But, let's just be honest now, Waldorf...if Doty, Quick, Soygoj, or Ravioli won a star of week/month, we'd be hearing about it for weeks. So...don't hate on Ack.

Ben Scrivens named NHL first star of the week
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=692093

I never said jack back when he was the number one star.

I could care less.

...and also, let's be honest now, who really cares about the Eastern Conference.
That conference this year is basically minor league hockey.

5 losses in a row. It's like 2011/12 all over again.

It's okay bud. Only need 40 points to make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.

jeez what a crazy game. two periods of boredom and le-turnover doing what he does best, then it got exciting after that penalty shot. isles fans have no class and are a bunch of cry babies. guess the refs blew a 2 goal lead and a missed penalty shot, huh? rocked my Neal jersey and he got a goal which was awesome, then crosby goes all mario lemieux on the isles d for the OT winner right in front of me.

it is extremely annoying to hear people yelling "princess crosby" when he's not even on the ice, and to have middle aged long island housewives bitch about the isles not shooting the puck for the entire game.

keep calling the ice girls "c*nts" you virgin high schoolers whose balls haven't dropped yet. im sure they will shoot the t-shirts to you next.

cal clutterbuck is a D-bag. thomas hickey looks to be about 5 foot 6 on skates and neal would have demolished him in a fight, but hickey ran away.

tavares is a pussy. how about fighting malkin instead of slashing him? malkin got abused every time he was within 5 feet of the crease and then finally started fighting back and gets a penalty.

prince henrik re-signs 7 years $8.5MM / year. That's a lot of money for a non cup winning goalie.

Rangers just screwed themselves for years to come.
That's a TON of $$$ for a goaltender that has achieved ZERO in the playoffs.

Coming Soon: Compliance Buyout.

So Gretzky wants in, in Toronto, now that the NHL has paid him all that was owed from Phoenix.......

Will he center the first line?

Will dom's head explode if the hated great one with the evil high stick from '93 joins the franchise?

Hockey season officially starts tonight with the 722nd regular season meeting between the B's and the stinking Habs. For the 5th meeting in a row, 1st place in the division is on the line.

gaaaa Hank misplays the puck, gives it away & loses the shutout.

& then Callahan & Nash both miss the empty net.

But Rangers win 3-1.

Huh? Where'd you hear that?

Leafs outshot 50-24 tonight honestly, it's as if they practice how to NOT play defence.

Bra trick? Taylor Hall fan offers support after third goal vs. Avs (Photo)

Taylor Hall made a lot of people happy on Thursday night with his three-goal, one-assist game in the Edmonton Oilers’ 8-2 rout of the Colorado Avalanche.

Very happy. Happy enough to throw a hat from the stands after his third goal, a power-play tally with 11 seconds left in the game.

Happy enough to … throw a bra on the ice, too?

Pretty much, most people weren't even looking at the screen till the wrestler yelled "KENNEDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY"

It was so quick and pathetic, that when the crowd stood and applauded, Kennedy barely acknowledged it, just raised his stick and kept looking straight ahead. Shit the TeEmu tribute was like a minute and a half long

1)Orpik ha a chance to man up or his head shot, he declined.

2)Had Neal not intentionally kneed Marchand in the head, things wouldn't have escalated.

The pens needed someone to settle them down, Thornton did his job.

Neal did not knee him in the head on purpose, it was incidental contact.

There is NO excuse for what Thornton did, he came from the bench, slew foots Orpik from behind and pounds Orpik's head into the ice without warning or any chance for Orpik to defend himself. Absolutely disgusting

F00KING Rangers tie the game with 21 seconds left force their first overtime, get a double minor penalty immediately & give up the winner immediately.

Just saw the replays. Orpik's hit seemed clean.

Neal, not so much. I think he may be disciplined. Thornton's actions on Orpik...ehhh, he's going to suspended for sure.

McKenzie of TSN also weighs in on his thoughts...

Following James Neal's knee on Brad Marchand and Shawn Thornton's slew foot and punches to Brooks Orpik in the first period of the Pittsburgh Penguins-Boston Bruins game on Saturday, TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie weighed in on the two incidents on Twitter.

"I'm no rocket surgeon but have to think Shawn Thornton will get in-person hearing for knocking down Brooks Orpik and KOing him while down. I'd also imagine NHL [Department of] Player Safety will be looking hard at James Neal's knee to head of Brad Marchand for possible supplementary discipline."

McKenzie also addressed Orpik's initial hit on Loui Eriksson and his refusal to fight Thornton that precipitated the two incidents to follow.

"Orpik's hit on Eriksson was hockey play, could've been minor for interference, but well within context of game action. Orpik shouldn't necessarily be obliged to answer the bell to Thornton on that hit. It wasn't that egregious."

McKenzie believes Thornton will have a tough time explaining his actions.

"Thornton will have no defence for taking down Orpik and even less for punching him while he was down and not prepared to defend himself.

As for Neal, there could be more room for a benefit of the doubt based on actual intent.

"Neal on Marchand may or may not have been sneaky dirty or accidentally on purpose, but that's for NHL Player Safety to determine.

McKenzie also gave a final assessment on both.

"[My] guess is Thornton and Neal will both get suspended with Thornton somewhere between six games and double digits. Neal's number of games may hinge on Marchand's status.

Marchand did not leave the game.

Without a doubt Neal kneed him in the head on purpose. The pens were running wild and thorny settled them down, the outcome to Orpik was unfortunate but Orpik had the opportunity to answer the call for his headshot and chose not to. Thornton wasn't taking no for an answer after the knee to the head.

Live by the sword die by the sword, pens have great talent no doubt but if you are going to resort to dirty plays in order to raise your physical play then dont be shocked if the opponents retaliate.

You should watch the replay again, Eriksson never touches the puck and Orpiks right shoulder goes right into Erikssons head. The only reason Orpik isn't on the list for appointments with Shanny is Thornton already handed out his supplemental discipline.

Meanwhile fans of the dirty pens cry for Orpik while Eriksson has a concussion from Orpiks cheap shot and Chris Kelly is out from many of the slashes Pitt likes to give out.

Orpik's hit was shoulder on shoulder, Eriksson had his head down, and it snapped back, every replay I saw showed shoulder to shoulder contact. Orpik chose not to fight, so you are fine with him getting jumped from behind and beat unconscious? Give me a fucking break... And for more irony, just 3 days before he slew footed Orpik and beat him unconscious while he was defenseless on his back, he said this....

Fucking hypocrite...

He crossed 2 blue lines and attacked a guy from behind, that is not justice, it's dirty plain and simple
