I really like Brad Marchand's game. He's going to become an excellent player.

Let's go Bruins!

He has quickly become a fan favorite. He started the year on the 4th line with Campbell and Thornton and made that one of our top lines early in the year (probably had something to do with all the goals Thornton got early in the season). He then got promoted to basically every line at some point including PP and PK. The kid goes all out all the time. He really deserved some consideration for rookie of the year but what he brought to the game was too balanced to just put up offensive numbers but he did net 20 goals 21 assists with 5 shorties and 2 PP goals and was plus 25 on the season (tied with Kopitar and Toews).

Jeez. Luongo went from playing awesome to taking it up the butt. I know both him and Thomas are up for the Venizia but Thomas without a doubt should be the winner, not just based on these past few performances but based on the whole season.

Canucks better get their shit straight to take away Boston's momentum.

I'd say Thomas is more of a reason that the B's are playing for the cup than Luongo.

REPORT: BETTMAN TELLS BALSILLIE HE COULD STILL GET A TEAM

Jim Balsillie's endless attempts to get an NHL team may prove fruitful after all.

According to Forbes magazine, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has told Balsillie that he will get an NHL team in the future if he does not "create any more spectacles or bad publicity for the league".

Balsillie, who owns Research in Motion (RIM), has made previous attempts to purchase the Pittsburgh Penguins, Nashville Predators and Phoenix Coyotes and move them to southern Ontario.

The Coyotes may be up for sale again next summer when the deal with the city of Glendale expires. Last week, True North Sports and Entertainment bought the Atlanta Thrashers and are in the process of moving them to Winnipeg.

RIM has been advertising its Blackberry product on the NBC and Versus coverage of the Stanley Cup Final games as well as the league's website, NHL.com.

Now we have a series. Canucks need to figure out how to beat Thomas. He's been a monster so far. The PP needs to get going!

Lou

You know how Moog goes and calls people myopic...? I think we can give that to you.

Here's CANADA'S Globe and Mail showing their "love" for your team: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sport...rticle2050961/

Here's the Toronto Sun: http://www.torontosun.com/2011/06/08/i-hate-your-team

Ooo...another from Canada.com! http://www.canada.com/quite+Canada+t...401/story.html

I can provide more evidence that Canada hates your team if you like...?

Only BCers are rooting for the Canucks. Everyone else in Canada? Yeah...gleefully watching your team blow a 2-game lead.

There was defenseman Ryan Whitney on a Boston radio station: “This (Vancouver) team is so easy to hate it is unbelievable ... I’d say that 90 percent of the guys in the league want nothing to do with seeing them win.”

So if I understand this correctly, what Gary is basically saying is....

"We have too many teams losing millions and need new smmhucks err, owners to prop them up and/or move them to a Canadian city. Since we can't find anyone else that meets the criteria, and are absolutely DESPERATE....because we need new ownership in Phoenix, Dallas, Columbus, Florida, Long Island and.... probably one or two more. I'll reach out to the guy who tried to screw me and the league over.

As long as he doesn't think he can move the team wherever he wants."

Sounds about right to me. No tinfoil needed. If you think he's genuine, you should be the one wearing tinfoil.

I'm not quite rooting against the Canucks... I could really care less. But I would prefer if Boston won if push came to shove.

I don't think he should've made any comments on Thomas' performance. Timmy's been a beast, especially in the finals. Lou has been just as good most games but hes had 4 collapses.

Just as good...? Uh...dude. Look at their numbers. Lou's save percentage is sub .900 and his GAA is atrocious.

I think people are blowing it out of proportion. He said Timmy's aggressive style kept him from making what would've been a fairly easy save if he played deeper in the crease. And Luongo also said Timmy was able to make saves that he couldn't have. It didn't come off to me as an attack on his goaltending abilities.

Don't just look at his stats. His point is Lu's been able to keep pucks out of the net just as well, if not better than Timmy Thomas on home games. Two shutouts and 3-2 in game 3 isn't "atrocious" at all.

However, I agree that Thomas is far more consistent.

Thats why I mentioned the 4 collapses in my earlier post. Besides those games he's been just as good as Timmy (Talking about the entire playoffs). He has 2 shutouts in the Stanley Cup finals so you cant just write him off as a terrible goalie. But Thomas has been unbelievable in the Finals...consistently.

Canucks would still be leading the series without Lou in Net. Boston would already be sippin Pina Colada's if it weren't for Thomas

Why is hockey still being played on June 13th? I can't recall a season ever dragging on for so long. IIRC, the NBA playoffs started a week after the NHL's.

I can't wait to stick this one in your face. Its going to be worse than all the Yumchah Le' and Le4thquarter posts in the NBA thread.

So outside of the Detroit moving issue, do you truly believe Gary Bettman and the NHL board of governors are on the up and up and a true democracy is at work there?

Besides, the count will never let a Canadian team win the Cup.
