Mebbe the Avs are playing so well because they know what Roy will do to them if they lose. Beat them senseless?

It's more likely that he would throw a hissy fit and demand to be traded.

Well that was a dissapointing game last night. Fourth Avs game I have been too in my life but first time they have lost. They just came out so flat in the first period and gave up two and had nothing going for them. I don't feel they really even showed up till 12min mark of the 2nd period and then they dominated but couldn't really get anything to go in. Was hoping this would be an easy win for them since they have a tough schedule coming up for the next seven games. Seven of the next eight games against the Hawks, Blues, and Wild

I have been really hesitant to get excited about them yet though as this is just like our start a few years back when they brought in Sacco. We started good then fell apart but had started so well we managed to slide into the playoffs with the 8th spot.

Based on what I saw last night I hope it was just an off night and not a preview of things to come. They just lacked any physical play. I hope the loss of Downie doesn't mean that all year.

Divisional games FTW. This is where we see just what teams are truly made of. Admittedly, the Western teams have not played each other much and have fattened up on feasting against the Eastern squads.

Kings call up the back-up goalie to the back-up Scrivvvvvenszzzzz.

Quick is sent home from the road trip. That's not a good sign.
Groin or hip flexor perhaps?

2014 STADIUM SERIES CHROME TEAM LOGOS

http://www.nhl.com/ice/gallerylandin...d=nhl:topheads

Hey look! We applied some filters to existing logos in photoshop, now go be a good fan and buy some new merch!

The Brooklyn Islanders logo looks odd without the circle and the island.....perhaps that is a sneak peak at their new logo?

Pffft...I was ready to bench the guy anyhow.

He pwned me again letting in 2 goals on just 19 shots. WTFBBQ.

Now I need a starting goalie...Brzgalov is available on the waiver wire!

So let's check on the Kings "walking dead"

Quick - the latest to be added to the list.

Stoll
Greene

What a mess.

Well, you don't see a bench-clearing brawl in women's hockey everyday...

19 ejections and 303 penalty minutes.

Sutter on Quick:

On whether Quick has gone through any tests at this point:

No. I just said it – he’s flying home to be evaluated by our doctors, and we feel it’s muscle-related. Our trainers would evaluate him. Those would be tests. That would be the normal procedure. We don’t have a rocket that can get him right back to L.A. You know what? You’ve got to leave Buffalo, and you’ve got to get somewhere else to get back to L.A, so it’s not quite as easy as you think. There’s no magic.
We don't have a rocket
There's no magic

Sutter wins hands down for NHL coach press quotes.

^ The best quote still goes to Hartley when he said gluing Roy, Belfour, and Brodeur together and still would not have won.

Hejduk is calling it quits. Guys like him retiring makes me feel old.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=6...d=nhl:topheads

"I decided to quit hockey," he told Blesk, a Czech daily newspaper. "I just have to announce it officially. In frame of one month there will be a press conference. And that's it, I'm done. … I wanted to quit after the end of last season. But my agent told me not to be crazy, that maybe some interesting offer would show up. But I realized I did not want to move somewhere else."

The youth hockey season also is underway. Hejduk and his wife live in the Denver area. His sons David and Marek play hockey and Hejduk coaches their peewee team.

"I am on the ice every day," he said. "I train the guys, try to teach them some things. To be honest I can't say I miss [pro] hockey."

Quick had a level 2 groin strain. No surgery needed.

My guess is he will be out 3-4 weeks.

3-4 weeks of Bernier is not that bad....oh wait.
