I got a question for everyone, what does everybody use to listen to music?
I'm getting sick of my FM transmitter with all the stupid fuzz and distortion and since all TL's have a convenient tapedeck, I was thinking of getting a tapedeck instead.
Anyone know of a good one/brand? It'll free up that plug for my GPS =)

@Arthur - You can get the "value" zkw-r lenses from theretrofit source for $25. They have surface imperfections that don't effect the quality of the light itself. It's what I got.
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=136

As for music, I just make my own mp3's and play them.

says the guy who can play mp3s on his car stereo. 04-06 can't.

I had a cord plugged into the back of my stereo, and it was connected directly. No FM trans. And it would play when I press CD button twice. I am pretty sure that isimple will do the same except there will be no display on the stereo without the XM button.

Ohhhh lol my bad. *Ding lightbulb goes off in head* that's why so many people need an isimple.

I hope you have a heated garage Arthur. If not, wear a lot of layers since it's supposed to get really cold. I'm lucky I did my whole tear down when the temperatures were still hovering above 0.

I wouldn't pay someone to do it, I'm sure they would charge an arm and a leg since it does involve quite a lot of work.

Here is what I followed: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/f-051-diy-video-how-remove-center-console-lower-dash-glove-box-733555/

Make sure you sort all the screws and plugs appropriately otherwise it will be a gong show when you want to put it all back together.

It was easily a few hours to do it. The glovebox area was easy for me since I had already taken it apart once. The hardest part for me was the vent area where the clock and heat displays. I was pushing up at that part for a good 15 minutes. It finally came off but it looks like something broke along the way. It all fits back perfectly fine though.

Plus for some reason mine had a few extra screws here and there that weren't pointed out in the video, must be random additions to the 07-08 models.

are you guys talking about taking out a stereo to plug in iSimple? I don't think I took my glovebox off when I took my center console apart. And I did it a few times actually.

^ I read somewhere that all you have to do is video 1-3 (remove the aluminum trim and side trim on the driver side) if you have small hands. My question is, how are you going to route the ipod/aux cord to the center compartment?

Mind to give some pointers/steps Myron?

Arthur you have navi right?

what do you mean how you are gonna route it? To get to the back of the stereo to plug anything in you pretty much have to take your whole center console apart. So at that point, you have room to put the isimple anywhere you want, and put the cable anywhere you want.

you pop off the silver trim, undo all the screws under the trim, 2 screws under the arm rest that bolts it to the floor, and slide back the arm rest. There might be so wiring that needs to be unhooked but that's just clips. And then the rest of the center console should just be held in by clips and some screws. it's not that hard I don't think. I did it a few times when I took out ipod cable to replace it. And then again when I put the cable through the little compartment under stereo. It was in the arm rest area and I didn't like it there.

Yeah the reason I went through taking everything apart was because I wanted to see what would look good wrapped in CF. During that process I also found out a lot of the surfaces on the interior don't like to bond to di-noc very much.

Side note, just ordered a pair of D2S 6K Morimoto 3Five bulbs for my headlights from theretrofitsource. My lights look strange at night since everything is a slightly different color. My switchbacks are 6K, headlights are 4300K (distorted color now since they've color shifted), and fogs are 4300k? (whatever stock is). I have a set of 6K fogs but got too lazy to install and now it's ridiculously cold to do anything in the garage. Until spring I suppose.

Also, Arthur if you're going to be opening up your headlights in the spring, I can sell you some of the sealant I got. It's the Nissan butyl stuff, same sealant that the headlight vendor JnC uses. That stuff was insane. Barely had to use any and it perfectly sealed both of my headlights. It may also help to get some of those moisture packets to add to what's already in there.

glad to hear that the headlights are holding up. That butyl stuff is insane. I regret not getting that for my headlights, but now it doesn't really matter.

Vince, I'm not sure if I'm going to mod my headlights. I'll let you know. How much did you pay for the HID bulbs?

I got mine for $70 shipped. They also screwed up on my order and sent me the wrong bulbs. Good customer service tho, everything worked out fine.

Oh I'd love to mod my headlights. But I don't have a clue which one would look good on a white TL. I browsed the got WDP thread and nothing appealed to me at all. Any opinion?

black out chrome, leave the orange, and paint the signal area with black chrome so it's still reflective. Being black chrome behind the orange will make it look like it's darker orange, and then you just stick some switchbacks there for better light output. I will find some pics and show you what it looks like. JNC did it on a white TL and it looks sick. That's what I was gonna do this summer if I had kept the TL

Black chrome sounds good. Post pics when u find it. Where do we buy black chrome paint anyways?

Speaking of black chrome, i just ordered the black chrome
emblems from heeltoe because i think the black emblems wont look good on 07-08 tail lights.

I think this is the way you should do them up, or we should do them this summer if I am around. I was gonna redo mine this summer just like these. And I dont know if these were black chrome, but it's pretty gloss black.

Those look good, although I still dislike that amber. Amber delete ftw!

Yeah definitely get the zkw-r lenses and switchbacks. I have the type 2's which blink amber and stay white when the headlights are on.

Damn isn't that emblem like $100? Are you going to rebadge your car with the black chrome "Acura" and "TL" or just put on the "A" symbol? With the new emblems, you really have to black out your roof now.

^Just an amber hater are we? :P Yea 100$ for just the "A" lol. About the black roof, not a fan. But who knows. haha. possibilities are endless. haha. I just want to do something to make my car stand out. Roof spoiler, emblem, headlights, and different colour of lug nuts should do the trick.

Myron, I'm going to bug you this summer!

Haha you know it!

Your car already stands out from the noise it makes. Post pics when you get the roof spoiler in. I want to see how big of a pita it would be to wrap it in CF. I'm still debating on whether or not to buy one for myself.
