Maybe that's why they dropped the Anthracite. I was hoping that the Cool Blue would be available for the '07 TL but maybe white would be better.

The styling on the TL-S is too busy. So many things pull your eye and there's no flow between segments. The XM antenna looks terrible and while I really like the new mirrors the fog lights and the new lower grills make them look bad, then add the complicated wheel design. All these items seem to be stuck onto the car instead of integrated with it. Afterthoughts. The stylists have demonstrated a lack of good taste and need to rethink who their customers are and their approach to their most important model. The current styling of the TL has been described by some journals as "forced" but all these add-ons bring it to an all new level of tacky. TL-S is starting to look really ugly. It should be elegant and sophisticated not like an older Tiburon with that overly complicated wing.

I am glad to hear about the addition of MP3 and AUX in because they are overdue.

What's the deal with 3 spoke wheels ? Allot of guys have complimented the design of the new steering wheel but wheel does it really make a big difference ?

I'm convinced that some type of info is going to be displayed in that AUX box. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see what Acura has to say about it.
You can keep your hopes up, but I gaurantee nothing will be displayed in that box.

1) The current Acura Musinlink displays "CD-C" with 6 boxes which you can use to very funkily control the Ipod search selections. That screen never changes either, nor does any Ipod data show on it.

2) There's no way for Ipod data to be displayed, becasue there's no data connection cable.

3) Most importantly, my buddy has a 2006 TSX. It has an AUX port. It does the exact same thing... blank box that say AUX.
We just test drove a Nissan Quest ( minivan), it's actually quite nice... It has an AUX port, and does the exact same thing as the TSX does.

Not trying to dash your hopes, but I'm 99.999% sure that's all it's gonna be. The .0001 is based on the fact I haven't seen it myself in a TL.

Well, I don't think there is any conspiracy here to hide Aux features. From a techy point of view, it's probably the same box outline used when other elements are up on the screen and they just cleared it for the Aux port because there is nothing to display. That AUX port is going to be an Audio-In ONLY port. No extras, at least for an iPod.

Eboney/silver leather Autoweek interior color in pic's of TL S. Was looking closely at the auto week pics and on the rear seat center section you can see the small holes in the leather (like the TSX) Since the only leather availavle on the TL that has the small holes is the eboney/silver leather the autoweek pic's must be of that interior

I hate the leather seats on the TL, they look so cheap, the accord has nicer seats even.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but I bet that quad exhaust with that 3.5L engine will SOUND pretty sweet...

If comptech starts production on the 3.5L supercharger .. it should make that engine pretty bad-ass... and may have applicability to the MDX and RL .. would be a nice deal.

The bump in hp is not the the only thing to look at in the 3.5L TL-S engine .. the hp and torque curves in ANY engine improve with increased displacement. So I bet there is more hp and tq available longer and earlier on in the powerband in this new 3.5L engine.

I do agree that the heft 3700lbs isn't helping ANYTHING.

Haven't seen enough pix to know for sure, but if it's like most "quad exhausts", it's just finishers put on there for looks, so the sound isn't really affected.

I wonder if they're going to add the Low Windshield Washer fluid indicator to the U.S. model like the Canadian one's had all along.

I've been thinking about the TL-S exhaust myself... And I get a feeling that there's gonna be a pretty fair amount of exhaust note from the pipes. For some reason I'm expecting it to be more audible than the regular TL but not quite as loud as a G35 Coupe. Probably on par with the G35 Sedan.... We'll see!

RSA_Secure, thanx for clarifying that up for him for me.

I guess the question to y'all is how many think we could see a hybrid TL on the 09' model ? OR do you guys still think a turbo will be added instead ? Is it possible to have both ?

I also would like to hear fron y'all on guess's of what new technologies we might see on the 09' ? Do you guys think the TL will get ventilated seats finally, SH-AWD, has been mentioned several times. What about a 7.1 channel DVD-A ELS surround sound with like 500 watts. It just seems the competitors keep raising the bar. I also and wishful for swivel headlamps and adaptive cruise control. The question will remain if Honda can deliver a finished product that is good enough in premium trim to absorb any price increases on the redesign 09'.

Thanx,

Rocky

For the 09 model, I think Acura will use a turbo in the TL with probably the small displacement it has now (around 3.2-3.5 liters). Acura will NO way bring a V8 to the TL, a first for a honda. The first V8 will have to drop in to a SUV or truck, i.e Ridegeline. And i highly doubt Acura will use a Hybrid engine for the new TL

No but that seems pretty doubtful if they really did stop production of the 2006 TL's in July. Plus, isn't the TL their best selling model? That just doesn't make any sense to me they wouldn't have the 2007 available in Sept - Nov timeframe.

Not sure where this rumor came from...
The standard 2007 TL will be on schedule just fine, surely. The TL-S, with it's new features and engine, may be delayed (i.e. it's plausible) given it's one off "special edition" nature.

but I don't know any more than the next guy.

The TL Type S should come out right away it only has 2 years left so the sooner the better if anyone wants at least 2 years out of it, I'm hoping cuz I go on a 2 year lease with my cars and it no good to me then if I want a 09 TL why would they go that route.

Effin paddle shifters...

Out of all the pictures I've seen of the TL-S, I haven't seen any with a "regular" manual shifter!! What's up with that?
Am I the only one who thinks that a TRUE driving experience comes from a REAL manual? Paddle shifters ain't nuttin but a fancy AT....hell, my f@#$ Hyundai has that!!!
I was really looking forward to getting a TL-S, but if I'm stuck with paddle shitters then I'm gonna have to go G35 next year!

Anyone else feel the way I do? so far, everyone seems positive about them so maybe I'm just not getting it.

I was told this by my dealer (whom I've purchased two Acuras from in the past 2 years).

Trying to re-confirm but he's been pretty good with dates and details thus far, and clearly he'd prefer to sell me a Type-S sooner rather than later.

I agree thoses wheels look as if they have nothing to do with the car, they are the only grey thing on there, if they did the other trim parts on there in the same color as an opt, then maybe not so bad, and its not that they are bad wheels they, just clash in color

if anyone has seen the wheel design they started using on the 01 Grand Prix's with the 3 spoke, after using the 5 spoke for a few years...something like that would be cool on the TLS a fat 3 spoke design. :gheywave:

Sort of, paddle shifters and trip-tron are just for play anyway, the computer system over rides most of it, its a waste!

Agree...
and I've been saying that all along. Lexus pulled the same thing with the IS350. Over 300Hp and ONLY a tiptronic auto. NO manual option.

Now I'm not saying a manual is not gonna be available for the Type-S, but I haven't seen ANYTHING to confirm it will be.

No manual wold be a bullet in the head in terms of performance respect, at least IMO.
