Guys, I have some bad news to report. My baby's fucking hurting right now, I got into an accident which was my fault entirely T__T.

I rear ended a fucking Santa Fe, I took most of the damage while he got a couple cracks in his rear bumper...
I fucking hate my life right now, since I only got 1 way cover for insurance...

@Arthur - Haha I wouldn't mind getting those axis shines but I'll most likely be getting XXR 527's next season. I want concave wheels!

@Justin - Lol right. The only place I have is my garage. I can get one of those butane powered heaters that look like a cannon and run it in the garage. How many hours is the install? If it's not too long I think we would be kept warm by the heater.

@Sanjay - Alright I'll go in store and check it out. Thanks buddy.

@Aaron - Damn that's shitty. At least you're okay though. What's the story behind the accident? That looks like an expensive fix.

Aaron, I would go with a 07-08 base front end when you're fixing that car. Might as well upgrade

This. That blows man. But on the other side, the TL did protect you. Just look at it as the opportunity to get the updated front end.

Thanks guys, my friends auto body shop is going to help me fix my car. I'm just worried about the insurance.

As stupid as it sounds, I got distracted. Another black TL was driving besides me and I looked at him for a quick second and before you know it bam, I hit.

@Myron, what was your accident like when you were in the 2G TL?

Shitty deal man! For a vehicle like ours, its always best to have full coverage, for instances like this

both air bags deployed in my car and the car was a little more smashed than yours. And it was a 5000-6000$ bill I can't remember exactly. Also one way insurance so it was out of my pocket

Has anyone ever had to replace the lights for their radio? I'm referring to the area that I've circled in red. I've searched around but haven't found a conclusive answer. Is it strange that all the lights went out at the same time? I looked at 2 acura parts sites but they don't list any lights for this display.

damn man, 11 grand? they must have given you a list of things they will replace right? that's like 90% of what you paid for the car dude. I would scrap it and try and get some cash from it or something, I doubt that it's worth fixing. Then take that money and get something much much cheaper. Post up more detail pics if you have any

That sucks aaron. That blows.

Vince, you should be able to replace the lights. The lighting for my auido controls on my steering wheel is toast too.

Ouch Aaron, looks like you're going to be declaring that car a write off. You could probably try to swap the intakes and get some money back off of that if it wasn't damaged at least.

is the frame bent on the car?

Vince, I don't know if you can just replace those bulbs, I am sure you can find some somewhere. My buddy was replacing them on his prelude and it was pretty simple besides taking out the stereo (on this car it's gonna be a pain in the ass).

Well I took it to my friends Eddie's shop and hes going out of his way to help me fix it. He's going to try to keep the cost as low as $7000. If not, I'm scraping it and getting a beater civic then...

From what they checked out, it was hit hard but not hard enough. The radiator seems okay, its just bits and pieces that are missing and they need to replace a lot of parts but generally speaking its "okay".

The frame wasn't bent at all :S, since I hit a SUV, most of the damage went to the top of my car...

7 grand for that repair even though no air bags deployed? That still sounds expensive as hell. Perhaps you can try to buy some parts through vendors and provide them to the body shop. I wouldn't doubt that they're charging a crazy amount for parts like the bumper, hood, and fender. One headlight is going to cost like more than $500 the last time I checked though.

Yeah, I'll see how things go when they put down a firm estimate.

If its not seeing my way, I'm going to scrap the TL use whatever money I get back and just get a beater civic =(.

@arenham...i feel your pain bro!!

@vince...i got couple lights out on the steering, side mirror switch and passenger heated seat switch but its weird how yours all went out around the stereo area...

BTW guys has anyone have bought foglights from ebay and used HIDs in them? did it melt the housing or anything? was the lens plastic? how did they fit? I am still on the fence regarding the front bumper conversion because the OEM foglights+harness is crazyy expensive!! thanks in advance guys!!

@Aaron - Lol if you get rid of the TL would it be possible for me to milk some parts off of it? Nothing major, just some plastic pieces.

@Ricky - I've read about how replacing the steering wheel lights can be a big pita. If you go replacing one, might as well replace all of them so you don't have to open it up again in the future. There are quite a few threads where people have done LED conversions for their lights. It looks pretty cool but way above me in terms of electrical talent. Yeah it's not like my lights went out a few here and there. The entire unit is gone. I'm not sure if this has to relate to it, but today for some reason my navi asked me for my code twice. Both times was upon starting the car. I thought it only requests the code when the battery has been unplugged. My car was only sitting in between work.

park the TL and just get the parts you need of the junk yard and put it together yourself over the winter. Or strip the interior, sell it and take that money to fix it up and use it as a track car hahaha

@Vince yeah for sure man, you can get first dibs

@Myron I could do that but I don't know if I have the know how by myself to do hardcore mechanical stuff on a car yet, I can barely do an oil change by myself XD.

I especially don't wanna hassle people...since I fucked up so I see it as I should own up to my mistake

But we'll see what happens in the coming weeks.

If any of you guys wanna take a look at my car, its parked at 66 Auto Body shop on 67 Street and Yellowhead trail.

So my friend Eddie is going to put my car back together slowly. He's gonna attempt to replace whatever parts are needed from another car/junker Acura.

As for the parts like the hood, side panel, headlights front bumper, etc. Can I order all that stuff through the vendors here?

@Aaron - Glad to hear you'll still be rolling in a TL. Yeah definitely purchase from vendors here. The price for some of the parts in comparison to locally are ridiculous.

@Ricky - I need a sick cart like that for my detailing lol. I'm not that mechanically inclined so tools aren't exactly my strong point.

I checked the battery. There was a little bit of corrosion building on the battery and the connections so I cleaned it off with a wire brush. Also tightened the connectors but it didn't change anything. I checked fuse number 5, it was labelled as radio but it's fine. I checked a few other fuses and they are fine too. This is strange, I'll make a thread in the "Problems & Fixes" section to see if anyone knows what's going on.

@Vince - yeah hopefully I'll be able to! Just don't know where to start right now. What to order and who to order from. I'm kind of retarded with the vendors there's so much to search for and Arthur gave me a user AckTL05 but I'm like what?

PM ackTL05, he's a vendor on here for OEM stuff. Best as far as I know, but there are other OEM part dealers on here. Look in the vendor section of the black market.
See what the prices are for the big things...fenders, lights (is it both? And I would go with DEPO ones, saves you over 500$ over OEM), bumper, hood... If you buy from them, parts may come painted already so that will save you A LOT of money. You can check out part yards in edmonton for parts as well: blackgold and hondatoy come to mind, that's where I have seen some TLs. But parts localy will be expensive, you have to know that, one type s headlight and they wanted 475$ for it. You can also look in the Black market section on this forum for headlights, there are some for sale there sometimes, usually going for around 300-400$ for a pair, might be modified too.

I thought you didn't have insurance, well only one way? So your car won't be covered, only the car you hit.

ya i was running out of room in my old tool box but man these things are cheap at all!!!

And for lights i wonder if one of the prongs are loose for the lights or on the grid. they could also be wired in series, cause if the first one goes out they will all go out. I dont know much about cars so i am just throwing out ideas or possibilities of them going out. ya create a thread and see what you get!
