I figured after all these years of stupid Apple rumors that people would be able to catch on to which ones are ridiculous or not, guess I was wrong.

 

It is ridiculous... But who knows. They are coming from numerous sources.

Its like how people said the iPhone would get updated in June and any rumors saying otherwise were wrong. Well look what happened.

 

Not really. After antennagate I would think that Apple started over with their design of iPhone 5 which delayed it.

OTOH iPad has a complete and total domination of the tablet market and they have no competition therefore there's no need for them to release a new version only 6 months after the iPad 2. Plus they've always had a release cycle of a least a year between releases.

 

Shrug...

Can't a guy wish. Let's me have more time to save up

 

Also you say at least 1 year for the iPad, yet the 1st gen came out in April and 2nd gen in march. Looks like less than a year to me. Plus it's only the 2nd generation, IMO too new to really make a generalization on product updates.

change the browser agent string in settings. what do you have it set to? Mine goes to regular facebook...

 

actually mine goes to mobile FB too, there's a slight difference in the user agent string it reports compared to safari

I could have sworn that it used to go to the www site. Maybe facebook just started paying attention to the ichromy agent.

 

This. but I don't know why it would decide to pull up the mobile site instead. It does say "mobile" in the UA string maybe that's what's causing it, I'm sure if Chromy decided to make their UA identical to safari on the iPad then it would work fine but if you change the UA in iChromy option the Mac OS X Safari then it works again.

Do any of y'all have any issues with Google search's? Just recently, when I search something in safari's google search box, it will pull a "404". If I shut it off and restart, it will work a while before doing the same. WTF?

Also ordered an Anti-Glare Filter from Power Support. THe reflection on this thing is horrible. I've been in so many situations where I can't see a damn thing because of the reflection on the screen. If Apple sold a matte version, I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

Unfortunately you can't. They had one that you could, but it was sized to fit the first gen iPad; they haven't yet released one that fits the iPad2. Although I don't know the exact differences between the iPad 1 and 2, maybe it'll fit?

How is the Netflix website on the iPad?

It sucks ass and is laggy as hell on the iPhone :thumbsdow

I just want to add a damn bluray to my queue and it takes me like 5 minutes cause it's laggy as hell trying to type in the movie.

 

I don't think you can add movies to your queue with the netflix app, I thought they removed that capability

WHat about stock safari?

It just takes me a long time when I press on the Bar to type in a movie before the keyboard shows up. And then when I do type it takes ages before the letters show up.

I don't know if it's only my iPhone or the same for others.

 

Sorry misread your post. You're correct, you can. Just flip it over and put the pad in from the other side. I got mine the other day and so far am liking it. I just wish there was a way to stand it up or close it up in such a way that the pad doesn't get all messed up if I want to use the ipad in landscape mode.


Also, if you don't use headphones, be prepared for poor sound quality with this case. I don't know who the geniuses at apple were that decided to face the speaker AWAY from the person holding it, but because of that, the sound is muffled when in the case. I wasn't happy about the speaker facing away from me from the beginning, now it annoys me even more.

I think I'm gonna pickup the HDMI adapter for the iPad. Then I can use the ipad as a portable movie storage device. I can use the FileBrowser app to copy blu-ray ripped movies from my Windows Home Server share to the iPad and carry a few around with me. So I can go over to a friends house to watch a movie on my iPad and play it on their TV in 1080p.

Anyways, thanks to technoking and. Me spending the time to figure out why the fuck iTunes on my MBP wont update any idevices I got ios 5 GM running on my iPad 2

Haven't really done much except for the initial setup and sign up for iCloud so no real first impressions yet

 

Trying out the split keyboard while typing this. Man it really makes me use my right hand more than I'm used to. I always use my left hand to hit the y key now I have to use my right hand
