OTTAWA - A gash to Craig Anderson’s right hand threatens to put a huge slice in the Senators’ playoff hopes.
GM Bryan Murray could be forced to go shopping for a goalie — with Monday’s trade deadline fast approaching — after the club’s No. 1 netminder suffered a serious cut while preparing food at his home late Wednesday following a victory over the Washington Capitals.
While the Senators confirmed Anderson is out “indefinitely” but is expected to make a full recovery, sources told the Ottawa Sun he’ll be gone 10 days and possibly more, and has to be examined by a specialist. A source said the worst-case scenario for this type of injury is 6-8 weeks.
A source said surgery was required on the 30-year-old Anderson, who was still in hospital Thursday.

TSN's McKenzie:
Ya think?!?!?! Kings fans have been screaming about this for years!!
Nice guy, decent player, piss poor captain.

LA likes Brown as a player, not sold on him with the C

This quote from a message board had me
I think Carter and Richards are going to be able to pull more strange out of Manahattan and Hermosa Beach than Piazza and Karros did during their tenure.

NHL36 on Mike Richards.....boy you can really see why this guy was/is Captain material.
Something Brown never was/is.
Scuds is a strong candidate for the C.

Okay, serious question: What is the matter with Brown as captain for the Kings? I've seen him play a few times and for all extents and purposes, he's a heart-and-soul sort of guy, no?
And having that as a captain is not a bad thing at all! So, what are his deficiencies?
The sizzle in the Steak
Short answer: He plays well, but is not a leader in the locker room.
Richards on the other hand does both.
If you did not see the C and you saw Richards and Brown in the locker room, you would think for sure Richards is the team captain.

You would think it would be Voukon slicing his wrists after the way he's been playing.

I'm hoping for some deadline magic from Chiarelli
The B's are hurting with a Horton (concussion), Peverly (4-6 weeks ACL), and potentially Boychuck (who knows, he got leveled and didn't return to the game) out.

^ Call Burkie, I'm sure he'd be glad to help out the B's again.
Not sure who the hell you'd want from that collection of stiff's though

Holy smokes!!! The Hawks seriously need a goaltender!!
Lack of goaltending is gutting that team....not to mention piss poor defense.
The Kings of ALL teams blank the Hawks 4-0?!?!? How is that possible?
Hawks management need to be taken to the wood shed.
Look at Brownie!!! Trade rumors, and then he goes out and gets the natural hat trick

And yet, a no-name goalie helped the Hawks win a Cup. Hawks can go on a nice run in te playoffs if they can fix their defense first and foremost...
Also, having 2 D-men starters out and no Toews doesn't hurt LA's chances. So, what does that equate? Easy win for even teams that can't score.

It's interesting to see the Preds getting the Kostitsyn brothers together. Maybe Trotz can get the most out of them...

Say it again: Fix the defense, the goaltending will come. I'm not asking for ECHL-type goaltending...just serviceable. And Emery/Crawford = serviceable.

And according to Eklund, Malkin will be sent to the Kings for Yuhfrov for a Cup run. And Ovechkin is going to Edmonton for 2 fourth rounders.
