Exactly. Shit gets old real quick.

Guess that's what you get when you're on top.

To answer your question, yes iPhone users do come by to post random shit, but certainly not as much as is happening in this thread lately from Android users. For that, we certainly apologize.

I can tell you why I come to this thread, despite me having an LG G2. I am a former iPhone user, but found the light long ago. I like to stop by every once in a while to see the good and the bad of what's happening on this end. The smart ass comments from Android users are usually deserved based upon the attitude of some (maybe most?) Apple users. Your superiority complex gets old, real quick.

But, I love tech, and am agnostic. If Apple starts making the "best" (subjective, I know) smart phone available when my upgrade comes along, then I'll considering switching. From what I'm seeing, they still have some work to do.

Apple users have a "superiority complex" yet it's the android users who always find the need to jump in and bash every little thing apple does. I guess that means they have "inferiority complexes"

Man I don't get how leading, sometimes by far, in almost all benchmarks puts Apple in the "still has some work" category. But your choice matters not to me I guess.

Also...

Apple responds to bent iPhone 6 complaints, all nine of them

Nine complaints for bent phones. Lol.

The Internet. Making mountains out of molehills and leading the blind sheeple around since the 1990's.

I'm not sure anyone really thought it was a worldwide phenomenon. It is concerning, however. For any phone.

+1. And I bet the Plus is a bit more susceptible to it than Apple would want.

It has been worse than ever this time around. I mean, far worse than I ever remember it during the last few launches. I almost feel like it's a function of the maturing and annoyances of social media, in general, that is causing it. Like for the bending issue, think about it, there was ONE instance, and then someone made the snarky video on youtube, successfully documenting it. And it snowballed from there, QUICK. Because that is the nature of social media right now - I mean I remember seeing that video when it was at 200 some views. The NEXT DAY, it's sitting at over 15 MILLION.

I really do think this is a function of the explosive nature of social media. And, I also do agree this is a particular thing with Android users - I never feel the need to go, on my own, into Android forums, pages or whatever looking to stir up trouble. And, that is because I'm never trying to show anyone how my phone is better than theirs. I don't really give a shit what someone else chooses to use as their personal phone. Why would I? It's a personal decision lol.

I also think it's part of the increasing scrutiny that Apple has come under after Jobs. Be it revisionist history or not, more and more you see things that you would claim wouldn't have happened before. Some of it is for the better, some for the worse.

I will say that Apple is going to have to completely rethink their home button and Touch ID going forward. The bezels, especially on the 6+, are borderline awful. At some point Apple is going to have to not simply let the design evolve, but rethink it completely.

oh yeah, def wanted to mention that too - Apple set themselves up for this, over the past decades. They do have a big ass magnifying glass on them now, just because of the way they conducted themselves, their ads, their users, all of those things piled up over the years so now it's like, one fuckup and EVERYONE piles on.

They need to move Touch ID to the Apple logo on the back.

I don't think the Android users that switched from Apple care about benchmarks. The Android trolls use it as ammo when an Android has an advantage which is obviously immature and pointless. Most people I know including myself that switched got their Android for what The Stig says "still has some work" such as an SD card slot, removable battery, no iTunes, etc. Size was another hugely popular difference which is now not a deficiency on Apple's part.

Yup, hence why I am REALLY disappointed this thing only has 1GB of RAM.

Dealt with it on my 5, thought it would be remedied by now.

I don't know...all I see from android users are "specs" this and "specs" that....yet with all the "specs" they are still getting beat (benchmarks).

I replaced my battery in no time whatsoever. I wouldn't have any cause to do that more than once every two years. Which, coincidentally, is about the average cycle power users upgrade anyway.

Removable storage, bah, what's the write times on SD cards anyway? Ain't nobody got time for that!

For MY use:

micro SD slot, don't think I'd actually use it. Maybe if it was full size because DSLR.

Removable battery? Rather not carry one but if i did, I'd rather get one of those battery packs so I can charge different devices than just my phone.

iTunes isnt a big deal to me, just set up manualy manage music and you just drag and drop your music into your device. This way you don't even need to copy first to your iTunes library'. Just drag and drop into your phone.

What do android users use to manage music? I got rid of my Nexus so fast I didn't even have time to find out. Lol

Just straight up file system?

I think that cohesion is done better on Apple, but you also have to remember how much of their business revolves around music/video.

When I cared about local music storage, I used WinAmp. However Google Music for local or streaming has gotten a lot better.

re: Android users in this thread, I've owned multiple Androids and have owned multiple iPhones.

I come to this thread and the Android thread to try and catch up on news about the devices. I actually shop the devices instead of just buying the latest and greatest.

A agree with most of this. The SD card slot is fine, but 64 GB on my iPhone is fine for me. The removable battery causes more problems to me then it is worth. I don't use iTunes ever as a desktop application, but the role of a phone as an iPhone is shrinking IMHO with the increasing popularity of apps like Spotify.

Gawd this whole #bendgate thing is so dumb. I'm getting coworkers and random ass people asking me if my 6 Plus bent itself yet.

So now people think this thing bends by itself

If I had an ounce of photo/video editing skills, I'd change the spoons to iPhones

Kid: Do not try and bend the iPhone. It's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Kid: There is no #bendgate.
Neo: There is no #bendgate?
Kid: Then you'll see that it's not the iPhone that bends, it is only yourself.

I got a Samsung SD card that loads very quickly and was cheap via slickdeals. I figure 16GB for $100 vs 32GB for $20 or 64GB for $25 (on sale). The card speed is fine sure it won't touch the .1243 seconds difference of in-phone storage.

Most of my music is streaming through Beats (Spotify competitor) but I love the offline feature where I put my favorite albums on the SD card. Sure I could stream but I prefer high quality. Let's put it this way, I downloaded like 6 albums yesterday to my SD card. That was like 650MB. I was destroying my 5GB before getting throttled. So I stream at low quality and d/l my faves via Wifi to my SD card at HQ. As for my non-streaming artists (Led Zep, Beatles, Metallica) most Torrents and mp3 stores will title them format friendly. When you use the Google Music app they are all there with the artwork in perfect order. Drag and Drop.

If you think this Bendgate is just for fun, it isn’t. People will start to have the perception has Apple products as being weak.

Many parents now let their kids play with their smartphones. If parents start finding their smart phones smashed or bent. They usually find a tougher product.

My friend’s kids use their parents smartphone for play. The kids abuse these phones/tablets like no one else.
They used to have iPads/iPhones untill they were broken because of the kids. They all use non-APPLE devices because they have no fear of breakage.

Lol. Shits going to break whether it's an Apple product or not...

Finally jumped on the iOS 8 bandwagon. I can't even tell a difference.

So everyone upgrading, where are you selling your old phones? I've heard the 5 in good condition (which mine is) can get anywhere close to $250-$300.

This is assuming AT&T will let me upgrade early.

Finally had time to go to an apple store today to check out the plus.

1) I can't believe there are still fools standing in huge lines outside the store to get a phone...When you can simply order and reserve online.

2) the plus is HUUUUUGE. I was able to use it fine in one hand, but pocket space and lack of being able to be discreet with it has me conflicted.

I'll probably still end up with the plus...but fuck its big.
