also fit the trunk and the two vanity lights behind the visors.

this is what it looks like on the license plate housing:

Also I was looking at V-leds.com trying to put together an order and noticed that I don't really know the difference between for example an 18 led tower and a 24 led tower. No I know that how many leds are on there but I guess I just don't know which is better? Is it better/ brighter to have the most LEDS possible or somewhere in between? Please help.

more LEDs = more output. whether you choose one or the other, just make sure that the LED bulb will fit wherever you are trying to install it

They may be updating their site. Their seems to be some links that are broken now that weren't before. I'm sure it will be back up soon.

Dome supervision wire

someone posted that the wire to tap for the dome supervision is the "green/red" wire that is part of the green 5 pin plug rear of fuse box. Can someone tell me what I need to remove to access this?

superbrightleds.com is a good site to go for information but they sometimes have trouble matching the exact diaode color so you may have to send some back if they dont match. I had an issue when changing the license plate bulbs but they were very helpful and sent me a free replacement

I got 2 sets (2 bulbs per set) of the Luxer LED made by BRM. It was $26 per set. Very pricy. I was expecting it to be brighter than the www.superbrightleds.com - WLED-WHP which I use for the domes. I was a disappointed that it was only a bit brighter. Side by side with the WLED-WHP, you have to look directly at them to see which one is brighter. You can't see the difference based on the light casted.

^WOW NOW I SEE IT.. thanks so much.

WLED-xHP High Power LED bulb

i noticed the difference for the doors is a 921x9 and 921x12. the differences are the viewing angles, are most people using the 12 or 9?

It might work for the domes since it has reflectors. I have not tried it. I do not think it will work well for the license plate.

Go through the posts and see if they found issues with it as I think some had. I think some say they do not last that long. Make sure it is as bright or brighter than stock.

Ok so im officially confused. I want to get super white LED replacements for my 4 dome lights. I have been reading through this thread and there are so many conflicting views/links. Does anybody have the links for these lights from superbrightleds.com or v-leds.com?
