I need to stop reading all the comments about this.

The amount of misinformation and general stupidity out there is quite shocking.

It's like real life Idiocracy

LOL.... Don't even act like people read that stuff. :-)

They're saying now that a future version of iOS will make it clear what a battery's status is.

Most people probably don't even read what they're installing. They just click Next, Next, Next, Next, until they get to the Finished/Done button. Then they wonder where all the crapware came from.

Every once in a while I have to download an app on my office machine (win 10) and I accidentally set Yahoo as my damn default browser. It's easy to switch back, but I feel like an idiot for a minute.

You're exactly right.

It's 2018 and Flash is on the way out.

I think that we all know that Flash is evil. But the Flash installer is also evil.

:-)

Don't be in a hurry. If you must be in a hurry, wait to do the update.

I keep getting this damn Amazon winner crap pop up on my phone when in safari. Happens a lot but randomly. Tried clearing history and cache and enabling the iPhone pop up blocker in safari but that didn't work.

Me, too. Especially here and on any Fandom property. It's basically rendering this site unusable on mobile.

A Message to Our Customers about iPhone Amazon Winner Pop-Ups

We’ve been hearing feedback from our customers about the way we handle pop-ups on iPhones with iOS 11 and how we have communicated that process. We know that some of you feel Apple has let you down. We apologize. There’s been a lot of misunderstanding about this issue, so we would like to clarify and let you know about some changes we’re making.

First and foremost, we have never — and would never — do anything to intentionally degrade the user experience on any Apple product. Our goal has always been to create products that our customers love, and providing the best user experience on iPhones is an important part of that.

. . . .

Maybe you should just accept your good fortune that you are a winner?

At another site, an Internet Brands employee says that they lost control of how an advertising routine was working, and that it had been loosened up too much because of a seasonal dearth of advertising.

They're trying to block the individual URLs that cause the problems.

So I bought the AirPods. I don't know how to feel about them yet. I kind of like them, but the sound isn't great and the one-size-fits-all nature of their design is a turnoff. I worry they're going to fall out of my ears when I walk the dog.

I have a two year old iPhone 6s+, battery screwing up like crazy. I bought charging cable that shuts off when phone is charged. My battery issue seem to be gone.

I got it too while browsing here just now. Haven't checked if I get it on other car forums and I've never gotten it while visiting non-car and non-forum sites, so what George says may be the reason, that it's an Internet Brands issue.

Mine is a different URL, but it has to be whomever AZine is using for serving ads on here.

We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.
They said they were trying to block the URL causing the problem, but based on this I would not hold your breath.

Airpods sound mediocre for their price. But the pairing, connection reliability, and overall usability seems better than anything in the same price range. Never had an issue with them not connecting or falling out while running.

I saw some nice looking Bose true wireless earbuds and got excited until I looked at reviews of them.

I snagged some Beats X when Apple had them for 99.00, and at that price I think they do very nicely.

They have some depth when compared to AirPods.

Unfortunately, now they're back up to 149.99.

The stupid pop ups are happening across all of IB's sites, it's a nefarious advertiser who has taken advantage of a code freeze between Christmas and New Years at all the m major ad networks. It should hopefully be resolved tomorrow, if not I'd say Weds.

We have our own app, Tapatalk is not an option. You can use GarageTalk to avoid the pop ups for the time being.

It was 11 years ago today
Steve Jobs showed the world a better communications way
It's never gone out of style
It's guaranteed to raise a smile
So may I introduce to you
The device you've known for all these years
The iPhone

I love going back and watching these old videos where he publicly demos new technology and UI like multitouch, slide to unlock, or accelerometer screen rotation for the first time.

Read "Becoming Steve Jobs". It really depicts how crazy that whole thing was. iPhone was announced 6 months in advance and engineers were desperately searching for a happy path so Steve could demo it. For example, Steve Jobs could go to the iPod app and then switch to the home screen and then go to the notes app, but if he opened mail between iPod and notes, the device would springboard crash or worse.

Of the Steve Jobs books, by the way, Becoming Steve Jobs is superior to the Isaacson sanctioned biography.

It was crazy, he had about 4 phones under the podium that he kept switching out and the demo had to be in a perfect sequence.

Beta 4 of 11.2.5 is also out.

Nobody sees much in the way of changes, so we believe it probably was released solely to incorporate the Safari changes that mitigate Spectre.
