So you have a 2006 sensors on your 2007? I think that's your problem, 06 have different sensors than 07-08. I read somewhere than they are different

My bad, I checked the part number and they are the same. Maybe the sensors are broken?

maybe there wasn't any TPMS sensors on the aftermarket wheels and the guy before learned to just drive with the light on the dash. What wheels did you buy?

Welcome Juan!

I'm quite certain these aftermarket wheels you purchased were not equipped with TPMS. The seller would usually advertise something like that since they cost around $100 for all four.

You have two options. One is to deal with the error message all the time and just keep driving. It isn't a big issue, just an annoying "i" indicator on the dash all the time and the MID won't tell you if your tire pressure is low so it would be safe to check the tires manually every so often. Second choice is to purchase 4 TPMS and get them mounted. In order to do so, I'd take it to a tire place to get them installed. The reason so is because they have to break the bead between the tire and wheel so that they can replace the valve stem with the TPMS. If your aftermarket wheels don't fit the factory TPMS, you can buy mounting kits that wrap around the wheel allowing them to fit.

Best of luck!

I'll probably rock my winters till close to the end of April. It wont be warm enough to cause any excessive wear that hasnt been already done from this mild winter.

Soo i went to alberta honda fountain tire and canadian tired.. Alberta honda told me
I didnt have sensors in my tires and that i "needed" them cause
It would screw up the computer and all this stuff anyways they were charging 500 for parts tools and labour... I went to fountain tire and canadien tire to get different outputs n they said honda was just trying to make money out of me n they only thing i wouldnt know is when my tires need air cause theres no sensor so the computer wouldnt know which is fine by me cause i have a tps these guys said its not important at all n if they were me theyd just leave it... The light is soo annoying but im not payin 500 bucks for it
So i think im just gona leave it at this...
Anyone has more opinions or outputs??
Thanks

Did you take the time to read my post above?

Yes if a dealership suspects they have an unknowing customer they'll try to milk them for extra money. It is a dealership after all. Canadian Tire and Fountain Tire are correct. The 04-06 TL's didn't have TPMS so it's not like they revamped the computer system in the 07-08 TL's to accommodate the TPMS. It's not a big deal not to have them but I was annoyed by that indicator as well. Hence why I bought (4) new TPMS and got them installed on my winter wheels. If I recall correctly, they cost around $130 shipped from one of the vendors here.

you don't have to do that yourself. If you find sensors from vendors here, 130$ isnt bad. And Ed the tire guy can out those in for you for cheap, 40$ lets say, and you are good to go. There is no resetting of computer or anything like that. Vinsiniti got it all done for even cheaper than what i just said.

I don't think there's such thing as "resetting the computer" for the TL TPMS. I've heard it has to be reset for other vehicles where you have to take it into the dealership but with our cars, I don't think so. Or should I say, from my experience there was no computer resetting necessary. I had 4 brand new ones that I put on 04-06 TL wheels and the MID read it within seconds. There is no problem switching from my TL-S wheels with 4 completely different sensors to the winter set up. The MID reads it like anything else and gives me the PSI readings. It's not expected you do this yourself, unless you have a tire mounting machine in your garage

If you're looking for a fix, buy the 4 TPMS from a vendor here. It's much cheaper purchasing the parts online. Find out if your wheels will require the mounting ring for the TPMS and get them installed at a tire shop. It's not too difficult, just a hassle. It's worth it if the "I" indicator annoys you as much as it did for me.

Haha yeah Ed hooked me up so he did it on the house. All I had to do was buy the sensors and go visit him.

I always put shell 91 in mine. it's more expensive but I didn't care. Don't put 87 in it EVER. My mom did it once when I gave her my car and my check engine light came on

No kidding, the quads seem to fit perfectly for the rear end. Those cannons don't suit the back for me. Plus they slightly touch the bumper since they're so huge if you're anal about that.

What kind of maintenance? Stuff like oil change, ATF change, cabin air filter, engine air filter, and PS drain and fill can all be done in your own garage with a few tools. I didn't know how to do any of this stuff before I got my car, but with the help of members and the amazingly thorough DIY's on this site, I've done so much more than I thought I could.

The owner's manual recommends to use premium, even when you open the gas door on the cap or inside of the door it says to only use premium. Not too sure why the previous owner wouldn't. I stick to only Shell V-Power since I like to gain air miles

That's because they're super cereal. A lot of the reasoning over there can be explained as such, "because race car"

I often don't even bother posting over there. A lot of threads do provide the lulz though.

Posted in the thread about headcount for members going to Driven in Calgary. I posted a link to a coupon for 3M blue tape for those that wanted to tape up their cars for the drive down. Somehow that translates to spam and a ban i guess..

Wonder what Sanjay is gonna run. I would go with 20mm up front and 25mm in the back with rolled flat rear fenders. Drop off course is a must

I may have (2) extra 25mm spacers if they're too wide for my front.

I'll be dropping my car this Sunday at Ricky's shop. I think I'll leave the winter wheels on for at least another week or two since I don't want a repeat of the gong show recently.

how low are you gonna go? I say 2". And you will have to roll those fenders if you want to run spacers

Yeah definitely looking at around 2". Don't want to be slammed but not looking at an excessively conservative drop either. Oh fudge, didn't take rolling spacers into account. I thought it was going to fit flush with the right spacers. Recommend a place? Will I need all four corners done or just the rears?

I know rears for sure with 25mm, but don't know about fronts. garage works or by yourself. I don't know who else does it

Nice pickup Sanjay, now drop that baby.

Vince, I can't wait to see it dropped with spacers and all.

I might put back the summers this weekend granted I get my studs replaced. If it snows, I already arranged something for my transportation to school.
