Some who purchased their iPad on launch day have experienced wireless connectivity issues with their new device, with reports of weak Wi-Fi reception, dropped signals and difficulty connecting to a network.

I was at my brothers house tonight watching the game and it tooks 6 or 7 tries of entering his wifi password to join the network and while I was watching the game the connection dropped twice!

Anyone else here having the same problem? Damn you Apple and your buggy shit!
I've had the same problem with my iPhone since 3.0. They fucked up the code or something. Huge thread on the iPhone aspect on the apple forums.

^Now that you bring that up, my friend's been having issues with his 3GS too. It's so weird.... we'll be in the same car, and he tries to use Google maps but it doesn't work. He tries again, and I try also, and mine works fine and quickly, and his still doesn't work.

His 3GS is newer maybe that has something to do with it?

I'll randomly get disconnected from my home network, and then it'll usually take 3 or 4 attempts to re-connect before it finally does. Has happened at least once or twice every day since I got it on Saturday. I don't have these issues with any other wireless device on my network.

Hmmmm maybe it wasn't my router that had issues with the wifi going out.

Then again my sister was having problems connecting with her laptop as well so

I did notice one time, after I got the airport base station, that my iPhone all of a sudden said there were no wifi networks and a quick check on my desktop showed that it was actually up

Pretty nice they give you this option - didn't know about it. Probably my biggest gripe with the iphone is getting photos off of it. Like right now, I plug it in and it won't give me the scanner/camera wizard thing - so the best I can do is email the photo to myself, and then it sizes it down. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps. Had this problem for a while, and it's definitely a "known issue".

I have not seen any WiFi issues, i think people just have shitty, cheap POS routers.

Some slick iPad apps:
Roambi Visualizer, Analytics HD (GoogAnalytics), Adobe Ideas, Nota HD, Minigore HD

Well you should have figured that I don't have a shitty router. I use the dlink dir-655 router, that thing is bad ass and I get coverage with all my other devices (macs, iPhones, PCs, all over the house. Everything but the iPad gets great signal

are you serious???!?!???

its very easy to get the photos off of the iPhone.

in win7 goto:
computer -> under portable devices double click on your iphone -> internal storage -> DCIM -> 100apple

and bam, all your photos and videos for you to copy to wherever you want on your pc.

i think its also possible to have iTunes sync your photos and shit onto a folder on your computer.

^^ yeah that's the problem, the iphone is not recognized by windows anymore. on the 1 computer I have itunes installed. (I refuse to install it on my good Win7 box, I don't want crap software on it ). I used to be able to do it, now it won't recognize it. I've tried all the regular basic and advanced troubleshooting.

I have the Verizon Fios issued router. I don't get a choice, I have to use the one they give me. But like Stunna, I have not had issues with any of the other wireless devices that have connected to my router - multiple laptops, a netbook, Droid, Blackberry, Ipod Touch, Xbox 360, and a Wii. The Ipad is the only device that has had these issues.

Off the topic of the iPad or this issue: if you don't like the router in your FIOS device, you can just use it as a network bridge and add any router you want. You have to do some configuration changes, but you aren't locked in to the G router that it probably came with.

I noticed that too. I used to do it the exact way Mizouse stated, but now it doesn't show up in the Computer "file". Is your iPhone jailbroken? Mine is.... though I don't remember if it still worked after I JB'd it.... pretty sure it did.

Does your iPhone still sync with iTunes? You didn't disable the apple mobile device driver in msconfig did you?

deleting it how? device manager? that's how you should do it (choose uninstall and check box that says delete device drivers), I'd also uninstall and reinstall iTunes.

Cool, that's good to know in case I want to change it out. So far it's been fine - except this Ipad issue, but I really don't think my router is the problem...

Actually he's quoting the updated price from supply now that they've actually seen one and torn it apart. It's actually more expensive then the original quote

So, those of you with it, how's it been outside of the home? I've been hearing that unless you use it in a WiFi spot 90% of the time, it can get rather...dull. And due so, some are recommending on waiting for the 3G model.

But, I'm curious to your experiences.

That really isn't bad. I wholesale for a living and your standard mark up is about 100% in my field. You have to understand that apple has to pay for electricity, employees, the stores, etc, etc. You should see the markup on jewelry, my standard is about 1,300 percent. This is the mark up the basic jewelry companies go for while high end is wayyyy wayyy more.

yeah, I don't think it's bad either. typical markup for a device like that.

It's useful if you want to estimate the impact of various volumes of the iPad on Apple's gross margins.

I know I have nitpicked before but I *truly* was not trying to do that by posting that here. I just happened to see it on the elevator at work, and I posted it here a few minutes later. And that is all.

My gruff is more with that crap from Engadet and reading the comments from the dumb asses over there. But no other company is more put under the microscope than Apple, simply because it's Apple. You don't see other breakdowns such as this for other companies with similar products.

Thats because other companies don't present their product with some guy in a black shirt saying that the device is "magical" and "revolutionary"....
