In all honestly. I had no idea there even were outdoor games on until watching the highlights. Overkill to the extreme. But seems like they were at least very well attended which I guess would be considered a win for the NHL.

Yup, didn't even tune in to the Nucks/Sens tilt. But, given how well they are selling, I expect another wave next season...these gimmicks are here to stay for a bit methinks.

agreed, I liked when it was a once a year thing, I didn't even know the cansucks had one

re: Kesler rumor... I wouldn't trade Pouliot...I'd go Sutter/Despres/1st... They want Kesler for 3rd line center role / PK specialist / shutdown center (a la J. Staal) and as insurance if Malkin or Crosby goes down.

We also need a winger for Crosby (same old story since god knows when).

I'm hearing that they want Kesler as the winger for Crosby, then we're left without a 3rd line center unless they make another trade

You mean you don't win cups with Tanner Glass, Taylor Pyatt and Joe Vitale on your 3rd/4th lines? Who knew?

Toronto doesn't have a 1st, 2nd, 3rd (At least until Bolland comes back) or 4th line centre so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

Toronto doesn't have plans to make the playoffs, that may be the difference

The Edmonton Oilers acquired goalie Viktor Fasth from the Anaheim Ducks for a fifth round pick in 2014 and a third round pick in 2015 on Tuesday and traded goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick in the 2014 draft.

Fasth, 31, is in the first year of a two-year, $5.8 million contract signed after a strong 2012-13 season.

Fasth has played just five games this year for the Ducks, recording a .885 save percentage and 2.95 goals against average.

Fasth sports a career .915 save percentage and 2.32 goals against average.

Also on Tuesday, the Oilers traded goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov to the Minnesota WIld in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick in the 2014 draft.

And the Ducks dealt forward Dustin Penner the Washington Capitals for a fourth round pick.

Guess I'll have to Google it.

At Penner to the Caps. He's the missing ingredient to their success.
