Yeah sure we'll see how much I get done this weekend. I might be dropping the car off on Saturday for tint so I'll have part of Sunday to see what I can turn out.

Hey Vince how is that detailing going? haha You done anything yet on your car? I wanna see that beautiful blue paint shine. I am also getting those side markers of Sanjay this weekend so DIY here we come haha. You make up your mind about the headlights, you wanna open them up, zkw-r lenses?

This is what the cut off is from like 5-10 feet away. It looks better from further away because I was adjusting them from further away but still not bad. This is the only pic I have of this haha

I realized why there is fogging in one of my headlights. It was my stupid mistake, and running on no sleep. Left signal bulb burned out so I took out the bulb and the plastic piece it plugs into, the piece that closes the headlight. So I went on like an hour drive looking for the replacement bulb leaving the headlight open like that and it started raining in the mean time so some moisture got in there.

@ ricky, no I have to take off the headlights and just put some more sealant there. I thought I put enough there but I guess not. It's just fogging and not condensation and it's in the corner so it doesn't bother me enough to do it right away.

@Darkness hahaha I saw the car but then i looked away and my GF was like, That guy was waving at you from that black car. And I thought it might have been you since on FB you posted pics of some black gtr

Oh and thanks.

@iChinese - I think I either got the 12sq/ft one or the 16 sq/ft one. The size is up to you depending on how much you want to wrap. I'll try to tackle the interior tommorow after work. Today I finally got my driver and passenger side windows tinted so now I have 20% all around. Dropped my car off at Garage Works for a few hours and voila. I didn't expect it to be so dark but hopefully I don't get hassled about it.

@Myron - Sadly I still haven't done anything. I was going to detail today but then it was either get tint today or next Saturday. I decided to tint since I'm still waiting on one order. I had a massive one arrive yesterday. I have way too many boxes of detailing stuff in my room lol.
Oh also the LEDs arrived from oznium yesterday. Let me know when you want to try out the DIY.

@Darkness - The DRL kit and switchbacks arrived too. It turns out vleds shipped it in two seperate boxes that arrived about 4 days apart. Let me know when you want to get those installed.

Oh nice that they are in. We can maybe do it as early as this weekend. I ordered my switchbacks too so I am hopping i see them this weekend and maybe we can do the resistor "mod" too since we'll be soldering and all. And I still have to get those side markers of Sanjay, I was gonna this weekend but I was lazy and wasn't southside.

I did get that timing belt done. Mechanic is an old school dude from my country and he had never done a timing belt on this car before and it took us 3.5 hours after getting that fucking bolt off, and had to figure stuff out as we went along. Bolt had to be heated up and then it came off no problem. But we broke 3 extensions before heating it up And he did the waterpump and tensioners and pulleys and he charged me NOTHING. He absolutely refused to take money. So all I had spent on this was parts. Saved me 600$ there. Everyone I called said it was a 4 hour job for the belt and 2 extra hours for water pump. Once you get the belt off, water pump is a 10 min job with 3 min waiting for the coolant to leak out haha And best part was that I was helping him out and I learned something in the process.

@iChinese - I didn't do a lot of wrapping on Sunday. I just did the 2 door sills and have yet to decide what else I want to do. Here is a link that has many pictures as a reference. Happy wrapping!
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/f-170-diy-3m-di-noc-carbon-fiber-grille-interior-diy-page-4-a-765483/

@Myron - Yeah if you want to do the sidemarkers this weekend let me know so I can go to Canadian Tire to pick up the supplies. Anyone on this forum have a solder we can borrow? I rather not buy one if I don't have to haha.
Wow free timing belt job? Now that's what I call a hook up.

