then over the weekend my system wouldn’t post. So I swapped back in the “good” stick RAM. Booted up fine in both RAM slots.
just for testing I put back in the “bad” stick and the computer booted up fine.
so i think it’s either the mobo or the cpu.
I don’t think CPUs fail that often so I ordered the Asus ROG 550-i for testing.
im about ready to chuck this damn thing in to the trash.
I didnt take you for a coder, so the best dig i could come up with is spreadsheets. lol
I mean, I get the modability - the ability to mod the keyboards...almost like the AR15 platform....
but you really gotta love typing to go down that rabbit hole.
you got some badass keyboards, not gonna lie...love the aesthetics on all 4 or 5 of them you have.
I only use them to fight the reddit wars. I dont even use a keyboard for my job. Just decided to build one while waiting for the GPU craze to die down and found myself in a rabbit hole. Couple grand later I have 4 boards, 3 of which are fully custom, 2 more group buy boards on the way, and like 4 keycap sets all a month to 6 months out still. Just been a fun hobby to take my mind off 2020 and 2021.
Speaking of mechanical keebs. A month ago I picked up a Keychron C2 full sized keyboard for my Mac.
While I really like it. I’m not that fond of the brown switches. Don’t really like that extra tactile bump. They also feel kind of scratchy?
So I’m considering getting another one.
I do see that Keychron has the K10 now. Full size, wireless and regular profile switches.
I’m going to go with red switches whenever it’s back in stock.

Just picked up a Keychron C2. Full sized keyboard with numpad. Picked brown gateron switches since it was the only one in stock and wanted to give browns a try.
So far. it seems nice. I can ever so slightly feel the tactile bump compared to the reds on my Ducky Mecha Mini v2.
Sucks that its wired, but it is what it is and at least it uses USB-C. Didnt want the K1 since that is low profile.
Also i just noticed that next to F12 it has a keyboard short cut for the snipping tool. OMG that is so useful. No more remembering the cheat code to activate it (cmd+shift+4)
My god you dont even know. And its all group buys so its all waiting months for product. But now Im getting stuff I paid for a while back so it's like Christmas.
Shit adds up but sinking money into a hobby has always brought me joy so it's hard to say it's worthless. And not to say it can't be done on the cheap. My budget build, the 3rd from the left in the pic with 4 keyboards was in total a $120 build. Then in contrast when my LW-67 comes in it will be a $400 case/pcb with $50 switches and $250 in keycaps making it a $700 keyboard. Judging by how well the GB went... and if they do a round 2 or not, I could try and sell it at r/mechmarket for $1k... probably easier to do if I parted it like a car.
The brown switches are considered pretty scratchy by most people. I have them in my bluetooth and they kind of make me cringe when I use them. I plan to desolder them in the future but its a long process I dont enjoy.
Keychron is a great prebuild company. I often see people buying them to use as is or mod. You could also consider the GMMK full size. I believe you mentioned the Pro before. They have this guy for $109 with a hotswap board. https://www.pcgamingrace.com/product...l-brown-switch
When you first view the board it comes with brown switches. But next to "add to cart" there is a customize option. Scroll down and click "grab your switches" to choose the switches you want. The Gateron red and black I know are both linear. Red being lighter springs. They also have Kailh options which are a different company. They offer box kailhs which has less wobble on the caps. You can even choose from some cap colors if you want to change it up a bit.

Seriously about ready to chuck this damn build in the trash.
New ASUS B550-I motherboard didnt help.
So... that leaves me with the CPU (5600X) going bad?

