Was the kickstand case this one?

In for your review of it. I like the clear case and the idea of the kickstand, but the reviews have me hesitant...and it appears to lack the corner "bumper" protection of my Spigen clear case.
Note 8 is quite an excellent phone. It's very responsive, beautiful and in the right case, it's just the perfect size. My biggest and only quirk right now is the damn Iris Scanner. If you are trying to unlock your phone in the middle of the night, it shoots blinding death rays at you as the screen lights up like a midday sun. So whats the solution besides keeping the phone unlocked when I'm home? (I believe there is an option to keep phone unlocked if in chosen safe location.)
Welp, the clear Spigen we both went with initially is my clear (pun intended) winner. While the kickstand is great and nicely made, the case just seemed much less safe for the phone. Also because of the black edging the phone looks :blah:. At night when I get a message or alert my phone glows around the edges which allows the whole case to glow. Not the case with the kickstand one. I'll be trying that screen protector you recommended next.
Good luck installing the dome! Just take your time and watch the video ahead of time. Pay attention to how the case fits on your phone before you begin the install. That will give you an idea of the exact placement needed for the dome.
so, I follow some tech-related groups on Facebook and when DxOmark.com announced the iPhone 8/8+ had the highest rating for its camera, it was all over Facebook... Now the Note 8 has tied with the same score and I've yet to see anyone post it

ugh, I dunno... I'm kinda losing faith with DxOmark... the fact that they completely skipped the S8/S8+ (which is supposed to be the sensor as the Note 8) and then had a Pixel to test ahead of time, held off the scores until the same day of Google's announcement makes me think they have Google in their "pockets"
Wonder why LG isn't on the list? The v20 camera (not to mention video) is amazing. And the v30 will be even better.
What are your guys thoughts on the Pixel 2? Or other phones out now besides Samsung? It seems iphone and Samsung always get the headlines. IDK

just priorities!
others prioritize phones higher than I would.
but for me; ive always had great luck with $350-450 phones.
the Original Pixel just got a price cut of $100, still isnt in my sweet spot...but I bet big box stores will offer additional rebates/gift cards to go along with it.

Goddamn Samsung. Now I get this error on my S7 Edge and I hear it's very common with the 8's too.

Mind you the phone has water resistance and water NEVER got on/in it. From reading it's clearly a USB plug issue. I just got this phone like 2 mos ago so I'm calling Asurion even though I cancelled my ATT insurance and line.

Just hung up with ATT Tech Support. They remoted in and don't think it's hardware. If anything I'll test in safe mode and then probably eventually wipe the phone. If after the wipe it doesn't work then they'll exchange it. They sent me a free wall charger for my trouble but I might invest in a qi charger.
Having (been, for a while) a weird issue with Google maps and my Nexus 5X.
If I search on my computer (any computer, tried a few) on Google Maps and get directions somewhere, I like to be able to click on "send directions to phone" and viola, it sends the routing directly to my phone.
Thing is, it hasn't worked for months. I give feedback via the web, etc. but nothing...
I know I can send via SMS or email, or even just access my search history in the maps apps on the phone, but it's less convenient.
Anyone else use this feature? Does it work, and if so, are you on a Nexus device?

Just an FYI
I stopped by on Saturday to one of those Samsung stores to see the latest cool Samsung gadgets including their VR content. They apparently give out free custom cases which they print on site for S8, S8+ and Note 8. Got my free case =]

This'll probably make most people in this forum projectile vomit, but:

As someone who probably spends 95% of my phone time either reading, maps, and/or doing the occasional social media,
a foldable phone (preferably screen, but that has it's own issues) is the ultimate in terms of maxing out the 'biggest screen I can put in my pocket'.
You definitely need some sort of fancy case for it, or that back screen will get scraped up in a HURRY.
I'm still pretty happy with my MI Mix. The Mix 2 was a dissapointment.
Not sure what I'd go to if I broke it. Probably another one, actually.

The bar in the middle is okay for reading and junk, since it's like a book.
Videos/pictures would be annoying as hell with a bar in the middle, and I'd probably use use one side for that - it's still a decent 5.2" phone in that respect,
and ideally it's full screen picture on one side - no taskbar/notification bar/anything. I quite dig using one side for a full fat-fingered keyboard.
It's definitely more of a 'would anyone actually support this?' type of thing, not unlike the note 1 and Mi mIx. That's why it's not high end hardware.

How does this compare to Note 8?