@Sanjay - LOL nice I never knew you snapped a pic of me. What % tint do you have on your windows? I recently got 20% and really like it but I'm a bit worried when I go into Sherwood Park. I have to go there three times a week for work and heard they are very strict on enforcing tint laws. I would hate to roll my windows down everytime I enter Sherwood Park but it would be even worse to get a ticket or have the cop run a razor across it.
Do you know if a new rear bumper costs as much as a new front bumper? I got a quote from Cougar and Doug's Place but I have a feeling it would be cheaper to just buy the bumper from the dealership and DIY install. There would of course still be a small knick on my quarter panel and some scratches but I can probably buff it out.

yea lets do it this weekend. I don't know if double sided tape would be enough to hold that LED in place tho. It's very cold here in the winter and double sided tape just sucks in cold. Maybe we should use the glue gun to attach the LED to the plastic instead of double sided tape. Cuz I would hate to have that LED fall off and just flap around inside the side marker when it gets to -40 outside haha

20% all around, just dont drive like a dink and you will be fine, i goto sherwood park often and havent been bothered about my tint

Actually ill be peeling my tint off soon to get it tinted darker in the rear, and retint the front, bastards didnt put the fabric in the weather stripping so my tint is all scratched.

@Myron - Do you have a glue gun? I lack nearly all supplies when it comes to these kinds of projects lol.

@Darkness - Yeah I figured I'll drive casually and hope for the best. Garageworks did a good job on my tint and I confirmed with them to install the moleskin so the tint doesn't get scratched up in the future.
So since you do so much car related stuff, do you happen to have a solder me and Myron can borrow over the weekend to do our sidemarker mod?

Nah, soldering is not my favorite thing to do, I get buddies to do it for me. They are cheap! Like 25 bucks at princess auto! Welder brand too!

@iChinese - This is an alternative to the more intrusive method of attaching resistors to the frame of the car:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/g-109-diy-eliminate-led-bulb-induced-hyper-flashing-without-load-resistors-815219/

@Sanjay - Mmmmkay looks like I'll have to pick up a solder lol

I can just buy one at canadian tire, it's like 8$ or something. And soldering iron is less than 25$ I think. They have the ones for 15$. I can ask someone to borrow one too, I will ask today so maybe we don't even have to buy one.

It's okay Myron I'll grab a glue gun. I'll need it to glue my grit guards to my bucket. It likes to slide around a bit since it has like 2mm of free play so I'll glue it in place.

So I just finished washing my car and brought it into the garage to dry with the aid of the halogen lights since it's so cloudy outside. I discover on my driver rear door some douchebag(s) keyed the door twice. One isn't too long but one mark runs down half the door. Friggen people seriously wtf get a life. If I ever caught someone keying my car I would freak out to epic proportions. What would you guys do?

^Ouch that sounds bad. The smaller scratch catches the finger nail. The longer scratch isn't as bad, it doesn't catch the finger nail. I'm hoping I can buff the longer one out but the smaller one the catches my finger nail worries me. I had a closer inspection at my hood too and wowzers it has so many rock chips. I'm certain it will take me hours to touch-up every little knick.

Van is old and it's just a work van and he doesn't care about paint so he managed to scrub it off but damn, I was parking my car outside until last night and I am just thinking that if I was parked out there, that my car might have been spray painted. I don't know what the hell I would do.

Vincent, I'm pretty sure it can be buffed. And don't you have a 3M rock guard for your hood?

Myron, that sucks, and I thought your neighbourhood is very peaceful.

GldCrzy, those wheels look good! Rotas?

it is very peaceful, we have never had a problem before and I loved in that neighborhood for 8 years. I don't think it's gonna happen again though. It was just stupid kids passing by. They took a 30$ ipod FM transmitter from my dad's van haha

@Myron - Ouch wtf is wrong with people these days. Thankfullly they didn't get the TL. That would be an absolute nightmare.
When do you want to do the sidemarkers? I'll be doing a detail this Saturday until around 6 and working Sunday until 4ish but I'll be free on Monday.

@Arthur - Yeah I have clear bra on the hood but the previous owner only put the 12" one. All the chips are on the upper part of the hood. The clear bra on the front bumper and hood are yellowed so when I detail I'm stripping it all off. With the condition of my bumper and hood, I might just let it be and get it re-painted or get new clear bra put on.

@GldCrzy - Damn those wheels look good! I want to see those mounted on your car.
