I have problems like that on their website. I can click a link to see a comment or photo and get rerouted to AZ.

Hey guys....I decided this time to take my iPad with me to Vegas instead of stealing my brother's netbook...I primarily need it to connect to my desktop at work when I need to do some work while away. Can anyone suggest a good (and cheap) app so I can remotely connect to my desktop pc at work?

Ah I was just looking into this earlier this evening...

Look up the app Splashtop Remote Desktop. Might want to hurry as they claim to be having a 70% off "sale". It's $2.99 right now. Normally is $10.

It looks like a really nice app, it's had tons of reviews. Average is 4.5/5 stars. I'm tempted to buy it but don't know what I would use it for.

I know it's not "cheap", but LogMeIn is the best remote desktop software out there. Plus, at $30, it's really not that expensive at all (less then a tank of fuel).

Oh, and I finally broke down and bought an iPad 2 yesterday

Makes me mad that the app is $30 when I can use LogMeIn from my PC for free. But it's still a good solution.

It's $30 for a 30 day trial. You have to pay if I read from all the reviews right, like $70/year or something. I won't be using my iPad for remote desktop often enough for it to be worth spending $70 per year for it. And I agree with doop, I have it free on my PC, but you have to pay for it on the iPad, sucks.

Installed. Waited until tonight though, and it cost me $4.99. Oh well.

Got my laptop at home connected and my PC at work connected. It's going to take some getting used to, but I think it should be good enough for my needs - I hope.

For LogMeIn, all you have to do is buy the App on the app store and then set up a free account. You won't get all of the cool features with the free acount, but for basic remote control, it works great.

And FYI, Apple gets most of that $30 . . .

You have to buy the app for $30 to download/install it...

Glad to hear. Hopefully it does what you want it to do. I think I might have to buy it while its still cheap.

Does anyone have any suggestions for good apps/games to kill some time with? I found Shape Shift HD which is a good one. The iPad app store kind of sucks in terms of browsing and discovering good apps..

Though there are some things within the app that say "free for a limited time", so I have a feeling at some point they will charge for certain features within the app, just not sure if it's going to apply to everyone including those that already have the app, or to the new customers only.

For example, the part of the app that enables you to connect to whatever computers you want to add to the app, it says "free for a limited time", so at some point they may charge for each PC you link to the app, I think.

Omg! Everyone go download iChromy right now!!

Hoy shit it's so much better than safari. It's basically google chrome for the iPad. It has tabbed browsing, speed dial and the ui takes up less space than safari. It also has search and address bar in one and it has offline reading mod,e Oh and it has incognito mode

Anyone try out the Bamboo Stylus for iPad? (http://www.wacom.com/en/Products/BambooStylus.aspx)

The Bamboo Paper app (http://www.wacom.com/en/Products/Bam...mbooPaper.aspx) is currently free (normally $1.99), thinking about picking up the stylus.

WAY overpriced, get Boxwave's from amazon.com about $10. I've been using Penultimate, $1.99, but Paper is free, so I'll check it out.

just check amazon.com they are $15.00 now.

Thanks for the info. As for the paper app, here is my review of it that I sent to Wacom:

Your website does not provide a means for providing feedback about your products so I am posting them here. I recently download the Bamboo Paper app for the iPad and there are two things I wish to share with you. The first is that I wish the app allowed for additional "notebooks". Organizing your sketchbooks, notes, projects is highly critical in my opinion for an app like this. And second, a templating system. I like the idea of choosing a paper style. How about other templates? For example, a handy template that has a predrawn iPhone or iPad within the template making it easier to mock up application designs. Or a web design template where a browser window with a grid inside the window area to assist web developers in mocking up website designs. Or how about a isometric grid. These templates could be provided by the public and submitted to a system on your end and selectable through the app. The possibilities are endless! I have other ideas, but my post is long enough as it is. LOL

I haven't used iOS 5 but seems to have similar features except for reader but my guess is that iChromy will have a slightly better UI than safari in iOS 5

I've removed safari from my dock and replaced it with iChromy, it's that good.....

I didn't think tabbed browsing was that big of a deal on the iPad until I tried it on iChromy, it's so good I giggled like a little school boy when I first used it

it appears it doesn't have a pop up blocker, I'm sure they'll be adding more features as it goes along, this is version 1.1.

If safari in iOS5 is better I'll have no prob switching back but I'm sure iChromy will be a lot better by the time iOS5 drops.

Remember when Apple used to block other browsers from the app store because they duplicated features already in iOS? Ah, the good ole days.....a simpler time...

This happened the last time there was a browser based jail break. Iirc apple tried to press charges or something to the person caught and just blocked the website.

Also doesn't really matter if you jb the ones at the apple store since they restore them everyday.

No it was when the iPhone 4 launched. After that there was a browser exploit for 4.0 and 4.0.1. I posted a pic of one at the apple store.
