They should change their names to "cerouno" and "cerodos".

My fearless confidence pool tiebreaker score predictions:

Bears 13, Vikings 10
Patriots 51, Packers 3

Agreed. And now we have a rookie (Cheney) filling in for Bradley at MLB! Heard we just signed Derrick Burgess to take over Graham's spot at DE (torn ACL). At least we don't have Smith to worry about at WR.

NHL players tend to be leap-years better in class than other pro-sport athletes...

Dancing on ice, hockey players are so much tougher than any bitch playing football. Stub a toe, their calling for someone to take their place.

Eric Belanger had seven teeth knock out in a game last year, he went to the bench and was reaching in his mouth pulling them out so they could stop the bleeding and get back in the game.

As much as I love the NFL, I do have to agree with jupes...NHL players are pound for pound THE toughest pro athletes out there. Bar none.

Wussiest...? MLB athletes.

As much as I love the NHL, NFL players aren't exactly bitches

I know everyone loves to hate on Favre but I have no idea how he played with two ankle fractures. I think he had some sort of upper body injury too. Then you have Big Ben playing with a broken nose that looked different on every play

You try standing in there while 300+ lb grown men who are out for your blood are running full speed at you from every direction, even where you can't see. I don't care what kind of pads you're wearing, getting crushed between a 300 lb man and turf with no give isn't going to tickle. Or run full speed into another guy who's running full speed right at you 10-15 times, while both of you are wearing cleats are firmly planted into the ground. That's basically the life of a special teams player.

The only players that are wusses are probably the kickers and punters. Though I think the kicker for the Cowboys played linebacker in college and Brian Moorman is just a bad ass dude. Took a full-speed missile shot from Sean Taylor (RIP) and got right back up.

Toughest athletes out there to me are MMA fighters

nevermind it took him a second, but he DID get up. You try getting up after a shot like this.

^ You try going back onto the ice with 7 of your teeth knocked out by a puck shot at high-speeds...

Hockey players are the toughest. And yeah, I agree football players aren't all wusses. But, pound-for-pound...NHL players are just -worthy given the abuse they take.

Football is played one day per week, hockey plays sometime four games per week, with more than one person giving and/or taking hits like that regularly.

Not going to go tit for tat on video to prove who plays a harder game. I know it's hockey.

My point is, football players are not soft. I don't know where that assumption comes from, really. Yes, hockey players on ice go much faster, but the boards have give and they don't collide head to head as often as they do in football, and hockey players are smaller in weight on average, and the weight discrepancies aren't as crazy.

I wouldn't probably cause I'd be wearing a facemask I have no idea why so few hockey players wear faceguards. Being tough is one thing, being stupid is another. I like having teeth, don't know about you guys.

Well, the entire Detroit Red Wings team is all sissy...and all :ghey:...

I agree. Quite.

That organization drafted fairies. Used the same criteria as the Green Bay Lackers and the Minny Dikings.

Sure as hell looks like they flex when players fly into them.

On the other hand I sure as hell have never seen the turf squish.

Just from physics, you have a large man skating (hence gaining speed and momentum) into someone for a body-check...

I'd say that hurts.

The new turf that are being used with the fake grass and have the rubber pellets that splash are design to give some when a player goes down. But I'm not disparage the hits they take a couple times per game.

Running backs run 20 yards and they're calling for a replacement so they can get oxygen on the sideline.

And then you have hockey teams which sub out their lines every few minutes

If by toughness you mean physical endurance I guess soccer players are the best, they play on a humongous field and run around for what seems like hours and hours on end really though, there is nothing magical about the ice that makes you tougher than normally are on grass. The human body has its physical limits, period, doesn't matter what sport you're playing.

I think tennis players are the toughest athletes. You see the way they give away a scream every time they hit the ball? It's brutal....

There are a plethora of football players that play with a broken arm, or ankle, or shoulder, or missing teeth, or a broken nose, or broken fingers, the list goes on. I'm sure a similar list could be applied to hockey players as well. Another list could me made for both sports about "wussie" players.

To say hockey players are tougher because they play more games, is asinine. If that were true, then baseball players would be the toughest.

I give the most respect to hockey players for their ability to be agile and maintain balance on that thin ass blade.

Baseball players can go through a whole season without physically being hit by another player. You'll see it at second base and homeplate, but any other position is almost a no. You can have some outfielder run into a wall. But don't bring baseball into this.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't have sportsmanship, but this is a different league than when I watched it growing up. /rant
Have to agree...very few good rivalries in any sport these days, and the ones that are there don't compare with the old ones.

This place needs a full house cleaning and it starts with the coaching staff (and, I wish, the owner), so I don't necessarily disagree with him. No discipline and the play calling is horrendous...OC Bratkowski needed to go years ago. We need somebody like Ditka that won't take shit and will turn this place into a boot camp :smitler:

DC Zimmer is the only one I'd keep...he's a good coach and this year isn't his fault.

I might get to see porky throw some ill advised passes to someone wearing the wrong uniform.

It would be a shitty first NFL game, but free is free.

OMG I saw that live against the hated Trojans. Luck is a baller, I will root for whatever franchise he goes to and look forward to a good Orange Bowl.

BTW, you guys want a tough sport try Lacrosse. I played defenseman in college, man that was like hockey on grass. Guys would get lit up, nothing made me happier than seeing an attackman sprinting towards me with his face turned back to receive a pass. I'd time my hit to coincide with the second he squared his shoulders and I'd literally be in the air as I dropped my shoulder into his chest. Hearing that groan of pain would always make my day. Using the aluminum stick to poke the armpit, elbows, and tomahawk the knee when going for the groundball was daily business in practice.

Just brought up baseball because they play the most games as a counter to your assertion that more games = toughness.

Supposedly Da Bears are going to protest the game. Apparently it's alright for them to play their home games in shitty weather, but having to do it for an away game is unacceptable.
