So, rank 'em: What's a crazier move...Phil the Thrill from Boston for 2 lottery picks or Penner for Teubert and picks?

Well, considering his partying ways...I'm not surprised.

Like I said before, I've heard some nutty stories about the shenanigans going over at his place from a friend of mine who lived across the crescent from him back when he was an Oiler.

Penner was a TRUE professional. Crosby, Toews, Datsyuk, et al would be jealous at how great of a model pro athlete Penner was.

Nashville to Southeast, Winnipeg to Northwest, Minny to Central. That's all they had to do.

This is all fucked up.

So 4 of the 7 or 8 teams each make the playoffs. that's not fair to the western conferences and you can basically pencil in Pittsburgh, Philly and Washington for the next 5-8 seasons, so good luck Islanders ever making the playoffs in the next decade...

The worst damage done to Pens was by Pens tonight. I was nervous that they were going to do some damage at the end of that B's powerplay when they got their 5th man back but that wasn't what I expected.

B's are going to go far if they're own bodies can handle their style of play. They lay the hit when it's there and take the hit to make the play. They are extremely committed to the style Julien has laid out for them and it's a style that the city loves but it's going to be punishing on both sides over 82 games and hopefully into the playoffs.

I think it is better for Dallas - not having to travel halfway across the country for divisional games anymore. Finally no more 9pm game start times!

I feel the 80's era of setting up your team to just being slightly better than the lower one or two teams in your division/conference will be making a comeback.

It's all you need to do to make the playoffs....just be slightly better than the piss poor teams in you division/conference.

History repeats itself.

Hello Patrick, Norris, Adams, & Smyth.....nice seeing you again....it's been a while.
How are Campbell and Wales doing?

Wish they would have changed the points system as well. Time to stop awarding a point for a loss or up a regulation win to 3 points.

I like the idea of the 1st round staying within the conference, although they shouldn't be called conferences. It confuses the casual fan since every other sport has only 2 conferences.

What I don't get is how they decide who plays in the 2nd round. They said they want GM feedback?

Some surprises so far...

Who would have thought the Wild would be first in the West? Caps would be stinking it up with that line-up? And the Kings...below .500?

Interesting year, indeed.

Offense, you mean.

Your team has a popgun offense...which, does not fit the roster it has.
