Mark,
I have had the polys for a lot longer than the originals lasted, and have noticed no real difference in the idle. Just my experience.

car problems

So i found out today that i have to replace my rear main seal, my oil pan, my hot water valve, clutch, and flywheel. Super bummed out since this will cost an arm and a leg. It has to be done though, because i cant drive the car right now. Its leaking oil and tranny fluid all over the bottom of my car causing a hazard chance to catch fire. Gona have the guys at north dallas imports do the work since they are a reputable shop and cost half of what the dealership would cost. Does anyyyone know where i can get an aftermarket clutch and flywheel?

Clutchmasters is your only choice...UNless you want to run an Exedy OE or OEM. I would recommend buying a new flywheel also since you cannot machine a dual mass...The good part about the CM kit is that it comes with a flywheel...The only thing is make sure they give you the proper 123 tooth ring gear. but if you go the oem route the flywheel will run about 450 or so. Oil pan and hot water valve should be easy. Well oil pan a slightly more bitch but the hot water valve should be easy. But I would look into excelerate performance since they carry the CM kit and they can prob get back with you with the right part.

Have you picked out your tires yet? If not, PM me and I can give you all sorts of ins and outs so depending on what you want out of a tire you can get as close to it as possible. I've even done spreadsheets with all sorts of specs.

Dang, that really does suck big time. One thing to note on NAiL05's comments is that the stuff from XLR8 are lighter weight than OEM, so better performance. Check in to that and if that's a plus it'll be worth it.

Nope Clutchmasters is specific to Clutchmasters...AASCO makes one but I dunno how there quality is. There is also one from Comptech but I think those are discontinued.

IMO people say Clutchmasters has fixed it I would just buy that kit and see whats up. With what I plan to do sadly that seems to be my only option. I calculated my costs and with an OEM replacement along with a flywheel it will ccost me around 6-700 or so.

You also have to keep in mind you will be needing to run a Dual mass with a factory clutch if you go that route...This main reason is because our factory clutch is not a sprung hub so it will not absorb the abuse and eventually break down and make it wear faster...Its great for performance but not for longevity. The dual mass on our cars cushions the blows so it acts like a sprung hub on the clutch disk.

IMO the clutchmasters kit comes with a lightweight flywheel, a heavy duty pressure plate, and a sprung clutch disk so that would honestly be your best bet. I dont know if excelerate is doing any other deals but i think its 1200 something on the site.

Hopefully he can get it sorted out.

Just deciding on whether A-Spec springs, kit, or RP03s to get. Maybe a mixture of 2.

wellll it allll started when i bought the car. went to do an oil change and the previous owner tightened the drain bolt on the oil pan too tight and stripped out the threads. i have had to retap the oil pan twice since then and it still leaks. so thats where i need the new oil pan. also did not know that my transmission only had a quart and a half of fluid in it when i bought the car so i blew the rear main seal. also somehow my hot water valve is leaking(have no idea how that could happen). im not suprised that the clutch went out considering i have 100,000 miles on it.

Low fluid level will not cause a rear main seal leak. Prob just old age and the seal just dried up not enough fluid probably.

Now that I reread it I did lol. But let me rephrase myself since I was pretty tired. Low fluid level doesnt really cause a leak. You transmission has nothing to do with the rear main seal leak unless they somehow magically installed it wrong. Few reasons are either pressure in the crankcase forcing out the oil (PCV might not be working properly) or just old age or it couldnt take the abuse.

Unless its your input shaft seal thats leaking which can cause low trans fluid levels.

Looks like someone wanted my license plate...
So today I was at the Galleria mall and as I was walking towards my car...I realize someone really liked my license plate...so much they decided to RIP IT OFF.

The bad:
I need a new license plate, I need a new chrome license plate cover, and I need a new black plastic bracket, also somehow, there is a hole on my front bumper where nothing was screwed into.

The good: I can all these things for cheap, and the hole on my bumper will be covered by the new black plastic bracket.

What puzzles me the most...is that there is this hole, and nothing was screwed into it or anything. I am really pissed though.

Just buy 2 covers for the holes in the bumper & leave it as is. Once you get a new front plate, throw it in the trunk.

Ya but I have a separate hole above the driver's side plug. It is about 1-1 1/2 inches above the plug, so if I don'y get a front license plate...it is visible.

Whoever drilled a hole above the plug to hold your license plate on your car was a fucking moron. That's the whole point of the 2 plugs on the bumper.

??? That's just plain assinine . . all I can think of is someone needed a plate and plans on getting by with just one. The only thing I'd worry about is if they are using it for a rear plate on their car that they don't go running red lights, tolls or worse. You may want to report it stollen.

The first thing I did this morning was cancel the membership with tolltag people. While I was at school, my mom got me new plates (the new 7 letter ones) and a black bracket. You can see maybe half an inch of the whole, rip in the bumper with the bracket covering it, but it really doesn't bother me. The license plate it now void.

Ya, I guess the person before me decided to use the hole on top of the bracket. It really pisses me off. This whole past two weeks have been shit for me. Same for horsepower and his screwed up axle problem or w/e.

Why when Acura just gave me a free one?

BTW, do we have a vendor on here who can supply A-Spec suspension? Or better yet, a way to tell which is for a manual & which isn't? Thinking I'll just get the complete A-Spec option & call the car near-done.
