Hey guys, trying to install the iSimple into my 04 TSX right now and I'm having some troubles. The blue 14 pin connector from the factory doesn't fit the iSimples female end...any idea? I have the male end of the iSimple plugged in.

Thanks for getting back to me Gnuey_M. I'll have to see what price I can get from the shop I'm going into on the 9th. I need to get my oil changed and I've recently started having a random leak.

Sadly, yes I think so. Although I keep checking my fluids and don't really notice anything dropping. I hope it's something minor. I'm at 100 XXXKM. I don't look forward to getting the timing belt in the spring. Too many expenses on maintenance!

it's around 800$ with parts and all. Those are the quotes I was getting from some shops. Also I did it at 145000km, so I am sure you will be fine for a few more years if you don't wanna do it next year.

Isn't it recommended in extreme weather conditions to get it done at the 100 000km mark? I guess I'd prefer to get it done sooner than later otherwise I'd keep putting it off. I will definitely buy the parts from the vendor so hopefully that lowers the cost a bit.

it's recommended around that time yea, maybe 110-120k. Parts from the vendor are gonna be 350-400$ shipped, and then 4-5 hours labor that actually takes 2 hours haha But that's what mechanics want. Took me and a mechanic 2 hours to do it.

whats with all the leaks? my rear main seal is gone! been like that for the past 30 k...its to expensive so gonna hold on to it until she really goes or when i do my clutch!..
@sanjay...is it engine oil leaking? cause i had leaks around the p/s pump and reservoir, ended up being the cheap factory hose clamps leaking so i put regular gear clamps on there and it solved the problem..

Winter driving has been fine so far. Heat takes quite a while to warm up on cold days but oh well. We've been lucky since there has only been one major snowfall so far.

So I've been reading around a bit more about coilovers and it seems like for someone who has some mechanical knowledge, it can be done. Lol anyone interested in tackling a coilover install with me next spring? I'm thinking I drop the car first and see how I like it with stockies. Most likely will need some spacers so the wheels don't look sunken. After that, it's a toss up between wheels and custom a-spec.

For wheels, it would be a bit of a pita since I would want to put the Blizzaks onto the TL-S wheels and get rid of the 04-06 stockies. Then I would most likely need new tires for the new wheels.

For custom a-spec, I would have to get the 07-08 a-spec front end, have it painted KBP and hacked up so that it fits on the TL-S front end. Then it would be TL-S side skirts and rear.

I can see both options adding up to well over $1000 so I'll be choosing only one. Thoughts?

coilovers are not too hard to install. Me and Justin did my suspension swap, and I had to swap the top hats off and that takes time too. Most of the coils come with top hats and it's all pre-assembled, you just take the old suspension off, put new one on and done. It's pretty easy actually.

I would suggest you get the kit first. You already have spacers for the stock wheels, and lowered TLs look nice with stock wheels if they are spaced out. You may be able to get a used base lip for cheaper than new one. You have to paint it and hack it anyway.

What he said. You need to find a good body shop to do the retrofit. It will look really clean though.

Hmm sounds like I may know someone who can help with the coilover install than. Poke poke Myron lol.

Yeah I'll check the BM every now and then to see if anyone is selling a used front 07-08 a-spec. Although shipping may kill any potential savings I have from a brand new one. There is a WDP 07-08 front a-spec that was recently sold for $150. I imagine shipping isn't cheap though since it's such a large part. Do you guys remember how much it was for just the front a-spec lip brand new?

Wait, if you are going to buy the rest of the kit, then you can tell Ack that you want a KBP TL-S sides, rear lip, and just a 07-08 base front lip on any colour. He will sell it for 780$ shipped with taxes and everything I believe. I did that when I bought my kit from him. WDP base front, side, and tl-s rear.

O rly? I imagine I could go that route, paint it myself and find a shop to do the install. How is your front a-spec holding up this winter? I would be worried of hitting a snow bank and cracking it. I think Justin mentioned he took off his front a-spec for the winter and will put it back on in the summer.

My front lip is doing fine so far. I try to be as cautious as possible, I even try to avoid every manhole in our subdivision. One time, I was sitting on a stop light and saw a huge amount of snow on my lane after the intersection. Since there were no vehicles behind me, I gunned the reverse and switched lanes. hahahahaha

Paint it yourself? I've read it isn't too difficult. Take your time then if you want it to turn out looking almost new, wet sand and polish it.

Lol those sold in like 2 hours. Not surprising seeing as how they were half off retail.

Sanjay this sounds like the PS leak you described: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/attention-tl-type-s-owners-07-08-power-steering-hose-leak-827600/

I need to check and see if that's actually my same issue too.

I don't think anyone makes them. Try black market but they are hard to come by. Before it was easy to get them because everyone was taking them out, and now people like them again so it's pretty impossible to find it. You can get the all clear one from one of the vendors but it's pretty expensive

if you can't get any, you can always dremmel half of the stock orange ones off, and put it back. Has similar look to it. Someone has done it already. Take a look at this: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/3gtl-headlights-modded-like-type-s-835290/

^we shall see, I hope I can find a real one.

Also, spotted this at school. Aftermarket tail lights and aftermarket exhaust. I'm guessing comptech exhaust.

Arthur here is a link to the one the vendor sells: http://www.uniquestyleracing.com/20actlclhedi.html
There was a lengthy thread on it before where people discussed how it looked and fitment.

I still think the type-s ones have too much amber. Hence why I wrapped mine in CF! Amber delete FTW.

Had some fun tearing apart my interior earlier today:

Wrapped some trim pieces in CF. It's a nice change from the stock look.

I reconnected the navi and radio hoping somehow it would fix my burnt out lights but obviously it didn't change anything. I'll be driving like this tomorrow to the shop to see what they can do. Maybe this means they won't charge me as much labor since I tore the whole thing apart already
