There's an app for that...

It turns out the 9.7 inch display on the iPad with a 1024x768 screen resolution works great for a full VDI XenDesktop. Windows applications run unmodified and securely in the data center, and even multiple applications at once. The advancements that were made for the Citrix Receiver for iPhone will carry over to the iPad, however the iPhone restrictions of screen size and small keyboards are overcome with the iPad. It's a beautiful thing ! The iPad looks to be an ideal end point device that can empower users to be productive were ever they are and IT will be able to safely deliver company hosted virtual desktops and apps without worry.

Wouldn't that just blow your mind? Apple creates the hardware, MS develops an app for it's OS and it's sold through the app store by mutual agreement that was planned the whole time.

The big secrets out!

That would be like the Hatfields and McCoys puttin the shotguns down.

Yeah, right.

<---- Gave away free iPod and iTouch received in the past...and picked a Sony Ericsson P1i smartphone over the iPhone when given the choice (as a gift).

So, that makes me a bigger hater than srika. Although, I'm not as bitter or mean as him.

I'll admit it. If the iPad was designed by Sony, I'd definitely be in line right now in -30 weather.

Call me narrow-minded or techno-racist. But, I have a unreasonable belief that North Americans cannot design personal electronic devices and they are bound to fail or crap out.

How about blind? I don't buy Sony anymore because every time I have it's crapped out right after warranty expiration. Couple that with a love of proprietary physical devices (MemoryStick, Beta, SACD, etc....) and Sony, for me, is synonymous with junk that doesn't play nice and therefore gets none of my money.

None of my Sony products have ever crapped out (or other Japanese/Asian-designed products like Samsung and etc.)...?

But, every North American device I've supported have driven me crazy. Let's start with Compaq and HP workstations (i.e. Vectras and/or Deskpros). Then, I moved from that to the wonders of Palm Treos (I think I aged 20 years doing that)...

Meanwhile, the Toshibas, Sonys and Acers I've dealt with...reliable. Long-lasting.

Count me in with that group. All the stuff everyone claimed broke on them numerous times...the PS, the PS2, MD, etc...all worked fine.

Not that I've had too many non-software problems with Apple stuff.

^ HP owns them now...?

And again, proves my point: North American companies can't make personal electronics.

Or toys for that matter.

Take a walk into a toy store in Japan or Taiwan...and compare that to the crap you get in a North American TRU or whatever. Man...it's sad.

And everything Sony we have owned crapper out on us.
3x PS3, 3x TVs, 1x Walkman, 1x MD player. The only thing that has survived was a sony camcorder with th 1st generation night shot.

^ I blame the operator. And the fact that I think you're the second coming of Connie Chung.

Remember: I already told you you're not really Asian anymore. It's not possible.

cisco? Dell? M$FT? Google? (then again I don't think they actually make the phones), APPL?
There are IMO some good NA personal electronics companies.

They are sold outside of NA, though you can still get some laptops here.

Do you guys know when we will hear more about the HP slate? Or any other tablet/slates coming out?

The ipad will do what I want one for, but no flash support is 25% a deal breaker for me.

And those complaining about no multi tasking should do it like on those AT&T commercials with the guy holding 2 droids.

Have both an ipad and iPhone.
Multitasking solved
