This thread hasn't seen much action in a while. I finally took the plunge and bought an iPad today. I had been saving up and got some money for my birthday (which is also today,
) and bought a black 64GB wifi model. SO excited to start using it...too bad its syncing.
Any suggestions for cool apps on the iPad? I'm also not sure if I want to buy a smart cover or not..

Does anyone with a 1st gen ipad feel like performance is getting really poor.
I am wondering if it is just me but particularly in the web browser it takes horribly long to render a page. I am also experiencing lots of browser crashes particularly on image rich pages.

I picked up a IP2 last week. Is it me or are both cameras a bit underwhelming? All the pictures that I've taken seems so grainy and that's with both the rear and front facing cameras. Other than that, it's been GRRRRRRRRRReat!
This thing is addicting. I wasn't 100% sure at first but after a few hours, wow. I'm not sure why I didn't get one sooner. There's certainly a learning curve on this keyboard though...the backspace button and my pinky are becoming good friends...
Anyone use Friendly for Facebook? It seems like a decent enough app. Just wondering if there's something better out there.

Any time an app seems to get slow or glitchy I "close" the program in the mutlitask bar and restart it. Works fine.

Facebook to Launch iPad App, Preparing Web-Based Mobile Platform
June 17, 2011 7:00 am PDT by Eric Slivka
The New York Times reports that Facebook is finally set to release a free iPad app "in coming weeks", remedying a curious omission for the social networking service that touts over 600 million users worldwide.
People briefed on Facebook's plans say that in coming weeks the company plans to introduce a free iPad application that has been carefully designed and optimized for the tablet.
The app has been in production at Facebook for almost a year, going through several design iterations, and is now in the final stages of testing, according to these people, who declined to be named because they were discussing confidential product plans.
Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who along with other company executives noted last November that the company was still been trying to decide how best to handle the iPad, is said to have been "heavily involved" in the app's development.
People who have seen the application said it has a slick design that has been tailored for the iPad and its touchscreen interface. Facebook developers and designers have also overhauled the Facebook Chat and Facebook Groups features for the application. And the app will go beyond the features available on the Facebook Web site by allowing users to shoot and upload photos and videos directly from the iPads built-in cameras.
Facebook's iPad app comes just as TechCrunch reports that the company is preparing to launch a new HTML5-based mobile platform codenamed "Project Spartan" that would take on iOS on its home turf by running within the mobile Safari browser.
As of right now, there are believed to be 80 or so outside developers working with Facebook on Project Spartan. These teams are working on apps for the platform that range from games to news-reading apps. Some of the names should be familiar: Zynga and Huffington Post (owned by our parent AOL), for example. The goal is to have these apps ready to roll in the next few weeks for a formal unveiling shortly thereafter.
Facebook's vision for Project Spartan reportedly includes integration of its Facebook Credits payment system that would allow developers to offer paid apps and in app purchases directly through the web-based platform.

I hope they change it so when you post something on facebook via the app it says "posted via Facebook for iOS" rather than "posted via Facebook for iPhone". The app isn't just for iPhones...
Nope. That's what I mean. It always says "Posted via Facebook for iPhone" regardless of if its an iPhone or iPod Touch. Facebook never changed it from when iOS was called "iPhone OS". Just a small little thing that's always bugged me.
there are numerous bugs that i always run into (and all my friends. hard to believe mizouse haven't yet)
one example and the biggest one probably is the comment notification of the photos. facebook app tells me xxx replied to my photo, i go there, not only does it sometimes takes me to wrong photo, sometimes it doesn't even load all the comments properly. i'm sure it has to do with buffer on device, but i can't believe they haven't fixed it yet.
(sometimes, workaround is to refresh your notifications and it may or may not work)
