There's an empty icon spot on the iPod touch. A new application: iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store.

It's on the bottom of the screen, which he now calls the Dock. Featured, top ten, search, and downloads. You can pick top tens from all of iTunes, any genre you love, top songs/top albums. Tap it, free previews over wi-fi for every song in the store. Confirm with a buy now button, and it gets transferred to the iPod touch. Next time you dock, it syncs back up to iTunes. You can search for anything in the whole iTunes store. Same prices, same selection.

Wi-Fi store available in every one of the 22 countries iTunes is in, and it will also be added to the iPhone.
Later this month for software update.

A great partnership with Starbucks, announcing today. Starbucks is an incredible phenomenon in our culture. We want to combine great iPods, love of music, with their coffee and love of music. In the new iTunes Wi-Fi Store. When you're near a participating Starbucks a button appears with Starbucks logo, you can see Starbucks songs from the store. You can download with one tap the song you are hearing in the store. You can also hear the last 10 songs they've played so you don't "just miss" something.

Although, considering I've only got a 4GB Nano now, it would still be a significant upgrade in memory for someone like me. They'll probably still sell like mad. I was expecting a $500-600 price point. Naturally, that would have been with more memory. Boo!

Now what would be cool is if they opened this mechanism up so that radio stations could put out the same sort of info. Don't see it happening though.

Oh, I agree it would be ridiculous, but since when is their pricing not? Like I said though, I was expecting the options to me more along the lines of 40 & 60 or 80GB.

Not that it's a major deal to anyone but Apple, but it's sounding (literally) like the Beatles announcement is going to happen.

This will be transformational; it will be accessed (iTunes Wi-Fi music store) for free while at Starbucks. Also accessible on Mac, PC, and iPhone. Starbucks will become a place for people to discover music. No login required for Wi-Fi store at Starbucks. One of the most asked questions = "What song am I listening to?" Now this will be answered.
