it says there that the superbrightleds are "warmer". i can see its a bit brighter, and so im assuming it doesnt cast that blueish tint (which i personally dont like anyway).

if thats the case (no blueish tint), im going for it

What's the difference between:

WLED-xHP High Power LED bulb
12 VDC Wedge Base bulb (194/168 type)
With 1 High Power LED
Polarized bulb, Available in Pure White, Blue, Green, Red and Amber

and

WLED-xHP6 Wedge Base Bulb
Miniature Wedge Base Bulb (194/168 type)with 6 High Power LEDs
12 Volt AC/DC, 360 Viewing Angle
Select LED Color

?

I have the wedge base bulb for my domes, but I'm wondering if the high powered one would be brighter?

I've used both, Personally depends on where you want your bulbs. For Direct light I'd choose the WLED-xHP High Power LED bulb, if you wanted more 360 light, i'd go with the WLED-xHP6. Overall brightness, I still think the xHP is brighter.

Since the diffuser over the LED is not clear (in either the glovebox or the center console) you can't see any type of blue tint. They both actually look about the same in color.

So, sounds like I should keep the HP6s for the domes, as I want the light dispersed, but get the HP for the license plate, as I want it in one spot.

Correct this is what I would end up doing if I were to buy LEDS for the first time.

I recently bought leds for my door lights, as well as all of the map lights. I installed the door lights without any hitch a few days ago, and went to install the map lights (front and back) a few minutes ago.

I started in the back. I took off the first cover, changed out the lights, and tested it, without any problems. Worked perfectly.

I took off the second cover, changed out lights, and tried to test it. Nothing. I went back up to the front, and tried to turn on all of the lights with the switch. Nothing. Door open, no lights come on at all. Not only that, but I cannot lock my car with the key fob. What's going on? Did I possibly short something out? The headlights work, and the car starts fine. The battery was swapped out about a month ago. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

try to swap out the bulb with one that works. if it does, you may just need to adjust contacts with a screwdriver or something so the power will get to the bulb. sorry, thought you were just having a problem with the bulb.

did you check your fuses?

Thanks for the advice. My initial thought was the fuse, but for some dumb reason I dismissed the idea. Regardless, the fuse is blown. But that leads me to my next question...does that mean I potentially ordered the wrong leds? Here is what I put in...

For the 2 doors: 921-x12 LED Wedge Base Bulbs
For the map lights: WLED-xHP6 wedge bases

Is it a fluke that the fuse went? I haven't had time to get to the store to buy new fuses yet...

no its not a fluke. fuses can be blown while switching bulbs - its not a big deal. when i changed out all my bulbs I didnt blow a fuse, but then when i changed out my center console and glovebox i blew that one..didn't do anything differently - it just a surge of current due to the installation of a new bulb while it is already drawing current (ON) that causes the fuse to blow.

just remove the fuse before you start replacing the bulbs and then reinstall when you are done

EDIT: the bulbs you chose are fine.

Sorry, I realize that fuses can and will blow. I was more just asking if it was a function of the leds that I bought.

I bought a new fuse tonight, and went to install it after all of the bulbs were already in. It blew immediately. Any thoughts? I'm kind of at a loss now...

i hate to ask you this, but did you check if the new fuse has the right current rating. The fuse you replaced should be 7.5A.

If the fuse is right, then it seems like you are shorting out somewhere. Go back and take a look at the LEDs you installed, check their contacts - see if any of them are bent which could cause a short. from what you stated earlier, try ur rear dome lights first - the 2nd one you installed looks like your culprit. if you want take that LED out (don't replace it with anything), replace the fuse and turn on the interior lights. If the lights work, you know it is that LED. You can verify by installing one of the stock bulbs back into that socket and trying. If that blows a fuse, then it could possibly be another LED or a bad socket.

let us know what you find.

So i'm about to put in my order from superbrightleds.com and have (4) WLED-xHP bulbs in pure white for my domes and (2) 921-x12 bulbs for the doors. However, for these bulbs there is a choice between cool white and warm white. I want the one that is closest to the pure whites in the domes. What would you recommend?

Yes, I do have a 7.5A replacement. I'll try the one at a time method to find the potential break, but need to go buy another set of fuses...of course my local auto parts store only had a variety pack, with only one 7.5A in it...and they only had one of those packs. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll provide an update later. I promise I'm not this helpless!

yup they're not bright like stadium lights, and not too dim like a weak flashlight. just right for me.. definitely an improvement over stock

the white is very crisp and subtle

As suggested, I removed the 'culprit' led and replaced the fuse. Everything seemed to work fine for a moment, as I was going around manually testing all of the bulbs. But the fuse blew again, with only 3 of the leds installed after working, at least for a minute...what in the world could be going on? I'm really at a loss at this point.

You have the part numbers you got for the doors and license plates? What do you use for the vanity and dome lights inside?
