That is part of what I love about these monitors. No branding on the back except the Z on all 3 of them. They are very understaded. Although maybe I shouldn't love that they have the Z on them. Wonder if there have been discussions in HP to discountinue their Z series.
This build had a couple first for me.
First tenkeyless build. I normally stick to 60-65% since I dont need an F row or the cluster above the arrows.
First ISO (mostly) build. ISO should have a split left shift but I chose to split the right shift for aesthetic reasons.
First stepped capslock and first 7u chungus spacebar. Normal spacebars are 6u so this one is 1 full key longer.
First OLED screen on a board means I can finally bongocat!
This was a really cool board to build in with one major flaw I can't get over.
First the good. The PCB is hotswap and the amount of options they decided to give the builder is just insane. Most hotswap PCBs wont give options because every option requires a new hotswap socket and a new trace per socket. It is a gasket/sandwich mount. There is a silicone plate divider that acts as a gasket mount. Then the entire pcb and plate is sandwiched between a silicone pad in the lower case and the top case. OLED can be set to show PC temps... or you can custom flash it like mine to have a bongocat that types on a keyboard while you type and counts your WPM.
As for the bad... the plastic screwless design feels cheap and I can't get over it. It is super light and the lack of hardware holding it together securely makes it feel flimsy. If you pick it up with two hands you can kind of torque it out of square with little force. Had they made it aluminum and used 4 screws to hold it all together mounted from the bottom it would be a truly awesome board... but for $130 it's hard to complain that it feels cheap. Also I'm used to fully cnc cases so plastic with no added weight just feels light to me.
Oh and I forgot to share my endgame board. It was in the group shot I shared before but I wasn't happy with the caps so I held off sharing.
And while these aren't the caps I have planned for my endgame... these will do while I wait.

I absolutely love this board. The case feels super premium. It's 2 pieces and all aluminum. It's gasket mount with a custom POM plate for more bounce while typing. And I added some PE foam from GreenDoorGeeks to give it a more muted sound. I tried my first "force break mod" which is done to multipiece aluminum cases. You put tape down where the two aluminum halves meet to reduce ping. That with the foam there is legit no ping at all. In a GMK set the only cap not doubleshot with plastic is the spacebar... which sounds like a hollow bitch once you have the rest of the keys sounding good. So I took some car insulation and lined the inside of the spacebar so now it give a nice deep thud verse a higher clack found.
I have more plans for the board. The stabilizers are nice but Ive used better so I place to replace them with Durock V2 stabs. But I'll wait. My endgame caps wont show up until the end of 2022 if I'm lucky. And I plan to get the case repowdercoated in a teal that matched one of the colors in the cap set. That's when I'll make changes.

my favorite size... exploded 65%
and only $230 before shipping/taxes
I went with the grey one. I was worried how the ivory would match the cap set I wanted to put on it so I went grey since everything looks good on grey.
Yeah I'm waiting for 4000 series. It's supposed to require a lot more power too, so we'll see. I might just pick up a cheap 3070 or 3080 if the 4000 series isn't worth it

knock $800 off the machine,
I am just going to get a cheap video card and use my current one which isn't that old in this machine until the 4000 series comes out then I can get a 3080 for a much cheaper price.
New build done. Not one I think yall will particularly like but it was my first stacked acrylic build designed by someone in the hobby not associated with any studios.
Stacked acrylic cases can be used to really create anything you want but they often look very cheap to me which is why I hadn't built one until now.

It's kinda cool how you can see the PCB through the bite holes and see the switches and how they sit in the board and the plate.
I have another one of the same board but in a deep blue color on the way. Someone else in the group buy didn't get the color they wanted so I'll be trading them for an all black version. If I can sell it I may try but I would likely have to sell it for around $275 to make a little profit off it. I dont think that would be too hard so we'll see if I can make that my first build I sell.
Looking good, we'll see how Intel responds. Either way, AMD will respond back with their 3D V-cache models, rumors are that the 3D V-cache models are quite a bit better than the base 7000 series.
Wait Miz, don't you have a SFF PC that's crashing randomly and you've tried everything but haven't fixed it? I was watching some GN video about power supplies and they were saying that the SFF PSUs can have difficulty handling the transient spikes from the GPU since they're more limited in the amount of capacitance they can have due to it's smaller size.
I'm thinking about getting the 7700x and the Asus ProArt AM5 mobo. I'll probably skip the 3d V cache this gen time around, maybe next gen it will be on all models or be standard.
I've always liked AMD for CPUs and Nvidia for GPUs but isn't AMD working to bring their chiplet design and 3d V Cache to the GPU as well?
Meh they need to start competing with Nvidia outside of games, I need an answer to NVENC or Nvidia Broadcast...
I guess it's hard for AMD to compete well in two very competitive markets at the same time
I'm hoping for some deals on Ryzen 5000 this Black Friday to upgrade my two AM4 boxes. I'll let the Stunnas of the world beta test AM5 for a couple of years.
Yeah that's the only thing I've wanted that they sell. I was waiting for Project Farm to get his hands on one, and he came through real quick, love his videos.
I want an LTT screwdriver but I don't really need one, my iFixit Manta still gets the job done. The strong magnet and minimal backdrag are my fav parts about it.
Damn now that I think about it I may just buy it for the magnet, I need that shit, but I won't get it for months now. Maybe someone is scalping them on eBay....
Damn the disrespect the other board partners are going to feel when they see this video. Nvidia wants them gone and is going to make it so unprofitable for them that they follow EVGA
Nvidia is like the boss who cuts your hours in order to encourage you to quit.
Maybe they listened to their partners and raised prices, didn't they all say the MSRP was too low to stay in business? Blame evga for the price increase
