Los Angeles Kings Stanley Cup rings leak on Instagram (PHOTO)

The Los Angeles Kings will host the Chicago Blackhawks on Jan. 19, finally raising the first Stanley Cup banner in franchise history on a Saturday afternoon at Staples Center – where they won the title on June 11, 2012.

The Kings will also receive their championship rings on opening day. And here’s what they’ll look like:



The image showed up on Instagram on Thursday night, as the Kings held a preseason press conference with front office personnel and coach Darryl Sutter. It matches a concept published on the Let’s Go Kings boards last August.

Fans will get a replica banner on opening day, and Puck Podcast writes that fans will get a replica ring later in the season.

Pens #1 in both, even with the hardest division schedule in the shortened season

I like the Pens but not sure why they are ranked so high with the D-issues they had last year esp. during the playoffs.

They are top 5...but, honestly, the Kings should be at 1. Reigning champs. Size, defense, scoring, and goaltending...all are very good. What's with the disrespecting of that by the power rankers?

preranks don't mean shit. rangers and pens are the top 2 teams this season. with all the intradivision games, it will be difficult for both teams, especially with philly in the mix.

But, I think the fact that there are no more heavyweights in the West prompted the need from Carolina. Although, the story is that Stewart was also on waivers and so, Rutherford had to sweeten the pot to get Deano to take him...

And truly, Westgarth will fill a need for the Canes...

This is the sort of special waiver period as agreed to by the NHL and the NHLPA in the event of a lockout. IIRC there was something like this during the last lockout - it has to do with two-way, waiver eligible players, and they can be recalled throughout the season without having to go through re-entry waivers... or something like that.

Kings also put Campbell, Cliche, & Clune on waivers too.
