^^^ agreed! i have a 12" W6v2 powered by a JL 500x1 amp right now and boy that thing drums!! Incredible clean and the range is phenominal! I couldn't be happier. I looked at the W7 which is even better, but was just overkill for my taste!

Oh yea. A couple of my friends had the W7 it sounds crazy regardless of what car it was in haha. My friend had it in his TC, GS, S4, and Tundra all sounded really clear which was surprising. But exactly the range on the W7 is crazy. I would get one if I needed one but I am going to get my friends JL W1 as it has everything I need already.

if i remember correctly, i think you can do a direct replacement of the factory sub with a W1. The magnet on that thing is pretty tiny. Not sure how a free air sub will sound, but im guessing its still an improvement from factory.

For sure. But its already in a box so I am just going to remove the rear deck and dynamat it all. Just mount the box in the back and use it like that and it should hopefully sound better and get rid of the infamous TL rattle.

Ethan: Good to hear man.

i have one of those custom form fitting boxes. I actually got it for free because the shop used my car as a test car. Made a mold and now they mass produce them. Kinda pricey though..

Check it out: http://www.wickedcas.com/product.php...&cat=12&page=1

Scroll down for pics, thats actually my trunk that you see.

Anyways, If your looking to save trunk space, this is a no brainer! Has helped me numerous times, especially on airport runs!

Whatever car i get next, i plan on doing the same thing... Just need to find a local audio shop that will do the job.

Nice I have seen a few of those similar boxes but I think I am going to center mount it toward the back seat. I like that area because it allows the acoustics to travel a big but it already comes with a small box which is nice to have. Then I will lay the amp and so on to the side. I dont make many airport runs and if anything there are usually 1 or 2 big bags so its not too bad.

Yea I will see how this works out. I dont need major thump as long as it balances out the sound in the cabin I am good. Not looking so much for performance but just something that hits the lower notes a bit clearer and doesn't fade out as you turn up the volume.

Also contemplating the 2007-2008 climate control/audio swap. Looks tempting right now if I can find one for cheap and get those wiring diagrams so I can adapt it to the 2004 setup.

I like how the display looks. The audio also has an aux so I can plug in an Ipod and so on. From what I have seen the 2004 does not have an aux in but I could be wrong. A lot of people throw on an isimple and so on to make it work but I dunno. Thats just up in the air right now. The main thing is the display is nicer IMO, you get a compass, aux input for ipod, and mp3 compatibility so I need to look into that. It allows me to keep the center speaker and so on instead of buying some pioneer unit and trying to make it work. Its cheaper.

heres what it looks like posted by a member on here djflex.

Thats actually really nice, and i wasn't aware that they even changed the setup for the 07+. I have NAV on my 06, so im assuming the 07+ NAV TL's are the same, but an AUX input would sure be nice!!

Looks like a complicated job though!! Good luck!

I am getting a W3 only cuz it is the best I can really afford. It still sounds really good. The guys at Earmark Audio are really helping me. Anyways, I wanna see most of you Dallas guys at CC this weekend and also at meet after. Ethan, I am assuming you will be with the Lotus at the meet and CC? Let everyone know if you are coming. The TL's are underestimated at CC so I wanna have lots of us there to make a statement. So I'm in for both...anyone else? Both: CC and Bone Daddy's after

If you do want to attend the Bone Daddy's/Cruise/Photo deal, they are asking for RSVP so they know how many maps to print.
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?ei...1032051&ref=mf

Note that it is a Ricekiller deal, so I have no idea how many people will be turned off by that.

Me too I was impressed. IMO it looks better than the 04-06 units. Thats my main reason of wanting to go over. The MP3 function is also nice you dont have to keep on burning multiple 17-20 song cd's.

Well, looks like all my mods are now post-poned. My family ended up putting me in a position that will significantly lower my return so they can save money on the taxes they owe. And I wouldn't have a problem except they pulled the bitch card & said, I can have my full return but I could also go ahead & live somewhere else.

Sup guys. Let's planning going for the Big "Ass" Texas meet.

Spring break is 15-19 so we have 13/14 or 20/21 weekends to work with.

I'll start a new thread with a poll soon.

hahaha. Where do we feel like eating? I don't feel like going to RKC's thing because there will be a lot of people. Razzoos down the street maybe? Another thing on the photoshoot RKC is having there are going to be a shit ton of members going most likely so you might not even get a pic of your car.

As for the spring meet I will be in Houston for TX2k10 the week of March 18-21 so if its the week before depending where the statewide is (guessing austin) I can do the 13. I will be back from Germany then.

Same. FB shows around 30+ people "going", but even 20 would be a bit much. May just skip their lunch & meet up there at 1:30 or whenever.

Well, baby's got some new shoes . . . finally. They are Sumitomo HTR A/S P01Ultra High Performance All-Season radials. They just came out in December, so there wasn't a lot of data on them, so I'm taking a bit of a chance. The main points were that they were fairly cheap, light weight, on the higher end of the track width and AA A rated. They felt pretty good on the way home, but will provide an update after I get to play around some.

The new axles and exhaust flex pipe have shipped and should be here early next week. I'm also hoping to hear that the new motor mounts we'll be testing will be here next week as well. So new axles, exhaust fixed, O2 extender, tires, mounts and ramair fix will keep me busy for a couple of days. Then I'll be looking at new shocks and brakes . . maybe even springs.
That'll about do me in for the rest of the year.
