There was a promotion at one point, don't know if it is still there, that if you switched over to a share plan you'd get a $25 discount per line. Meaning, $130+ $15 per line.

I pay $100 + $45 (three lines) and get a discount off the top, to the tune of about $133 with taxes for 10GB. For 30GB I'd be paying about $158 or so. BYOD gets the $25 discount as well.

Yeah the thing is next year I'm upgrading. It makes no sense to pay $40 a month on a device I bought through them. I get it it's part of the plan but fuck that. I pay $215 now after $14.99 Beats Music for both lines and taxes.

Some constantly lose network. Sometimes they have to restart their phones to get it back. Some can't even connect at all. Some say they are connected with full strength but don't actually have wifi working.

Im currently still running iOS8 OG release on my 5s and iPad 3 with no issues. Couple minor glitches, nothing worthing getting annoyed over.

I am going to wait to update iOS8 til its all worked out.

Also, almost got a 128gb gold plus tonight...but it was gold and I don't love that color.

So at the gym yesterday someone asked if my Note 2 was an iPhone 6 Plus. I did see that my friend's 6+ is a little taller than mine and def thinner but about the same width. Very good looking phone

for At&t customers it makes more sense to buy the phone without contract and in the end you will make out better than if you had a contact. Read this:

I don't understand sounds like At&t is trying to make people not want to use the 2 year contract.

makes me wonder how many people upgraded to a 2 year contract without knowing that they will lose their family share discount.

It's something that they are told during upgrade. Whether they listen or not is a different story. AT&T's goal is to push those Next lease plans.

I am pretty sure Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint are doing the same thing and it really stinks. Why would you want to lease a phone?

You don't want to pay for it up front, or you want to upgrade every year without having to try and sell. My BIL does that. He travels too much to have to worry about Swappa or CL.

Yeah we discussed this as the $40 per month is the deal killer which they barely disclose if you don't stick with Next. The main factor is will the Next subsidy cover the Next price and is Unlimited vs 30GB data worth it. The X factor is the data speed. Apparently the 30GB is unthrottled and the "True LTE" while the Unlimited has 5GB that is supposedly a little slower in LTE and totally throttled after 5GB. I'm going to have a real hard breakdown. The unknown variable for me is cost of the phone upfront since I got my Note 2 for a $1 as it was already old. I need a Stunna graph

If you keep one variable intact (buy from AT&T) the total cost of Next versus buying up front should be the same. Of course, the real savings are apparent when you buy from a third party. For example, AT&T wanted more money for a 16GB Moto X than I paid for a 32GB version.

If you knew you wanted a new device every year, then it might make more sense to go next if you don't want to deal with reselling.

Cost may be the exact same after two years but...one you own the phone and one you turn it back in...

Not true. If you pay off the whole thing it's yours. If you decide to upgrade before it's paid off, that's when you turn it in. You can also pay it off early.

So if I'm still under contract with my 5S, what's the best way to get into a 6?