No way it wasn't someone who knew exactly what was in those creates or that crate.
I feel bad for anyone waiting for a GPU... probably smarter to just buy a prebuild with a 30 series then put your old GPU in the prebuild and sell it for the cost of the prebuild minus the MSRP of the 30 series you take from it.
In other news, I got some new caps that aren't as flashy and trying out a new profile. These are DSA... which is similar to XDA but lower profile. I think they look really clean. Only thing I dont like is the bottom row feels like I have to reach.
This is the Tofu65 with Azure Dragon switches and Simple Grey DSA caps from KBDfans.
No way it wasn't someone who knew exactly what was in those creates or that crate.
Crate?
The GPUs are shipped in corrugated boxes with each corrugated box holding several GPUs. The corrugated boxes are stacked on a pallet and then the pallet is wrapped before they're loaded onto the truck. No need to guess what's being shipped because everything is clearly labeled and visible.
The article said shipment so I assume the entire thing was taken... which would need a forklift to do anywhere quickly. I still assume someone involved knew what was there.
But imagine if some people broke open and truck and luckily there was a pallet of expensive GPUs and not a shipment of baby powder.
Finally got my ultra-wide back after a 10 month wait.
While I waited I got a new desk... then a new smaller monitor... then a monitor stand which I ended up loving. Once I finally got my ultra-wide back it didn't fit under the shelf while on the monitor stand. Lucky someone on the local reddit had a table saw and I had the legs on the stand cut. It's only a 30in ultra-wide but it fills up so much space!
I plan to build a small form factor PC I can just put under the desk next to the subwoofer on the lower shelf so I have more desk space. Might even consider an open chassis and wall mount it but we'll see.
Right now I have it set to media controls like forward, back, play/pause and volume/mute on the knob. The other two buttons I set to F5 for refresh/quicksave and screen capture.
Made by a small studio. I think it's one dude and he has some help with software, I'm unsure. https://www.pikatea.com/
part of me wants one and part of me knows I wouldn’t use it over the keyboard shortcuts on the keyboard
I’m torn
I got it when I was using a 60% keyboard so I have no arrows or F row without using layers. Now though I find some media players dont response to my arrow keys or space bar but will respond to "skip" buttons and a "play/pause" button. I still mostly use my keyboard now that I have arrow keys again. But when my keyboard wont work... like with Disney+, I use the macropad.
And when I'm using my desk and have my keyboard slide under the monitor stand I can then use the macropad to still control the media player.
The creator also sells a 3 button +knob version and a 7 button +knob version. As well he sells it as a kit you can build for cheaper or a finished version.
I'm looking to replace my PC case, currently it's a big BeQuiet case that sits on top of my desk, I'd like to get a smaller one and mount it underneath. My mobo is ATX, I plan to use the Uplift desk CPU mount and the max size case it can handle is 8.25in wide and like 20in tall.
I was liking the Corsair 4000d but it's too wide, the NZXT 510 looks nice but I hear the airflow sucks, the NZXT 510 Flow just came out and is much better but it's 8.26in wide The Flow is my best candidate so far since I figured I could get it to fit but I thought I'd check with y'all.

Have you considered the CoolMaster NR200P Max? It's the small form factor case Ive been eye balling ever since it popped up on a youtube reviewer channel. If I remember correectly it comes with both a glass side panel or metal perforated side panel.
Currently I have a regular ATX mobo, I'll rebuild my PC eventually and might go m-atx or ITX. I was kinda hoping that I could find something smaller that fits my current system, and I could do I'd continue to use the case when I upgrade the components. That case looks cool but would be too small for my ATX mobo and standard PSU
great case easy to work on. Only issue I had were the top exhaust fans had some weird vibration around 1000rpm I think. A custom fan profile can fix that. Or replace them with different fans.
If you want it, I could sell it. It’s boxed up right now and sitting in my garage since I moved my build to a FormD T1.
I have this case and while I agree it doesn't move a lot of air, it's pretty quiet and I've never had an issue with over heating. I think it would be too big to mount under a desk, plus one of its ventilation fans is on the top of the case.
Direct Storage is supposed to help with that. SSDs have gotten so fast now that they're hitting bottlenecks within Windows itself so they're redesigning it to remove some of the overhead that was never an issue with regular hard drives.
ASUS Gundam RTX 3080, case, Z590 mobo, 360mm AIO, 850w PSU, headset and mouse pad. $3,049. 3 in stock....
Bet the 3080 itself would fetch close to 3k if resold via ebay/etc...but can't believe its in stock. Too bad the gundam keyboard is not included...that would be even more bonus....already have my system built but this is mighty tempting....too bad its Z590 mobo...wish they made a ryzen gundam/white mobo.....basically just need CPU and RAM and SSD/HDD and its good to go
