No idea how much softer Soldier Field was last week in that weather. Still...they do have a point.

what a terrible game. Our pass defense is shit, period. Our QB situation is
It seems our defense is just as inconsistent as our QB play. Beat the crap out of the Seahawks and got the crap beat out of us the next week. Just plain outplayed... finding out that the Chargers were 19-1 in December since '06 kind of made it suck less. Make that 20-1 now. Good luck to whoever faces them this December.
and the Chargers have the #1 defense this season?!?! wtf.... well, it sure looked like it.

Bears' Cutler Concerned About Playing Surface
" Cutler said the players feel helpless when it comes to having their feelings heard by the league regarding the playing venue."

He has some maturing to do; Cutler, that is.
But, he's the most talented QB Chicago has had in...ever. So, upgrade over anything I've seen in recent memory.

I was very young at the time and back then, it was Sweetness ruling the offense. And after that, a lot of hand-offs to Neal Anderson. I don't really remember much of Jimbo.
As for Harbaugh, he doesn't have the arm strength Cutler has. Put it this way, if Cutler had some semblance of an O-line, he'd have some good numbers. I'm not his biggest fan but he's the best QB, talent-wise, Chicago has seen in a very long time.

Keep in mind, I'm saying talent. His bone-headed passes and lack of an O-line pretty much nullifies some of it. But, he's still got the tools to be an elite QB...
Will he put it together and get the cast to help him? Who knows.

He might have a porous O-line in front of him, but he does NOTHING to adapt to situations. When you get sacked 4 times in the first half, logic would dictate it's time to abandon the 7-step drop and look for the quicker dump-passes when the D is throwing 8-men at the line.
I've seen 4 or 5 games this year and his lack of ability to adapt is befuddling.

If he was walter-s stupid he'd never have been a QB in college.
Culter IS NOT the one who calls the plays, it's up to the OC to change the game plan based on what the defense is doing to them.
Culter is and has always been a pocket QB, if the O line can't give him protection. He might roll out some, but...

My comments aren't directed at Vanderbilt University - one hell of an academic institution. I'm saying if you want to go to the NFL, Vandy usually isn't the route. Irrespective of what douchebags at Illinois did to Cutler to force him into going there.

It still got him into the NFL, along with many of players that have gone there. Seems to be smart enough to get into a Uni that rated in the top 20 year after year.

Hey, try to keep it civil folks...
Anyhow, bgsm1th, as jupes wrote, the 12 million step drops were more the play-calling than Cutler being stubborn. That of course, does not absolve him of his bad passes off his back-foot or the costly INTs in the red zone (i.e. forcing the ball into quadruple coverage).
That being said, Cutler's time in Chicago has had 2 things going against him: a bad O-line and a new offense to learn every year.
And no, I'm not at all comparing Cutler to Brady...but, for effs sakes, Brady's been in the same system since the beginning of time and his O-line has ALWAYS been fantastic. Give any QB that with some talent and well, you'd have HoF numbers too.
