The Lin bandwagon is different from the Knicks one....

I'm Down Right Fierce!
Although, I think CGE is right. In reality I'm rooting for Jeremy Lin and hope that he does well... a side effect of that will of course be that the Knicks do well.
And hey New Yorkers... wtf is this MSG television crap! Its like impossible to find a steady stream (probably cause only one person is sourcing). Go pressure them to sign a deal with a big cable company like Time Warner/Cox. /endrant
Rematch of Clips vs. Mavs coming up!

I won't even go into how many Patriot fans came out of the woodwork once the current dynasty snagged a VLT in SB XXXVI. Before that, only the occasional Bledsoe jersey popped up here and there and it seemed like Pat fans were generally only found north of Providence.

very interesting
Unbeaten boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has posted a swipe at the New York Knicks' point guard sensation on Twitter.
Mayweather posted on Monday: "Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise."
Lin has led the Knicks to five straight victories, including a 38-point game against the Lakers.
Mayweather rarely hesitates to air racially charged opinions, either in person or in social media.
He has repeatedly insulted rival Manny Pacquiao, including an online video in 2010 in which he used racial and homophobic slurs against the Filipino congressman.
Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather's top adviser, didn't immediately return a phone call.
fuck u gayweather u chicken shit

As much as that's part of it (being Asian), I think a number of factors add to the novelty and legend of Jeremy Lin.
a) Asian. Not many of 'em in the NBA.
b) Harvard GRAD. Not many of them in the NBA, let alone those that graduate from college altogether in something other than basketweaving.
c) Scoring average. No one on their first 5 starts has averaged what he has.
d) New York. It happening in the capital of the world, for everyone to see.
e) Humbleness. Athletes being who they are, this is a rare, yet prized trait.
Mayweather's just noise. He's been saying this for years about Pacquaio, who doesn't trash talk back. What's Jeremy supposed to do, challenge him to a fight?

f) Benchwarmer. Jeremy was riding deep on the pine until forced onto the floor due to the two superstars being out of commission.

That said, I wouldn't take to heart the comments of someone who's in a sport where repeated blows to the head are a common occurrence.

Let's keep the racial stuff to a minimum real talk.
That's who Mayweather is. People are going to hate on Lin, just like people hate on Kobe, wade, and the rest of NBA players out their today, someone always has something to say.
And to the bandwagon, I understand being a Lin fan ok, but not being a damn Laker fan and then a week later when Lin is blowing up your all I'm a knicks fan.

And it's like this little filter in his head isn't working, so he just pew pews.

Honestly, talk like this makes me want to hit the courts and make believers outta people. That's the attitude Jeremy should have.

I also read somewhere that he wasn't the first too...kinda low/uneducated they always play the race card. I mean it's already 2012, the NBA is full of players from different race, the world is going to end soon! Time to move on and accept!
