Can somebody explain the funeral thing when the rioting ends. Gotta get me that app.
Congrats Bruins fans. One he'll of a complete team. Nothing flashly, just get the job done. But why TF was Kaberle like 5th to hoist Lord Stanley? I was embarrassed for him, but nice to see him win, eve though it cost us a draft position.
Must be nice to be a Boston sports fan these days.

Anyone catch the irony of the wraparound goal...? Wasn't that a goal which Louuuuuuuuuu said "if you stay in the paint, it would be an easy save"...?
OOPS.

Well, I'm glad to say, despite being and American, I made the right call saying that the Canucks did not have the heart or the poise to win the Cup.
I was right.

They played so well just a round earlier. They just didn't have anything left or that preverbial extra gear.
Or they have no heart.

Luougo is not Vancouver's answer...He did not need to be great just not be bad. With all that talent and depth the team had, he didn't necessarily have to out-play Thomas. Just not let in deflaters. And well, instead, he was extremely inconsistent and on his bad days, he was brutal. That won't help win a Cup...even if he is a namebrand goalie. And think back even to Round 1 and through to the Finals...how many times was Lou yanked and how many TDs did he let in? Yeah. Brutal.
And lastly...Vancouver shot themselves in the foot. Boston was down 2 games. 2 games. Say that a few times. That's even further down than the Mavericks. But, the Canucks could not just put their head down and play...instead, you get biters, cheapshots, taunting...and then, the rally cry in taking off Horton's head. And there's your series.
Honestly, did they not freaking learn against Chicago in the 1st round when they almost lost? The turning point in that series was when Torres took that run at Seabrook...You'd think the Canucks would've learned to avoid that crap and learn to turn the other cheek.
Anyhow, back to watching the Vancouver riot.

Thats a horrible assessment of how the playoffs went for the Canucks and why they lost. And BTW you said in multiple posts that Canucks would win the Stanley Cup. Anyways I'm not going to waste time arguing with a stereotypical loudmouth Hockey fan. You would fit in well downtown.

Congrats to the Bruins. They really deserved to win. I was happy to see Thomas raise the cup, what a performance by him.
Maybe next year we can sign the Sedins and Kesler to a contract that insures they play through the ENTIRE playoffs.

chips and smokes, lets go
Okay...being serious for a change...I'd say Kesler was probably injured. The Sedins...erm, no comment other than, they have not showed much before and their disappearing act should not be a surprise.

RAR
Well the riots are unfortunate. What probably really ticks them off is that hockey seems to be the national sport in Canada, whereas most American's could care less about hockey and I believe its one of the least followed of our major sports.

Congrats to the Bruins. They really deserved this cup.. outplayed Vancouver. And Thomas was sensational, nobody else was even close for being MVP.
Sucks to see all the rioting and shit in Vancouver

I'm still having a hard time believing this all happened. After all these years of believing it could happen, I can't believe it did happen.
3 questions going into next year, will they resign Kaberle? How much of a contract has "little" Bradley Marchand earned himself for next year? Lastly, when are we gonna fire up the Duck Boats?

I think this pretty much sums up Vancouver's problems. Winning lots of games in the regular season is one thing but you can't let things like this happen in the playoffs and not make them answer for it. They are fast and pretty but they didn't seem to have the heart go go out and fight for a championship.

Way to stay classy Vancouver. Props to Thomas and Recchi for an incredible win. Vancouver getting shut out at home in a game 7 just shows how pathetic they are, them cheap shotting on through game 7, again demonstrates their classless dirty play. Nice to see an Eastern team win the cup, even if a few necks had to be broken for them to get there.
I did laugh hysterically at the booing of betman, he kept having to shout louder and louder because the booing was so intense

How is my assessment wrong...? Prove it.
And thank you for calling me a stereo-type hockey loudmouth. I always wanted to be white...it makes my dreams of becoming a CEO one day easier.
And insult me again, I'll really show you how classy I can be.

I wish Chicago held onto Shawn Thornton.

Me thinks your memory is fading. A quick google search of "Mike Milbury Thelma Louise" and "Dan Patrick Thelma Louise" will clear it up for you.

If you do the search, there are many relevant articles when Milburys name is included. When you put Patricks name in you get one reference to Milbury explaining his comment on Patricks show.

Well, I still don't know and believe Thornton to be the turning point for Boston (I still think it to be the things I posted about which led to Shift Acura to call me a rioting criminal). But, I can't discredit his impact on the roster either.
Thornton'd be a great addition on any 4th line...
