yea i know, alot of people dont know how to fully use their iOS devices.

ive had people bitch about something it supposedly didnt do, so then when i show them it does, they're like

one of the big ones i remember was someone was scrolling up, and they're like "why the f*ck cant this stupid crapple phone scroll up to the top any faster" so i showed them they just had to tap on the status bar to scroll to the top.

I'm using it as my primary phone.

Its a lil buggy but overall it works great, the only things I haven't seen work is the eBay app and some games, other than that so far so good. I think it will be vastly improved on the next iteration. When I get a new phone this fall this OS will be great on it.

Those who'd like similar functionality without upgrading to iOS7, read this article, it is safe.

^ my iPhone 5 runs great. The point is Apple is being Apple - borrowing other people's ideas and embellishing on them.

Everyone borrows from Apple, and apple borrows from everyone.

Its a typical cycle in ALL that is tech from EVERYONE involved.

Honestly, who the fuck cares. The arguments are just getting as stale as they are stupid.

Sidenote...does everyone know WHY these other companies are jam packing their phones with these "features"...answer...to try and acquire the patent rights on them...doesnt matter if the actual implementation is worth anything or not (usually not)

So, with my preferences...I happily let Apple "copy" them...refine them, and make them more functional for my personal use. I can wait, I don't need every feature right away.

If it wasn't for Apple many of these ideas probably would have never made it to the mainstream, which is very very true, but I want them to innovate I own plenty of Apple products, but haven't bought anything since iPhone5 because I don't see them exploring outside of the box. (the new iMacPro for example, outside of the box, literally)

^^^ totally agree !!!

they come out with something soooo innovative and sooo awesome and then, they stop....other manufacturers, catch up and steal the market share and apple looses that "motivation", if you will, for innovation....

And there in lies the problem. Apple created, refined, or took a lot of these products to the next level. So now people expect EVERY announcement to be something "innovative"
Which isn't how it works. It's just impossible. Give them a chance to refine and improve and build upon. Innovation comes with time and no other company has done it as much as this company.

^^^ Sarlacc....but they are concentrating more on redefining user experience as compared to innovative something new....

and I was shocked when all Apple fans were like "ohh we have Panorama mode...now thats innovation"....ummm no !!! Panorama mode on the original iphone with video recording would have been "innovation"....

dont redesign how you gonna put folders on the screen but something like google did with photosphere....or something which Apple did with Siri...now Siri was innovation...

The only thing which I detest about the Android is SYNCing...I am being honest....the only time i wish i had my iphone was because how Samsung syncs to the laptop....SUCKS ASS !!!

I think you're putting words in apples mouths. I don't think anyone ever called getting newer features such as panorama "innovating"

Just because fan sod the iPhone get excited about new features doesn't mean we think something has been "innovated"

It's a word being thrown around WAY too much by people who dislike or have some of beef with apple.

^ I know what I'd want I don't want to ever look for damn cable to charge my iPhone. Even the obsolete Touchpad has wireless charging.

PS if your significant other is sleeping, and it's late, and you can't tun on the lights, have fun finding that retarded wire when you have a zillion devices by your bedside.

Siri wasn't innovation. The attempt of voice control existed way before, Apple just is trying to make it actually work.

Why are Apple fan boys so hypersensitive? How is that a personal problem? Charging your phone by dropping it on a pad or near an induction device is genius. They exist now, but I don't want a thick ass ugly case on my iPhone. Ooops, I know it makes more $$$ sense for Apple to sell you a $20 cable?

It's good to be loyal to your favorite brand, but have an open mind and realize that you dictate the corporation's future (and you do with your purchases) and not vice-versa. Free thinking is allowed.

When any phone (hardware/UI) becomes truly active, then we'll be cooking. I want my phone to actively scan for the temperature (no go to a server to get what's on it); I want my phone to accurately read my blood pressure; I want my phone to serve as my fob; I want my phone to transmit in all frequencies and modulations; I want my phone detect the speed of my golf swing or scan for fish. ETC.

Servers can be referenced (SECOND) for historical/contextual information, but I want the phone to do most of the work... not phony apps directing to a server or running a file.

The flat design aesthetic reminds me of both metro and android's design direction as of last year.

Convergent evolution I guess?

Inductive charging is not ready yet. I had one with the case and it drove us all nuts. I rather be able to find a cable then an induction pad any day. True innovation would be to develop devices that can go more then a day without needing to be charged. Im not talking about bigger batteries and less power hungry processors, like some Androids and the new MB Airs, Im talking about a redesign from the ground up of how devices use power. Apple knows that inductive charging isnt staying, its not the answer, so they aren't doing it.

Um, the Nokia 920 is pretty cool with the pad. Of course you have a wire to the outlet, but to just flop it down to charge is acceptable.

Unless there is a pad every time I need to charge it, then I dont see a point.

That gives me my third grand delusion of today. If wireless routing is sending frequencies through the air, why can't they be piggybacked to modulate a charge for devices?

Just what exactly do you have on your nightstand?

me: alarm clock, lamp, phone, glass of water.....don't really get what the hell else you'd have charging beside your bed.

Note 10.1, Note 2, Blackberry Bold, and iPhone. I use them all. Busy life. And forget the fucking bed notion, why are you people so dense, the phone can be dropped anywhere or via simply bluetooth

Whiskers answered my question, thank you. Yes it is a glorified magnet, but the idea of simplification since this is what Apple is known for - they can truly get away with this magnificent addition. I think the battery on the iPhone5 is excellent. I abuse it all day long and still come home with 60% battery.

PS Great little organizer

Thats what I thought. Personal problem.
