If someone had a tool truck or van, we could have lots of fun trying out different combinations.

How's about the launch fellas? It's tuff practicing on concrete / asphalt cuz it's so much less sticky than the track surface, but at lunch when I was playing with braking to around 1500rpms and punching it, I absolutely roasted the Yoko's.

power braking _always_ produced bad results relative to non power brake launches for me. I don't know why that is... I always just punch it off the line.
#4091
kewl. i guess i'll give it a *mild* power brake -- like maybe 1k, and then no brake and see how i do with each.
now, i should turn ON VSA and have my parking break engaged a little bit, right? windows down and moon roof open, too? how about stickers? lots of stickers, right?
jeez, i really gotta get some work done this afternoon...

I am headed down at the same time RUF is--say a little after Five PM. I will be calling RUF on the cell to coordinate once I know my departure time. We may or may not meet up before the track. My goal is to be there about Six PM or a little after. I want to get some good runs in and the weather is so nice all kinds of folks are going to come out this week, I bet. I think everyone who came up to the ice box install has my cell number, so give a call.
Danny, we will call you and bug you at work so take your cell and stay away from the supervisor!!!
Cheers! Inferno

I'm gonna head out at 7pm with a couple friends, so hopefully i'll be able to get a few runs in before the strike of midnight.
Inferno, I'll call and see where you and Ruf are when I get there.

good luck guys, especially you RUF, hope you make that SC owner cry.
I hope it cools off tonight, it's pretty warm out right now. At least the humidity is low. It's only supposed to get down to 50 tonight, but the humidy is only 24%.

Mantis, you still have the record so no worries there. Times were pretty slow for some reason tonight.
My best was 14.683 at 93.48 mph. My previous best was 14.801, so I guess the Ice Box helped a little.
The two other Ice Boxes didn't seem to help tonight: DeezNutz ran the same time he did last time, as did Ruf, so mine was the only Ice Box that showed improvements in times. Different conditions = different times so it is hard to tell.
The run hooked up with no wheel spin on the launch, the shifts were timed just right, and it all fell into place. I was racing Casper who pulled off a fast 15.38. Good run, Casper!

At least you improved your time Inferno, that's funny that it's a slower mph though, even with a faster 60'. Weird . I'm sure everyone will do better when we get another cold Fri. night.

Excellent times guys!
Yeah, with different weather conditions, its pretty hard to gauge true gains. But John, it definetly looks like you shaved off a few ticks.

And the winner is . . . . RUF
I'll post the time slips as soon as I get someone to scan them in. And the video will be posted later by someone else.
We raced twice because he wanted a rematch, but well see for yourself.
1st Run:
SC430.................TLS
14.791................14.681
96.31MPH............93.65MPH
Straight Time Difference
.0952 , so less than 1-tenth of a second.
Finish line advantage - 3/4 car length.
2nd Run:
SC430..................TLS
14.988.................14.704
95.35...................93.60
Straight time difference
.7517 , 3/4s of a second
Finish line advantage - about 3 car lengths (just a little over 3)
Basically, on that last race he would have had to run a 14.075 to beat me.
With a little work, I could help Troy (SC430 guy) improve his launch and make it a really tight race. To where I would have to be at my very best to win.
The SC430 is a fast car

He even beat me on the R/T one race.

Ruf Rules!! That was fun. On my last run I did improve my time by .03 against Inferno from last time. Of course Inferno walked away from me but it was fun anyway. I gota get more power to the wheels.

that was a great track night.... my launches were next to perfect.
I must say, I probably hold the current record for R/T.
My third run where I destroyed a Camaro was a .039 R/T!
15.38 was my best time....
.5 secs to shave and i'm competin with you guys on slow days
I'll post my slips when I get back to work.
